Kristen Bell: 'Veronica Mars' Kickstarter Meets Goal!

It’s official Veronica Mars fans – the movie has met it’s $2 million budget goal!

Earlier today, the show’s creator Rob Thomas opened a Kickstarter campaign to get the highly-anticipated film, starring Kristen Bell, funded.

“Here it is. Our one shot to see a Veronica Mars movie happen. Kristen is in. I’m in. Let’s do it,” Rob wrote on the campaign’s page.

In four hours, the campaign broke all prior Kickstarter records by raising $1 million. In less than twenty-four hours the campaign met it’s goal of $2 million!

Donations are still coming in and the current total is $2,241,146.

“I love you guys. You are all SO spectacular. I am speechless,” Kristen wrote on Twitter.

Congratulations to Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas – we can’t wait for the film to start!

Not sure how I feel about this. We already have to pay for tickets, now we have to help fund production? Slippery slope.

$2 million that could have gone to an important cause, but instead will be used for a movie that will most likely bomb.

Non Veronica Mars fans have NO idea how deep our love for Veronica Mars runs! Been waiting soooo long for this movie, and essentially this movie is being made for the fans so if you are scoffing at people donating $$ to fund a movie they wanna see, just shut up.

my friend’s ex-wife makes $63 every hour on the internet. She has been out of a job for six months but last month her pay was $14382 just working on the internet for a few hours. Here’s the site to read more… http://www.snag4.ℂom

I think this is ridiculous. First you are helping to fund this movie, and then you pay for the tickets as well? Who benefits from this? I think this money could have been donated to something more worth while.

@asa: Can the bleeding hearts who are not fans of the show just stop?

The fans benefit from it, because they are the ones who want a closure to their story. Besides if you go to the site, it says that those who pledge a certain amount will be rewarded for it through memorabilia so it’s not like they are just donating to help someone get richer. This is a pure passion project. Everybody wins.

And I’m sorry but if you have ever paid money to be entertained you are an utter hypocrite. How you would like someone pestering you to spend your money on something more “worthwhile?”

  • asa

There is no hypocrisy there. I don’t fund a movie and then go and pay to watch it as well. I understand that each individual must be contributing a small amount, however, the total is a large amount. I think this just goes to show the downward spiral the west is in, and how controlled people are and don’t even realize it. This is the internet, and I have as much right as anyone to comment on this. If you are going to post something then be ready to hear some criticism as well.
