Aubrey Plaza 'Kanyes' Will Ferrell at MTV Movie Awards 2013

Aubrey Plaza gives the thumbs up while in the audience at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards held at Sony Pictures Studios on Sunday (April 14) in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old Parks and Recreation actress, who wrote her upcoming movie’s title, The To Do List, on her chest, pulled a Kanye West when she ran on stage and struggled with Will Ferrell‘s popcorn award during his acceptance speech for Comedic Genius.

“I think she wanted to tell me something important, but there was no message,” Will said about the mishap. “It was just a lot of hot liquor breath. And, then, and a little bit of sweat. And then she ran away. But the ship sailed on.”

FYI: Aubrey is wearing a Prada dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, a Ferragamo clutch, and Dorozio jewels.

What a loser, a little fame hunger r we, I thought the bit was scripted, but no she just decided to go on stage and what exactly ? I guess make a fool of herself.

This award show was super boring.
What happened to all the “cool” people in Hollywood with talent?

This show was a complete and utter disaster from the start. Rebel Wilson was horrifying to listen to and watch, and some of the wins were horrid (Rebel winning Best Breakthrough and musical moment over Anne Hathaway just destroyed the show by far.) Her winning anything was a tragedy anyway. She’s not funny or talented.

The only cool parts were the lovely Emma Watson and Jamie Foxx accepting their Awards, and that wonderful “Catching Fire” Teaser trailer. That was badass. Loved The Hunger Games, and I love Jennifer Lawrence, so that’s gonna be another great movie. Happy that Bradley and Jenn scored 3 Awards as well. Silver Linings Playbook was such a great and fun movie. Oh, and The Avengers winning some Awards. That’s pretty cool. Everthing else was garbage. Will Ferrell’s speech went on and on and on. Not a big fan of his, and what the hell was up with The Dark Knight Rises not wining anything? Ah well, it will probably score well at the TCA.

Let’s pray to Jesus that the Teen Choice Awards, you know, the more mature and actually entertaining, funny and fun-filled Award Show, is miles better than this television tragedy. To hell with MTV and to hell with Rebel Wilson.

LOL, i love her character on Parks and Recreation. But that was pretty awkward lol. Nonetheless, people are now talking about ‘Aubrey Plaza’ (I didn’t even remember her name — but I won’t forget now, haHa). Mission Accomplished?

Of course it was scripted and these things on an award show always look a little clunky and awkward but that’s also Ferrell’s style of humor and Plaza too btw. They’ve been promoting The To Do List for the last week on MTV online and elsewhere.

This whole “it was staged” crap is really starting to annoy me. I was sitting in the 5th row on the floor and it was so flipping awkward! For those of us who actually attended the awards everyone was like “WTF”? Don’t you think if it was staged it would have been a lot more entertaining? Once we got over “what’s going on? is this supposed to be apart of the show” people just cringed. And then forgot about it. It was weird it wasn’t funny and certainly NOT STAGED.

    Olivia Says:

that was lame, Kanye pulled the best Kanye of all time

    Tony Says:

This show sucked hard. Rebel Wilson…sorry girlfriend..stick to movies not hosting. And this D-lister..no one had any idea who she was when she went up on stage. MTV is so ghetto of course there was no security. Total sh it show from start to finish.

    AJ Says:

It was a horrible show. It was soo awkward and messy, everybody seemed to have been missing their mark and queues. The mics kept goin in and out…I didnt know what was happening at times! Thank gawd I decided to watch Game of Thrones instead. I feel that, Twilight/Robsten have been winning for so many years that I dont think people knew what to do…

    ann Says:

I think that her showing up as a legit, full-picture story here just proves it was a sanctioned publicity stunt. Except for the part that no one told Will Ferrell.

    Ed Harris Says:

    Andy Kaufman is laughing…

    . Says:

@Noel: there is no whole “it was staged” crap. He was being sarcastic when he made that remark about rehearsals. Will Ferrell tried to make a joke out of it and continue with his speech. If you watch the video below, when Josh Horowitz asks him what happened, he says his side and clearly he was just as confused as any of us.
