Not a fan of Russel Crowe’s singing :(

# 2

Russell Crowe did a good job. Everyone did good.

# 3

Aaron strutting out like a boss~<3

Russel Crowe sang like crap in the movie…and here as well. Samantha Barks still got zero credit…even on her own image in the gallery. Comon…give the Broadway star some credit!!

# 5

So Russell is no Hugh Jackman in the singing department. Enough already. He gave a fine performance and sang the part of Javert much like it was done on Broadway. With restraint. Must we always criticize. Les Miz was a wonderful movie and Russell Crowe played his part well enough to please the director and many fans. Let it go already.

Yes we must criticize. Russell isn’t made for musicals. PERIOD. He is a good actor but don’t push him to do romantic comedies and don’t try to make him sing. Seriously, why is everyone saying “he was ok, leave him be”? He wasn’t. End of story. The man is oscar-worthy from other departments but this isn’t one of them. I agree about Samantha Banks getting credit. Does she have the smallest waist ever, btw?
Also, Jennifer Hudson won her oscar for singing, not for acting. Mighty fine singer. Not actress.
Catherine looks mighty fine for her age!!!
All hail Andrew Lloyd Weber!

My favourite character was Javert in the movie. I really love Russell Crowe as Javert. I don’t know why you are saying that he doesn’t have a good voice, or he has bad voice… I think his voice is PERFECT. I relly like ir, because it is special and deep, and beautiful. And for a Javert, it is more than perfect. So please don’t judge him like that, because he didn’t do anything wrong.
Les Miserables is an amazing movie I think it should have got more Oscars, but it is OK.

*relly=really
*ir=it

P.S.: I think Russell Crowe has better and more special voice than Hugh Jackman or Eddie Redmayne or Aaron Tveit. If you saw the film you can hear that, Mr. Crowe’s voice is very-very strong and amazing.

I thought Russell Crowe was bad as Javert, emotionally his performance was a mess. He came across as totally bland which is a shame because Javert is such a complex character, Crowe just made him utterly unlikable.

@Laura: Umm no. It was annoying up to the point of sheer agony. Just no.

@Laura:

Agreed! I think all of the hate for Russell Crowe is from all the critics getting into peoples heads. He plays a really good Javert.

Finally purchased the soundtrack yesterday and am really baffled by everyone saying Russell Crowe is horrible. He’s quite good in “Javert’s Suicide”.

Also, if you listen to stage performances Javert never sounds pitch perfect, I think that’s the point. It’s not supposed to be a bunch of people with voices that sound produced, it should be about the rawness and emotion of it since Les Mis is chalked full of emotion.

I really enjoyed the movie and this performance.

i think aaron shines.
so young ,so handsom.
WISH HIM THE BEST IN THE FUTURE.

The Les Mis section was terrible. Hugh Grant does a great job, but Suddenly is an awful, dull song, and as for One Day More, it was butchered. Fantine does not belong in that song, no matter who plays her, and the rest of it sounded like a skipping CD it was so chopped up. A shame, becaus everyone was doing their best and Russell Crowe, for all I’m not a fan, sounded better than when he did that bit in the film.

@ChristyA: Hugh Grant was not in this performance nor was he in the movie. They had to showcase everyone regardless and I thought this was a wonderful performance. Every member of the Les Mis cast was teriffic.

Okay, so why don’t you go and play Javert im sure you could all do rubbish jobs, These people are actors not singers, if we wanted an excellent singing production (which it was btw), we can just go to Broadway or the West End. I though Russell Crowe was just as good as the rest of the cast

agree. give Russell crowe credit. He did a fine job.

@Joe Pic:

to all the negative comments articulated so blatant, cold and shallow. look at yourself. what do you do that’s so perfect.? they are humble and do their best and thus: they SHINE!!

I loved seeing the cast of Les Miserables perform this medley of songs from the movie. I thought they did wonderfully and I was also happy to see Anne Hathaway win the award for Best Supporting Actress. I was at work at DISH last night when the Academy Awards were on so I recorded it on my DVR. I set up my DISH Hopper with the PrimeTime Anytime feature to record all primetime shows that came on ABC last night. This way I made sure not to miss the red carpet events or the ceremony.

I personally liked Russell in Les Mis… he’s not the best singer, true, but I found Amanda Seyfreid’s voice MUCH more irritating than his. That forced vibrato in her voice was just obnoxious >.<
Crowe did a good job as Javert, considering that he's not professionally trained as a singer, I still got chills when he sang "Javert's Suicide". Everyone else in the cast did well also, especially Samantha Banks– she was AMAZING as Fantine <3

I think that is one of the most vital information for me. And i’m glad reading your article. However want to observation on some general things, The site style is wonderful, the articles is really nice : D. Excellent task, cheers

@cathi:

Well, I contributed in his salary of millions of dollars.
I can expect more from a person who earns such money than from myself..
