Angelina Jolie Opens All-Girls School in Afghanistan, Designs Jewelry to Fund Other Schools

Angelina Jolie has opened an all-girls in the Kabul section of Afghanistan, E! News has confirmed.

The 37-year-old UNHCR Goodwill ambassador picked the area due to its high refugee population, and because it is a region that normally favors male education over female education. The school is already educating between 200 and 300 females and has had a major positive impact on the area.

Angelina has also released a statement that she plans to open more schools using funds from her very own jewelry line, which will soon be released in stores.

“Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is also serving the mutual goal of providing for children in need,” Angelina said.

The jewels will go on sale this week, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to her new initiative, The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
