American Idol contestant Angie Miller gives an emotional performance of the song “I’ll Stand By You” dedicated to her hometown of Boston during the live show on Wednesday (April 17).

Fifth Harmony did it better

She looks and sounds (when speaking) like Miley Cyrus, but is definitely a superior singer!

Comparing Angie pounding out a passionate version on the piano, and dedicating it to her home town city that was just bombed, to 5th Harmony’s version is like comparing the Mona Lisa to a cartoon.

So sad that the internet gives birth voices like yours Anna.

Terrific performance, however Pia Toscano did that song better

What a powerful performance! Prayers go out to the city of Boston, the victims, their families.

Awesome dedication! Average performances. People are actually posting “better” performances. Angie didn’t always sing in the correct key, and changed various tone compositions. This removed lots of the original emotion from the Pretenders track . Halo, is an outstanding song. She did sing much like the original… However, after the second chorus falsetto, Beyonce sings, “Everywhere I’m looking now, I’m surrounded by your embrace.” After Angie’s falsetto, she yelled whatever came to mind, as if she forgot lyrics. Like her Evanescence rendition, she chooses songs with powerful emotion, but diverts from the original. Great voice! Just needs to remember, “This is a competition.”
