Carey Mulligan Covers 'Vogue' May 2013 as Daisy Buchanan!

Carey Mulligan gets into character as Daisy Buchanan on the cover of Vogue‘s May 2013 issue, on newsstands April 23.

Here is what the 27-year-old Great Gatsby actress had to share with the mag:

On waiting to find out if she got the role: “I was trying to be cool, but oh, it was horrible. It was terrifying, the suspense. I was winding down on shooting Drive, so I wasn’t working that much, just waiting around for the phone to ring and for me to be disappointed.”

On making the Great Gatsby: “It was crazy and exhausting and quite overwhelming… the biggest, craziest production I’ve ever been involved in.”

On her good fortune in Hollywood: “It’s unsettling that you get exactly what you wanted. Not like some version of it, not a slightly lesser version of it, but exactly. You’re like: This is weird. It is weird.”

Carey is always amazing! So good to see her well in her american career. She’s a natural actress and a good soul. Plus, she’s married with a charming gentleman… lucky girl! Wish her all the best!

She’s so adorable and out of the amazing pictures they possibly took of her, they chose…this for the cover? Is someone out to get her?

She’s a sweetheart… Great actress who REALLY deserves an Oscar, and always so down to earth.

I can see what they were going for but it it’s a rather unflattering picture for Carey and it’s a bit too lieral. Shame as they could have had a really beautiful cover based on a 20s flapper theme

I canceled my Vogue subscription after 20 years for many reasons, horrible covers being one of them. How does Conde continue to employee Anna Wintour? Vogue is horrible now.

    Wtf? worst vogue cover ever…

    Jean Says:

The cover could be million times better… So many wonderful photos and they choose that… and with so many artificial effects. Vogue covers are always too artificial. Could be more naturally beautiful. Anyway, Carey is always great.

carey is already a skinny girl but they whittled her waist down even more, unbelievable, her thigh is larger than her stomach on the cover pic

She looks beautiful, why so much hate?

    Toni Says:

I will say she is a much better actress than Jennifer Lawrence…however…these pictures just play up the fact that she is not right for Daisy. Not striking enough. Daisy was beautiful and vapid.

    LOL Says:

she’s an unrelateable actress and that movie flopped in the 70′s and will flop again because when was the last time anyone read F. Scotts Fitzgerald?

    Oh ho Says:

Typically A. Wintour’s work…. she had to photoshop Carey’s natural figure and made her look like an emaciated concentration camp survivor. I’m enraged !&?%$/!!!
