Jada Pinkett-Smith Talks Young Celebrity Bullying on 'GMA'

Jada Pinkett-Smith makes a stylish early morning arrival to her Good Morning America taping on Wednesday (April 3) in New York City.

The 41-year-old actress went on the program to talk about bullying in America and the pressures of young stars such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and more.

“It’s been interesting because I started with the idea of bullying but, I tell you something, I’ve actually expanded my ideas on that after seeing all the press on this particular subject,” Jada said. “A lot of it had to what I was seeing in the press about Taylor Swift, about Ms. [Quvenzhane] Wallis and Justin Bieber especially,”

“I think we have to be very careful that we’re not creating prejudiced attitudes….that you can justify treating a person lesser than because of certain qualities,” Jada said. “So the idea that Justin Bieber is young, famous and rich, so people go, ‘I don’t need to care about Justin Bieber. He’s Justin Bieber. He’s got the whole world. [It's] dehumanizing them because of their celebrity.”

FYI: Jada is wearing an Oscar de la Renta top, Reed Krakoff pants, Charlotte Olympia shoes, and Karine Sultan earrings.

I know its impossible, but I wish there was an age limit to celebrity :( It really does show that its not good for them.

And it doesnt just go for the young celebrities in this age of the internet.. Seems to be that its always been a bad thing.

Her face looks weird , looks like she has face fillers recently and her skin colour off too, weird orange-y.

Jada is so right! People think that celebrities don’t have feelings or hurt. We are turning into a mob society where if we “think” someone is different from us or have different attitudes or believes from the popular media we crusify them. IT’S SCARY what social media and poor journalism is doing to our country. Example, look at this whole Anne Hathaway haters – my God – what has the woman done to deserve so much hate? Just b/c some idiot started it and social media spread it and now it’s so out of control that the poor woman is devasted? The same thing with Tom Cruise haters, not for anything he did either, but just for exercising his constitutional right. GOD HELP US IF WE START PERSICUTING EACH OTHER IN THIS WAY BASED ON OUR INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES! WORLD IS GOING TO GET UGLY AND DANGEROUS VERY QUICKLY UNLESS WE PUT A STOP TO IT.

Once you became a celebrity it comes with the territory. Some people are going to like you and some are going to hate you.The more info gets published about them the more they are critiqued. Blame that on the media they are always fishing for stories and some celebs like Bieber and Lohan are always making news.

nobody is going to convince me to have sympathy with people who have this amazing life style and money .. NO WAY! Go Away Jade Pinkett Smith. Her message is simple .. Don’t talk bad about HER kids and the Friends of HER kids .. Like the Kardashians .. He support that cause because they know everybody hate them is SO SELFISH and HYPOCRIT at the end. SO HYPOCRIT !

I agree. Justin Bieber should not be bullied (if he has been). But, I do think his mother needs to bend him over her knee and give him a good spanking.

Celebrities like Justin Beiber [aka my son], Taylor Swift [aka my daughter]… Please Jada, you are so transparent!

lolllll i have no sympathy for celebrities.. they just play the victim

…and now (with tumblr/twitter) they want everyone to believe they’re normal people? hahaha no!!

Oh, come off it! Nobody is bullying Justin Bieber. He caused his own problems by behaving like a spoiled brat and a prima donna.

Let’s speak with freedom, it’s a good act and good start to stop maltreatment and giving courage to those kids who live in their fears of being bullied. At the same time us parent’s should make way to protect them. I saw a smart phone service that anytime our grownups could ask help in a press of panic button to ask for help. they could also bring to 911 escalation if it’s too serious.
