Kate Bosworth Talks Michael Polish Wedding Details!

Kate Bosworth bundles up while exiting LAX Airport after arriving on a flight on Friday (March 22) in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old actress recently chatted with Allure about planning her upcoming wedding to fiance Michael Polish.

“I’m just letting it organically unfold,” Kate said. “The ceremony and all the other aspects are just kind of details. I feel married in every sense of the word, and I have for a long time.”

Michael chose my ring and I love it. He knows me so well to be able to choose something as significant as that,” Kate added about her engagement ring.

FYI: Kate is wearing Karen Walker Eyewear‘s “Deep Freeze” frame.

  • Suze

I guess Michael didn’t go with her to Japan?

  • ladybug

She hadn’t been papped in so long I was getting worried.

And WTF does ‘organically unfold’ mean?

  • ladybug

@Suze: Apparently not. Perhaps he stayed in LA to work on their new movie.

  • Suze

@ladybug: Oh yes, the movie. It’s kind of shocking he didn’t go, she rarely goes anywhere without someone with her.

  • crimson

@ladybug: movie? Is she really making a movie?

  • ladybug

@crimson: Yes, she is! They are making Rememory, they’ve tweeted about it, though it’s not listed on their IMDB pages.

I don’t think he’s had a project in the last two years that hasn’t involved her.

  • see

what, she was out of the news a bit and had to up the ante, wedding stuff, sure that’ll get us attention again…well done
she is kind of a D-lister, she never does anything worthy of real news or reviews..

  • ladybug

@see: She’s been trying with the wedding/life partner stuff for nearly two years. It’s not always worked in terms of getting her attention.

I’m surprised that JJ didn’t mention that she was returning from a job in Japan, she had more promotional duties for SK-II. I’m wondering if her job as fashion icon isn’t helping fund Rememory.

“But don’t pity her. She makes the majority of her income — a very good income — this way. Last year, according to sources in event planning, marketing and branding, Jessica Alba and Kate Bosworth each earned $100,000 per public appearance.

Maybe they weren’t paid to attend Chanel shows — they just got to keep 15 grand worth of clothes and bags — but they were no doubt monetized for attending the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, the opening of the Montblanc concept store in Beijing, the Audi Aspen Holiday party and the Topshop/Topman store opening in L.A. ”

  • Reba

@ladybug: very interesting article; so accurately stated!

  • :)

    Mazel tov, Katie!

  • tw

dear lord, will this piece of shit ever go away?

  • Camden

I swear if it weren’t for the paps, Kate would have no career.

I find it pathetic has she still tries to remain current and relevant by
revealing private details about her relationship, tweeting personal photos and messages between her and Michael, like anyone cares.

  • ladybug

@tw: Well, there was no new post for a month, so she sort of went away.

@Reba, what I don’t understand is how someone like Kate can still pull in anywhere near those sorts of appearance fees with no acting career to back it up. But I do note that she doesn’t seem to do as many appearances as she did just a few years ago. Whether it’s because she really isn’t getting the offers anymore or because she is getting offers but she’s turning some down because they’re not paying enough or some combination I don’t know.

The Allure interview is another one full of ‘interesting’ tidbits:
“.. To highlight it, Bosworth treats her hands to the same routine as her face. “I use the SK-II Essence on my hands. My mother always told me you can tell a woman’s true age by the back of her hands,”"

So, Kate’s really in her mid 40′s/50′s? Because her hands don’t look good, not close up.

  • loons on the loose

Shut up askarsloonie! Her hands are just fine and she doesn’t look old as some of you old fat bags are saying. Go stalk Askars and leave Kate alone! Your stupid katehate only makes skarsgardfans look bad, obsessive and stoooooooopid! :D

  • Sara

Why do you people who dislike her know so much about her life and comment on it? You’re the pathetic ones.

  • Sara

Especially that ladybug chick, she’s the most sad one. Stop it.

  • ladybug

@loons on the loose: You forgot Orly fans!

@Sara, ‘chick? Really? At least you didn’t say that I hate her, because I don’t. But I don’t like her. But she’s fascinating in a weird way. She’s not interesting, but she’s one of those celebs who had just enough taste of fame to want to hang on to it, even if they don’t really have much talent. I suppose I could go over to a Jessica Alba thread and complain about her, since she’s really not any different.
The ways in which she and Alba and Hudgens and the rest try and stay relevant in HW is interesting in a way. Also sad.

  • InsertCoolNameHere

It´s a bit weak to be mentioned for a travel location, not the purpose. Not for the new pictures from Rememory or her promotion SKII in Japan … but at the airport coming home?
There are several pictures through her Twitter account and that Kate website of both projects. That would at least be more relevant and interesting to see.

  • ladybug

@InsertCoolNameHere: She didn’t get papped leaving for Japan, but seems to be very nicely put together and made up for someone coming off of a very long flight. Just in case she got papped this time, I’m sure.
I am surprised JJ didn’t mention why she was there, even though he linked to an article which I’m sure had to be pointed out to him.
As for Rememory, other than that brief article early last month, who knows other than the basic plot and that she’s the female lead and MP is directing.

WWWH, which premiered at Tribeca a year ago and got distribution deals, is showing at Vail next week.

“Coiro, whose directorial debut was in Vail in 2008, is bringing a film here for the fifth straight year – this time a feature called While We Were Here starring Kate Bosworth. …”

  • Keiko

Her with that left hand. It’s so hoity-toity. Kate’s “extra” for sure.

  • Really?

@loons on the loose: No, she’s had boney old lady hands for years. Although I was looking for a picture to show them and they do look better than they did last year so maybe that SK-II really does work, or maybe she injected something in them (a procedure I always found odd). Even with the marked improvement her hands still look almost exactly like my mother’s, who is in her mid 50′s and used to smoke when she was younger.
Personally I think Kate’s hands look so old because she is (or often is) underweight. The same thing happened to my friend when she was so underweight her doctor told her she needed to gain weight ASAP. Although Kate’s past (current?) smoking habit and/or drinking habits probably haven’t helped.

  • Really?

Okay, I know there were pictures of her hands looking really bad about two years ago, but I can’t find them. There are some good shots her her hands looking too old for her age at the following postings: Alexa Chung for Madewell Launch (September 22, 2011), Deauville Film Festival Opening Ceremony (September 2, 2011), and when she was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (September 16, 2011). Her hands definitely look better in the picture I linked above than back in September 2011, so whatever she’s been doing defiantly helps.
And I know this has been mentioned many times, but it bears repeating after one sees old pictures of her: She looks *so* much better now with the more natural shade of blonde. It complements her skin tone so much more than the fake blonde. Also, I forgot how much better looking Michael Polish looked before he started slicking back his hair! He might not have been leading man handsome, but he was pretty good looking back then. He also dressed much better. How much things can change in two years.

  • Blackcat9

Lord! With feet like these I can’t imagine her hands are any better! One word grotesque!

  • Macy

    Ewww! Those are totally nasty!

  • ladybug

@Really?: Here’s one that you posted from last month, at the TopShop show:

Her hands looked better at the NYC fashion show than they did in this year’s London FW.

As for her hair color, did you read the article linked in the post? It mentions how she’s a natural blond and that she doesn’t like dyeing her hair. Hah! She’s not been a natural blonde in a long long time. But this hair color is a better fit for her than the platinum look she was sporting until recently, that just washed her out.

@Blackcat9, where the heck is that pic from?

  • Really?

@Blackcat9: Geez. I guess that’s why her shoes look like they never fit her.
I found one. (Thanks, Google Images!):
Looking at old pictures of her is just depressing. Her knees have been creeping me out for over a year and looking back at her old pictures I now realize that it’s not genetic; She had normal, healthy looking knees and thighs as recently as 2009. It’s sad that she felt the need to do this to herself and that she’s so far gone that she actually thinks that it looks attractive. Her face was so much cuter in 2008 too. I know it’s been 5 years so she’s aged, but it was cute because it was natural and now it just looks so overdone. (I know for LA it’s not *that* bad, but it’s still too much.)

  • Really?

@ladybug: I knew there was one from one of her recent posts! Sadly that’s still better than they used to look if I’m remembering correctly.
I laughed at that. So dying your hair is bad for it, but bleaching it is alright? Okay. She really does need to cut out a lot of the BS from her interviews. I know most (if not all) celebrities lie or exaggerate in them, but she contradicts herself about the most obvious things
Seriously, does she think we don’t have eyes?
I think Kate might naturally be this shade of blonde or something close to it. I have similar coloring to her and mine was about as light as hers was in Young Americans when I was a teenager and now it’s about as dark as her current hair. Although everyone’s hair darkens differently as they age, so who knows. My childhood friend that is even closer to Kate’s coloring had her hair drastically darken from ages 21 to 25. She started out much blonder than me and now is probably a brunette (she refused to accept the change and now dyes it so I have no idea for sure).

  • ladybug

@Really?: She was naturally pretty at one point. But the 2-3 years the procedures (facial peels and whatever else she may have done) and the weight/nutrition issues have taken a toll. She’s only thirty, but it’s not just her face where she looks older.

  • ladybug

@Really?: Her interviews: There are times when I wonder if this isn’t some sort of performance art, she can’t really be that unselfaware, can she?

  • Blackcat9

@ladybug: @Ladybug I found that photo while looking for close ups of Kate’s hands. I double checked and it said Kate Bosworth! I thought when I copied the link it would take you back to the whole source page but it doesn’t. I went back and now cannot find it. I will keep looking and get back to you. While looking I could not help but notice how in her earlier photos Kate’s face was so pretty, cute and girl next door. When I look at photos of her today it is really hard to see anything left of that girl. I know weight change can effect your face some but not to this extent! Whatever Kate is doing to her face has only taken away any “pretty” that was there. Thirty is not that old. In fact I would say I looked my very best at thirty.

  • Whycantipost

Well, you seem to dislike us (or just Ladybug) and come here to comment on that. Nice one, very smart.

  • porquenon

Interestingly, the issue of Hollywood Reporter with the article on mocktresses features a lovely full-page ad for SK-II with Cate Blanchett.

  • ladybug

@Blackcat9: She was the cute girl next door and now she’s just another generic underweight HW blond.

@Whycantipost : But lurking and then complaining about how rude people are (and especially focusing on one commenter) is completely different from complaining about the subject of the post. ‘Sara’ is on the side of justice and goodness, but anyone who criticizes Kate, well they’re just meanies! :)

  • donnadew

What wedding? She’s been talking about their projected wedding for a couple of years now with absolutely NO mention of a date, dress, invitation list, nothing.

You heard it from me first: these two will never get married. There’s something wrong here.

  • Gemma

    Kate’s beautiful.
@ladybug: You’re absolutely right, the haters are silly Orlando and/or Alex fangurls. You didn’t say silly, I did.
    @Really?: Hello Texas Swede.
@porquenon: Just goes to show almost all actors are making money in more ways than acting in feature films. The business has changed dramatically and it’s perfectly acceptable.

  • Really?

@Gemma: This is the third (or is it the fourth?) time: I am NOT Texas Swede. What is with you Kate fans?

  • ladybug

@Gemma: Yes, you did say silly, but I think that’s projection on your part. Also denial. And I’ll repeat, her few fans simply don’t give her the credit for being unlikable on her own it’s nothing to do with her previous bfs.
As for her making money in fashion, well making money from commercials and appearances isn’t anything new, so you’re overdoing it the ‘dramatic’ part.
But my question remains, she doesn’t really act anymore, so calling her an actress is pushing it. And since she doesn’t really act, and when she does the movies don’t do well, who else outside the fashion world is really aware of her?
She’s hanging on to relevancy as long as she can, but without the backup of an actual acting career how long will she be able to pull in nearly 6 figures per appearance?
There’s still a part of the fashion world that seems to love her, and write completely uncritical and adoring articles about her, so she’s got that going for her. But will that be true in five years, if she still doesn’t have an acting career?

  • Keiko

But she already feeeeeeeeeels married. ;)

I agree, there is something wrong. I just can’t figure what. The only thing I can think of is that she’s holding out for some kind of photo-spread deal for the wedding. And nothing’s coming…

  • Keiko

Hmmm, where ARE Kate’s SK-II ads??

Maybe Blanchett’s are the ads outside of Korea (because she’s way more famous) and Bosworth’s are the ads for inside Korea (where’s she’s not known). I’ll give her this much: SK-II are really great products.

  • Macy

That’s been my thought for months, that she wants a spread in a magazine and nobody is offering. It was the same with her posting a photo of her ring on twitter and announcing the engagement. I think she wanted more press for that, but it flopped, so she just did it herself in hopes of it getting picked up…which is barely did.

  • Macy

It will probably be the same as her cotton ads. They aired for a couple of months, and then faded away. I haven’t seen a single SKII ad from her, and I only saw that annoying cotton commerical about 3 times.

  • Keiko

I do think the SK ads are in South Korea only. That might explain why she’s been over there a few times, is clearly working for them, but we don’t see the result. In that part of Asia (Japan included) Kate’s type of blonde girl-next door is highly favored. Koreans and Japanese do NOT like the Pam Anderson type of blonde. They don’t like caucasian women to look over-done, too sexy, or too high-maintenance. As much as I dislike Kate, I really have to admit that I’m not surprised a Korean (or if it had been Japanese) company chose her. However, I also believe they chose her as a model and not as a celebrity endorser. There’s no way she’s well-known over there. But lots and lots of models who look like her type have very nice (not high-end or super rich) careers just doing print ads. They’re not like Giselle Bundchen but they can have a nice little career for a few years just being very thin, wholesome-looking, and blonde. But I think we will only see the ads of very, very internationally known women outside of Korea.

  • Keiko

Check this out. It’s the SK-II site for the USA. No mention of K. Bosworth at all, but C. Blanchett is listed as Ambassador, as well as two un-known Japanese models.

  • Macy

Actually, that makes sense. Cate Blanchett is a lot better spokesperson for a North American market seeing as she’s so well known and respected.

  • Keiko

I had posted another comment after I posted that link to the SK site but it went into “moderation” black hole. It was a link to her SK-II commercials which aired only in Australia. So, mystery solved! Her contract is for Australia only.

I don’t want to try to post the link again in case that’s causing it to go to “moderation”, but anyone who’s curious can go to You Tube and enter something like “Kate Bosworth SK-II” and there are a handful of them. Her voice is really grating and she’s so try-hard.

  • Macy

Oh those, yes they’ve been posted before I think. That was from her first visit back a couple months ago. I wonder if she went to Japan to shoot some spots for the Japanese market.

  • Crusty

    1) I like how she states MP chose her engagement ring WHAT? ring it’s an Fookin plain gold band pretty shitty taste if he really chose that peace lump of gold as an engagement ring

    2) ewwwwwww those feet , those ankles , hard skin I cannot believe MP sucks on those toes and licks those crusty heels so the hard skin peels off. Lol

  • porquenon

    I thought TexasSwede died….

Gemma – the point is that the Hollywood Reporter issue which features the Mocktresses article is the yearly Hollywood Stylist issue (Cher is named again as a top stylist but there isn’t a picture of her with any of her clients). The article details how Ms. Bosworth and other moctresses such as Rose HuntingtonW, Jessica Alba, etc. seem to do very little acting while they get paid to show up at a fashion show, the openning of an envelope or pay to be papped wearing free designer clothes which are then mentioned along with the “papped photos”.

In this case, the irony is that while Bosworth is one of the subjects of an article in the Styliat issue and is a celebrity face of SK-II, she lacks a certain something to use her ad in place of Ms. Blanchett’s. As Macy says above, this is the same thing that happened with the cotton commercial which now features Emmy Rossum or if older ads are shown, Zoey Deschanel.

  • ladybug

@Crusty: The plain gold band is the ‘life partner’ ring that they’ve been wearing since their public debut in July 2011.

For those who doubt that she’ll actually marry MP, but she thinks he’s a visionary director! He casts her in movies!

As for SK-II, it may be a great product , pity it looks like she doesn’t use it.
