Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Past Miscarriage: 'I Nearly Died'

Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about having a miscarriage in the past couple of years in The Mail’s Sunday You magazine.

“My children [Apple, 8, and Moses, 6] ask me to have a baby all the time,” the 40-year-old actress said to the mag. “And you never know, I could squeeze one more in. I am missing my third. I’m thinking about it.”

“But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third,” Gwyneth added. “It didn’t work out and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here or should we go back and try again?’”

“We [husband Chris Martin] are committed co-parents, we make all the decisions together and lean on each other for support,” she said. “[He] is so good to the children and to know that you had kids with such a good man is a real weight off you.”

“Regardless of what happens in our marriage, I chose the best father,” Gwyneth concluded.

i don’t want to sound rude or insensitive, because i feel for her but… “it didn’t work out” really an odd way of saying “i had a miscarriage”

It sounds like she is prepping the press for her break up with Chris. That is good that they are good co parents. I get the feeling they are already broken up and will soon make it public.

Regardless of what happens? Would be nice to see at least ONE Hollywood couple survive. Everyone breaks up… It’s getting old. C’mon Gwyn go against the norm and actually stay together- it’s the hip thing I hear :)

  • SNL

Boy, times have changed for HRH. Now she is giving exclusives to the Daily Fail.

  • Boy

She just wants sympathy and attention.

  • Au

I don’t think it necessarily means she’s hinting at divorce.
    news flash, marriage is hard.
you have to work at it.
Inbetween fitting in time for the kids, your career, your household, and yourself.. that’s stressful.
so finding patience with your partner amongst that stress, that’s rough.
u have to work at it.

  • Black

She keeps saying stuff like ‘what ever happens’ or ‘god forbid if we ever break up’ and ‘marriage is really hard’. this isn’t sounding right…

  • see

Paltrow has a new book to sell, this is the only way to get attention, since she is no longer relevant other than as interesting IF she revels her private things.

  • Looselipz

I agree, it’s suspicious to say regardless of what happens in the marriage…
    I don’t see it lasting really…
    Never liked her…

  • kami

“Regardless of what happens in our marriage…”

she’s been saying that in a lot of interviews lately. hope it doesn’t mean they are planning to split.

  • Nata1234

Why tell the whole damn world about it??

Brad calls the paps a bit too much and he likes showmance GF. I don’t think Goop works on that level.

  • Goop

I wish she would go back to acting and stop trying to sell herself as the next Martha Stewart. It isn’t working.

  • Halli

She reveals this after her ridiculous comments saying some kind of YaYa sisterhood has formed around her and woman aren’t threatened by her now that she os a 40 year old mom. I mean, really? She’s as fake as Beyonce

  • Lisa

Please! The only reason why Gwyneth is a successful actress is because of her Hollywood connections and her dating Brad Pitt (at the time). She won the Oscar over the deserved Cate Blanchett (for Elizabeth) due to Hollywood connections and media hype.

Now, her career is in the toilet because of “Britiain is better than America” quotes and because people realized she is not a good actress. The only reason why people find her a little interesting because she is married to Chris Martin and because people sense her marriage is not all stable. She better stay marry because Martin is her last line to attention.

As a woman who lost her own pregnancy, I am grateful to Beyonce and Gwyneth for talking about it. What I went through was so painful and I felt so alone. It was only then that so many other women told me about their own experiences. I was surprised how many friends and family members had gone through it. It’s a shame that women are told not to talk about these things. And it does not necessarily mean that “she almost died” was a physical problem. I took that as being her mental state, because that’s how I felt. And marriage is hard, it is a long haul, and the fact that she admits this is a good thing, at least she knows it’s going to take work. Best of luck to her.

  • Susan

If that didn’t sound like they’re thinking of splitting, I don’t know what does…!

  • D.L.

“a really bad experience… it didn’t work out” This must be the weirdest way to describe a miscarriage I’ve ever heard. Sounds like the way you’d talk about a bad date, LOL!
I hope they’ll have another baby in the near future. Good luck to them.

I love it when people who frequent gossip sites, tell someone they’re revealing too much. Any reason to pick on someone.
