Former 'Mouseketeer' Annette Funicello: Dead at 70

Annette Funicello, who rose to fame as one of the most popular mouseketeers on The Mickey Mouse Club, has died at the age of 70.

The actress died on Monday (April 8) with her family by her side due to complications from multiple sclerosis, according to Extra.

Annette announced back in 1992 that she had been secretly living with MS and she has been in an MS coma for the past few years now. Her family decided today to pull the plug on her life support.

After getting her start as a mouseketeer, Annette broke into film by starring alongside Frankie Avalon in Beach Party.

We send our condolences to Annette‘s family and friends during this difficult time.

RIP Annette. I always loved those beach movies when I was a little kid.

I sadly thought she had passed a few years ago. I know she was a long time sufferer of MS and helped to bring attention to it. Rest in peace.

One of Disney’s Treasurers. RIP Annette. Memories of Mickey Mouse Club and Beach movies flowing through my mind right now. What happened to fun movies?
