Lena Dunham: Playboy's Twenty Questions Feature!

Lena Dunham: Playboy's Twenty Questions Feature!

Lena Dunham holds up an “I Posed Today” shirt in this brand new 20Q feature from Playboy‘s latest issue, on newsstands tomorrow.

Here’s what the 26-year-old Girls actress had to share with the mag:

On not wanting a Victoria’s Secret body: “I don’t think I’d like it very much. There would be all kinds of weird challenges to deal with that I don’t have to deal with now. I don’t want to go through life wondering if people are talking to me because I have a big rack. Not being the babest person in the world creates a nice barrier. That said, I probably would want to see if I could get free food at restaurants. Then I’d call a doctor and see if she could return me to my former situation.”

On if Girls is a show based on feminism: “How could a show about women exploring women not be? Feminism isn’t a dirty word. It’s not like we’re a deranged group who think women should take over the planet, raise our young on our own and eliminate men from the picture. Feminism is about women having all the rights that men have.”

On guys she’s attracted to: “When I was younger I liked men who gave me some guff. Now I’m much more into someone who is interesting and open with his emotions, has a really good sense of humor and a passion for what he does, wants to hang out with my parents and doesn’t want to stay out too late. If I can get excited imagining funny things he did as a kid, there’s a pretty good chance I’m in love with him.”

    Please stop doing naked scenes.
Please stop showing your ugly ass on national TV.
HBO should be ashamed for airing that kind of crap on their network.

    Sheisai Says:

@Peaches: Most of the girls and guys on the show are ugly.
Especially the guy who plays Adam or whatver. Fugly ass people with zero talent!

    nm Says:

go ahead people, keep judging books by their cover!Just because someone’s not apealing to you doesn’t make them any less worthy, and in this case Lena has a brilliant, bright mind!I’d much rather have HER as a role model than Miranda Kerr. At least she has an opinion and knows how to speak it..

  13. 13
    Same Says:

That’s what she wants that’s fine by me the only problem I have with this girl is she sometimes makes it seem like the girls who actually want to have a model body are bad. Women are different we all want different things. She is great, I haven’t watched her show but its doing well. I just wish some of her comments don’t seem like they put other women who want different things from her down.

    Sian Says:

@nm, I couldn’t agree more. I might not love Lena’s show unconditionally, but I’d much rather hear what she has to say about anything, than hear one more time about Miranda Kerr’s stupid beauty products.

    Rexo Says:

Lena Denham seems okay, she can say what she wants right? I have seen the show Girls without knowing the plot before and was shcoked. Very vulgar and honestly, you can’t really relate to any of the characters.
Its not about looking like Adriana Lima or Miranda Kerr but the show is not really relatable to most people.

    Rexo Says:

Also, her comments about the models are worng. So many unattractive, short and ugly girls are models. Devon Aoki is pretty dang ugly, she is very short actaully yet she probably makes more then even Kerr or Lima since she modelled for huge brands like Chanel, Guccie, YSL,etc.

    casablacka Says:

you guys can get angry all you want lol……the point is she’s writing pretty witty material especially for someone her age and getting to do what she loves to do. What are you guys doing? Trying to get creative with your meanness (but ultimately failing) on a random blog. I think we know who is better at life here. Good luck lol

  18. 18
    Alaia Says:

@Liz 2.0: The show has a cult following and the critics LOVE it. Obviously it wouldn’t have been picked up for a third season if people didn’t like it. It’s obviously a polarising show, but it is well LOVED by the people that do like it. I don’t quite understand the angry hate this woman gets. But I guess that’s how I feel whenever I see somebody like Taylor Swift. Now that is an annoying person.

    Ohboy Says:

I like Lena Dunham, and I think she’s really talented, but I can’t help but think that Girls is a vanity project for her. I believe that when she’s writing about Hannah, she’s really writing about herself. I feel as though, through Hannah, Lena gets to experience the love she never had/wants, etc. Adam loves Hannah so much he’s willing to sabotage his new relationship for her, he’s willing to fall off the wagon for her, he’s willing to stalk her, come to her house, and so on. It’s okay for her to do all these things, I mean we all have fantasies, but I think it’s Lena’s narcissism that kind of gets in the way. While focusing most of her energy on Hannah, she has made the other characters mere shadows, with the exception of Adam, because he’s her love interest. I feel like the show shouldn’t be called Girls, but Hannah, and the Girls. Marnie, Shoshanna, Jessa, and the other characters seem like mere 2 dimensional figures in comparison with Hannah. Yes they have problems as well, but those problems are give a passing glance almost, while much of the show’s energy is invested in Hannah, who’s made to be a more complex character. I don’t know. She’s talented, but there’s something about her that I think rubs people the wrong way, and I’m not sure what it is, narcissism, exhibitionism, nepotism?

    di Says:

i like the show but i don’t believe her… in an acceptance speech she gave thanks to her boyfriend for making her believe she is beautiful.. soooooo… isn’t a little contradictory? what is she going to say to the magazine?: i don’t like myself and want to be skinny?
what she answered was the obvious thing to say…

    Awe Says:

    fat *****!

  22. 22
    Susan Says:

I don’t watch this show but reading her comments above she seems intelligent, original, and has a very challenging perspective on being attractive. Good for her. I believe as a woman there’s freedom in not giving a crap about whether or not men find you attractive. And for anyone questioning her honesty on the topic of looks, why is it so impossible for a woman to not want to feel like a sex object, to want a life that doesn’t include being ogled? I think she’s cool, courageous and hope there’s gonna be a lot more like her soon. Women who make it on their brains and personality, not their looks. Awesome!

  23. 23
    see Says:

that lena dunham is one ugly spoilt rich little kid with a stoopid tv program about really dumb insecure chicks, there are so many talented people out there who don’t get a break because rich little girls with bad ideas get the go-ahead
bah what tv nonsense, worse than even reality tv

  24. 24
    Pilgrim Says:

Vanity Project, that’s exactly right. WHICH MAKES YOU A NON-FEMINIST, LENA. BEING NARCISSISTIC ISN’T FEMINISM. NOR IS BEING PLAIN AND BEING NARCISSISTIC ABOUT HOW INTERESTING AND HIPSTER YOU ARE.

  25. 25
    cosnaughtsoldierkiss Says:

LOL everyone’s like, ugh she’s fat!! Id love to see how sexy you guys are! rarrrrr
