Brad Pitt: CinemaCon 2013 Presentation for 'World War Z'!

Brad Pitt waves to the audience at the 2013 CinemaCon Off and Running: Gala Opening Night Presentation on Monday (April 15) at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 49-year-old actor presented footage from his new film World War Z during the Paramount Pictures presentation for the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners.

“Four years ago I knew nothing about Zombies but now I consider myself an expert,” Brad said (via Deadline). “This whole thing started because I just wanted to do a film my boys could see before they turned 18, one they liked anyway and they loved Zombies. So we settled on Max Brooks’ book called ‘World War Z.’ We were faced with two Herculean challenges. How do we keep the global spectacular dynamic scope of the book and how do we originate a Zombie film that’s been done quite often and really really well? What you are about to see is our answer to those two questions. We got a little carried away. I think you are going to like this as much as my boys are going to.”

The druggie and his greasy hair. Poor thing, he’s trying hard to look hip and cool for the younger crowds despite knowing he’s not A list like Depp or Downey. Nothing can save this $200m turddd from tanking. :D

    Michael K said it…

MTV got Brad Pitt to the MTV Movie Awards last night by leaving a trail of weed buds from his front door to the Sony Pictures Studio in Los Angeles and they got him to present the last award by giving him a giant bowl of Taco Bell meat and Funyuns stew. Brad Pitt showed up to the MTV Movie Awards looking so damn stoned that I bet if you sucked his mouth while plugging his ear holes with your fingers, you’d breathe in a huge cloud of weed smoke. Dude is a human bong.

Brad pulled his greasy locks into a ponytail and I know I’m supposed to hate it, but I don’t. I can’t hate it, because ***** has lunch lady hair. Lunch lady hair is the look. If you threw a hairnet over his head, he’d look like he should be throwing down a greasy slice of square pizza on your pastel green lunch tray.

Brad Pitt also has the same hairstyle as this cholo grandpa who would ride around my cousin’s neighborhood on a little boy’s bicycle and he’d sing oldies at the top of his lungs. Brad Pitt’s cholo grandpa look would be complete if he wore a clear shower cap, a gold cross necklace and had some kind of neck tattoo.

So what I’m saying is that Brad Pitt’s lunch lady/cholo grandpa hair IS the look.

    LOL!

CinemaCon: Paramount Kicks Off Convention With Brad Pitt, ‘Star Trek’, Michael Bay

With the voiceover announcing the entrance of Brad Pitt, the crowd packing the enormous Colosseum Theatre got momentarily excited.

After the Trek presentation Moore played the World War Z trailer in 3D before the voice over announcer introduced Pitt for real this time. Introducing an equally extended look at his film, which underwent expensive delays and extensive reshoots but is now finally being released June 21, Pitt made only a veiled reference to the difficulty of making a Zombie epic. “Four years ago I knew nothing about Zombies but now I consider myself an expert,” he said. “This whole thing started because I just wanted to do a film my boys could see before they turned 18, one they liked anyway and they loved Zombies. So we settled on Max Brooks’ book called World War Z. We were faced with two Herculean challenges. How do we keep the global spectacular dynamic scope of the book and how do we originate a Zombie film that’s been done quite often and really really well? What you are about to see is our answer to those two questions. We got a little carried away. I think you are going to like this as much as my boys are going to.” With that the footage showed the opening sequences of an initial Zombie attack, another where Pitt attempts to find a way to keep them out of a walled -in Jerusalem, and a harrowing scene set on an airliner where they are turned loose on the passengers. Moore confidently predicted this will be one of the biggest films of the summer and the footage shown certainly had the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Next came a brief presentation for June’s World War Z from Brad Pitt himself. Leading off the preview was the latest trailer (shown in 3D), followed by three extended 2D scenes from various points in the story. Pitt’s on-stage presence electrified the audience, but the footage itself delivered audible positive reactions. The combination of Pitt and an apocalyptic summer blockbuster is definitely starting to show its potential. While the footage itself bears loose resemblances to the book it’s based on, general audiences probably won’t care. Competition in June will be stiff, but interest in World War Z just kicked up a notch or two as far as the CinemaCon crowd is concerned.

Pothead considering himself an expert? LMAO, what does he know about italian zombies, or Romero zombies. From the way he ruined that adaptation -creating a dumbed down, PG-13, gore-less film-, it looks like he took a crash course on zombie lore by smoking up a brick of afghan hashish, and playing “Plants vs Zombies”. LOL.

And yes, way to describe it Pitty- you just admitted you ruined your chances of making a decent zombie film just so that your kids can admire you for it. There’s a reason why every zombie movie that’s been a hit was made with adult audiences in mind. I hope you enjoy another flop! :D

Brad does promotions based on movies’ budget. For WWZ, it is a big budget, he also produces, he will promote hell out of it. The promotion is starting. Brad rocks.

    twitter Says:

This person gets it. This is what WWZ is supposed to be. A big, fun, scary, silly, summer action movie.

“Can the World War Z movie be as amazing as Max Brooks’ oral history novel? Probably not, but that’s doesn’t mean it can’t be an interesting action movie all on its own. We saw a ton of intense, brutal footage at CinemaCon — including one set piece you’ll be talking about for days.

We’ve found a way to make peace with the World War Z movie: By disassociating the film the book. After getting bludgeoned by the relentless footage we saw tonight, we finally get WWZ. It’s a big dumb scary movie, that might just keep you on the edge of your chair for hours.

Before the actual short screening, Brad Pitt said he wanted to make a movie his sons could see (before they were 18) that they would actually like. And they’re really into zombies. He should say this before anybody watches the trailer, because it all makes sense now. This movie is basically a Hollywood version of your child’s backyard fantasy. Blow everything straight to hell. And once we got on board with that, it was actually quite fun.

It is so intense, if you can make it through this movie without blacking out after the relentless scares, you’re going to have fun. It’s like Transformers, back when Transformers was fun — only not terrible and with no shaky-cam. But every bit as silly.”

I’m really getting a bit excited about WWZ. I’m also relieved it’s reportedly avoided being too gory. Gore isn’t necessary for scaring the living daylights out of people or creating a suspense filled scenario.
