New 'Star Wars' Movies Coming Every Year Starting in 2015!

Amazing news for all Star Wars fans out there – new films in the franchise will be released every year starting in 2015!

Disney, which acquired the rights to the property last year, announced the exciting plans on Wednesday (April 17) during its panel at 2013 CinemaCon.

The first film to be released will be J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: Episode VII. The next film will be a spinoff and then each alternating year will bring additional numeral and spinoff flicks.

No word yet on which characters the spinoff films will be based on, but Entertainment Weekly has speculated that they could be about a young Han Solo or even Boba Fett.
