Boston Bruins: National Anthem Taken Over by Crowd (Video)

At the first sporting event held in Boston since the deadly bombings earlier this week, the crowd at the Boston Bruins game took over the National Anthem in a tear-jerking moment.

Singer Rene Rancourt took to the ice to sing the Star Spangled Banner, but he was quickly overtaken by the audience’s singing and he decided to stop and let the crowd have a special moment.

Three people were killed during the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon on Monday (April 15) and several hundred were injured. Celebrities poured out sympathies that day on Twitter to all of the victims and their loved ones.

Amazing! Stay strong, Boston!

Amazing and beautiful. You’ll get through this, Boston.

Let them sing their own songs. Unless you are trying to claim that they sang our anthem in support? Don’t think so.

this made me tear up.

I’m not even American but that brought me to tears…wow.
I’m also simply impressed by the fact that everyone seemed to know the verses. That can’t be said for every nation that sings their anthem.

Do they know the anthem for Syria by any chance?

Guardians of the homeland,
Upon you be peace,
Proud spirits refuse to be humiliated.
The den of the Arab is a sacred sanctuary,
and the throne of the suns is a preserve that will not be subjugated.

The quarters of Syria are towers in height,
which are in dialogue with the zenith of the skies.
A land resplendent with brilliant suns,
becoming a painted portrait before the sky

The flutter of hopes and the beat of the heart,
are on a flag belonging to one and all,
Is there not life in every eye,
and ink from every martyr’s blood?

[Our] spirits are defiant and [our] history is glorious,
Let our martyrs’ souls be formidable guardians.
“Al-Walid” is from us and so is “al-Rashid”,
so why wouldn’t we prosper
And why wouldn’t we rebuild?
