Alexa Chung Covers Time Out New York's Spring Fashion Issue

Alexa Chung graces the cover of Time Out New York magazine’s Spring Fashion issue, on newsstands now.

Here’s what the 29-year-old fashionista and Fuse News anchor had to share with the mag:

On her fashion mistakes: “I got punk a bit wrong when I was 17. I misinterpreted it and crossed it with some weird Pokémon-Tamagotchi hybrid.”

On her New York City apartment: “I have a really small apartment [in the East Village] and small and messy closet. I like how disordered it is, though. I’m never going to be one of those people who is good at organization. But I’m very visual. I have a catalog in my head of things I already own, so it’s easy to shop. I collect everything in multiples. You should see how many white shirts I’ve got.”

On American style: “I’m always amazed by how thick and shiny everyone’s hair is and how white everyone’s teeth are.”

On her likes and dislikes of Spring/Summer in NYC: “I like seeing trees that don’t look like they’re from a witchy nightmare. But I find spring and summer in NYC particularly difficult to dress for because my style is absolutely based on layering. I hate anything sexy, and I hate a lot of flesh showing.”

She’s very stylish and charming but seriously, when you can make millions from doing nothing but styling people and going to fashion shows, it’s pretty darn sad!

@Pilgrim: I don’t think she makes millions… Not all celebrities are wealthy. They have a lot of people to pay and don’t make as much as the overexposed. The more interviews, more red carpets, more merchandise, the more money you make. I wouldn’t even go as far to say she’s a celebrity; she’s quite low-key.

I like her and her style. The only thing that bothers me is her smoker voice. I just want to tell anyone who smokes to shut up. It makes me cringe.

my buddy’s step-aunt makes $74 an hour on the laptop. She has been laid off for six months but last month her income was $15903 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Read more on this web site… http://www.snag4.ℂom

@xyz: Not as dumb as you, clearly.

While I’m not a fan of her anorexic look, she was instrumental in helping relaunch the Madewell brand and she’s charming/ charismatic in interviews. I agree w/criticism that it’s a sad culture commentary that she is so well -known for what amounts to little more than window dressing.

I don’t get the fascination with this chick…she’s not that exciting…but then again, I never saw fashion icon in Kate Moss either.
