Tina Fey Covers 'Ladies' Home Journal' April 2013!

Tina Fey looks gorgeous as she graces the cover of Ladies’ Home Journal‘s April 2013 issue.

Here is what the 42-year-old Admission actress had to share with the mag:

On her female role models growing up: “I was born in 1970, which was a somewhat lucky time. As a kid the message was all ‘Free to be…You and Me.’ There was so much public talk about girls doing anything, girls playing Little League! Then we rolled all that into the Spice Girls. Of course now our empowerment is kind of twisted. It’s like, ‘Girls can do anything! You can profit from your own sex tape.’

On applying to college: “I went to the University of Virginia, but I applied to Princeton. I was a good student, but I was not quite Princeton material. I remember having an interview with an alum and I wore a long plaid skirt and a blue jacket. I didn’t have polish like the private school kids. During the interview it came up that I didn’t drive. I was like, ‘Yeah I’m just not interested in driving.’ The person looked at me like, this kid is so lame. They wanted super-adventurous—and I didn’t even want to drive a car.

On the importance of humor: “Humor is a great coping mechanism in real life. I know things are getting stressful if I lose my sense of humor in any situation.”

Don’t worry I’m the same, I can’t get a real job just cause I don’t drive. Tina Fey and I have alot in common, we have the same morals and values.

Sometimes I like Tina, sometimes she bothers me. It’s too bad she felt the need to wrap up the work of feminists over the past 30 years with the Spice Girls and sex tapes. A lot of progress has been made since the 70s and it had to do with plenty more than that. It reminds me somewhat of people who glamorize the past and arrogantly seem to believe they were meant to be born of a much earlier generation. As long as you are a white man that works out, but if you’re anyone else it quickly becomes problematic…
