Congrats to Michelle Williams and Co.!

Michelle would probably the only reason why I’d watch this, not that it looks terrible or anything. Rachel, too.

# 3

The only reason why, I watched this film was for James Franco and yes, congrats to a major movie hit in the title role.

The film was brilliant, everyone played their parts very well and I’m going back to see it again as soon as possible.

Sam Raimi is the man, and thanks for bringing the Oz brand to some new generations, it truly worked.

James Franco is an overrated fame ***** he can’t even act. Michelle Williams and Mila are the only reasons to see this movie.

# 5

This movie is very boring. Don’t waste your money.

@John: Sorry, I went 4 James Franco 2.

James Franco is an Oscar nominated actor, who has played many gr8 roles from James Dean, Milk, 127 Hours, Pineapple Express, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Howl, The Broken Tower 2 Spring Breakers & looking 4ward 2 This is the End.

It is alright, having favs 4 this movie & I loved Michelle & Milia but I went 4 James & nothing wrong with that.

Also, overrated or not he can open a blockbuster movie. 3 blockbuster franchise hits, Spider-man, Rise of the Planet of the Apes & now Oz, plus mix it with his indie movies.

Whatever you thought of him in each particular roles, they’re all winners at the box office.

No point arguing about Oz, all these outstanding stars have a hit movie on their hands, so any arguments is plain silly – together magic at the box office.

All the actors were fine…the storyline was really very bad. The witches were the best part, Weisz was under utlized as her character could have been expanded more. Mila Kunis had the best role. JMO…I paid to see this movie but would not recommend it to others…very over rated film. Wait for it on netflix.

Go see Oz the Great and Powerful. Not the same as the classic 1939 but very strong in its own right. Great performance by Franco and all. Disney family movie at its best, just pure fun.

“Oz the Great and Powerful” is all smoke and no mirrors, no fantasy, just effects without affect. To be honest, more like Oz the Amiable and Un-threatening. The best, funniest Oz thing I’ve read lately is DA YELLER BRICK ROAD, a revisionist telling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Uncle Remus. The conceit is it was originally by Remus (who didn’t exist) and then “borrowed and cleaned-up” by Baum. Hilarious and fun in a ribald sort of way. All that “Oz the Great and Powerful” is not.

entertaining movie but was too long and I think another actor should have played OZ

I have not seen the movie yet, but gone watch it next weekend. Look forward to see if it is really that good.

$200 million to make and $100 million in domestic marketing. Bad word of mouth (so next weekend’s numbers are going to fall hard.) This is going to have to be a studio write off.

They needed Alice in Wonderland’s numbers and hype. Alice opened at $116 million for the first weekend ($200 mil budget) and had great buzz. This opened at $80 mil.

I find it interesting that Michelle williams has a picture out that people declared racist due to the use of feathers and long braided hair that eerily mimic old pictures of native women the SAME time as she is promoting The wizard of oz which was written by L.Frank Baum who was known to have written his opinion that the genocide of native americans was the way to claim the united states for white settlers. Somebody either set her up or think they are being very subtle in their “humor”.

I went for James also..he is great actor and the movie is funny, I can bring my niece, he can laugh and enjoy the show….I know why this movie has topped
