AnnaSophia- JustJared.com Interview

JJ: Had you seen Sex and the City before filming?

AR: Once I started auditioning for it, yes. But I was too young for the show when it ended. But that was part of my process auditioning. I wanted to see what the show was about by watching it. I was like, “Oh my gosh. This is so fantastic. It’s so smart and the characters are just relateable and funny.” I got really excited about the project.

JJ: Have you ever met Sarah Jessica Parker before?

AR: I met her briefly at a fashion show. It wasn’t anything super personal. She’s teeny-tiny! I think every woman envies her.

JJ: Yes! So let’s talk about Carrie and Sebastian. Do you think their relationship is where she gets her affinity for bad boys later in life?

AR: Yeah, I think definitely your first relationships in life tend to influence how you deal with the relationships. That’s just kind of natural with friends and also platonic relationships as well. So I think she’s definitely taking cues from Sebastian’s behavior and that will reflect later on.

JJ: Are you rooting for Carrie and Sebastian?

AR: As an actor, and I think with the storyline and creatively, I’d like to see her date other guys just because I think it’s more interesting. It creates conflict and introduces other characters. You kind of see how she responds in different situations with different people. But in the end, when you introduce two characters as love interests in the first episode of a show, you always kind of want them to end up together. It’s just like Gossip Girl (laughs). As soon as the idea of them together is introduced, you kind of want it. But definitely, it’s better to have the tension pulled and draw everything out.
