Backstreet Boys: Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony!

Backstreet Boys: Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony!

The Backstreet Boys hold up their plaques while being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (April 22) in Hollywood.

The guys – A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, and Brian Littrell – brought along their family members for the special occasion and they all laid down with their heads next to the star for a pic!

Music producer Max Martin was the special guest at the ceremony and JustJared.com spywitnesses tell us that all five guys got choked up while speaking. Congratulations BSB!!!

They really r just giving these away these day’s aren’t they?!! I mean, I know Hollywood has kinda been hollowood from the beginning; but this is like an all time low. Manufactured boy band sings overproduced songs they did not right, become washed up rehabilitated drug addicts and are rewarded with a star on the Hollywood walk of fame? These stars really mean nothing these days!!!

# 2

Ahh, congrats.

# 3

@James: ok except they’re a top selling act that’s sold millions of albums.
there were over 1,000 fans at just that star inauguration.
I’m not necessarily a fan, but they’re clearly famous, were hugely successful and still have a large following today.
sounds worthy of a star to me.
if u don’t like it, create your own walk of and on your neighborhood side walk.

# 4

@james wow..sweety…relax…take a breath!! hahaha!! congrats to BSB!! =)

# 5

they actually don’t give them away.
you have to apply, a board approves, then it is the celeb who had to pay the cost of the star and inaugural event.
kinda dumb.

As someone who used to be a “fan” of this boyband back in the day, I just have to say… “Wow!” If I could go back in time and tell my 11 year old self not to buy those albums, I would.

I think they’ve just taken any credibility this walk of fame had and destroyed the remains. They have not been relevant since 2001.

# 7

They haven’t been relevant for years. If they can’t maintain relevance for at least a decade, exactly why do they deserve this?

@James: The star on the walk of fame you take it for your professional trajectory, not your personal life.

They have sold 100 million records worldwide, with successful tours, many #1 singles and Top 10 worldwide. They have well deserved that star.

@jai: Totally Agree, they still have Sold Outs concerts worldwide.

CONGRATS BSB!!! FOR 20 YEARS MORE!!!!

why are people on here so irrate? u all are a bunch of crazies.
it’s the Hollywood walk of fame, not the Nobel prize.
bsb is famous. they get a star. boo hoo.
suck it up asshats.

The Backstreet Boys have been making music for 20 years, have sold over 130 million CDs worldwide and were in the Top 30 Moneymaking Music Artists 2011-2012 due to a combination of their own world tour supporting This Is Us and the NKOTBSB superworldtour. While they may not be YOUR cup of tea, after 20 years and having 2 albums in Soundscan’s top selling albums ever–I think they’ve earned their star. And please note the “rehabilitated” in your little diatribe. The two Boys that had troubles are now sober, happy, with families (or in Nick’s case, a wedding on the way). How many actors were “products” within the old Hollywood system? Too many to count, but they created a product that made people happy. The Backstreet Boys have made millions happy and I for one, am glad they have their star–I Want It That Way!!!

@James: ‘they did not right’ … hmm.. ok… pretty sure they did WRITE some of their songs. but whatever you know..

@Bessie: @Yohji: Sor, you’ve been living under a rock while they’ve been touring and make mad cash. what’s your definition of relevant? like Jennifer Aniston and Rachel McAdams still make films, all suck and bomb at the box office but they’re tabloid and pap fodder so they’re still ‘relevant’? Bsb got a star. go home and cry about it.

Yay! I’ve been a fan from the beginning

Really? They give those stars to everyone…
The talented artists, actors… like Richard Burton, for example, took years and years to get.
So… this is really sad.

Congrats to them and yes they deserved this.
They are the best selling male group of all time and have been at it for 20 years.
Also no they don’t give these away.
1)You or someone else has to apply
2)The board decides if they want to give you one
3)You have to decide if you want it and even then you have to pay for the star.

Don’t even act like the BSB don’t deserve this. They owned they 90s. Nothing to cry over, folks. There’s more important things to worry about in the world. Can you name another *boy band* that has been around for 20 years? Doubt it.

I was going to add some cents in, but clearly Marianna you are KTBSPA! Way to go girl. But I did have something to say to Bessie AKA the “Fallen Angel” What in the world happened that made you stop being a fan? BSB songs have matured with their fans. I for one owe my life to them, as most Backstreet fans do, (you wouldn’t understand since you aren’t a fan anymore) which is a shame really! Just because they dropped off for like 3 years and then came back, and what, now you’re not a fan. Heart breaking and sad! CONGRATS BSB on Your star! I just want to say its been a LONG time coming! Here’s to the Backstreet Movie (can’t wait) The New album (REALLY REALLY can’t wait) The tour (YES) and to 20 MORE YEARS! Way to go guys! -And That Makes You Larger Than Life!!!

@James:

This one was not touched on. Can’t let this one go down: You sir need to do just a little more research. You know all the bad, but none of the good. Backstreet Boys have written their own songs on EVERY CD since Millennium. So there ya go! CONGRATS AGAIN GUYS! KTBSPA!

Haters will hate, but the rest of us will be fans for life KTBSPA!!! We know its deserved, just late than anything else hahaha #bsb20yrsmore Can’t wait for the new tour!!!

I’m happy for them.I have verry good memorries of their music.now I’m 22 and i was a fan sine 7.
Congratulations BSB.I love you guys!

@Rae: Yeah, I guess I’ve been living under a rock like the rest of the world who are also commenting on this! And McAdams stars in the odd film like Midnight in Paris and To the Wonder, but she also balances it out with box office successes like The Vow. What a random comment.

@Rae: Where did I say that Jennifer Aniston and Rachel McAdams were deserving of stars? Stop feeding words in my mouth you simpleton. If I had my way, noone over the age of 50 who is still alive should get a star on that Walk of Fame. It SHOULD have standards. Giving it to people who are willing to pay for it themselves is just sad.

@Sstutler12: Well thank you for your civil comment… unlike some of your fellow BSB fans. Hun to be honest, I guess I stopped being a fan when I didn’t care what they were up to after Black and Blue. I was young and I guess you could say I outgrew them but I don’t want to insult BSB fans who grew up with them. I guess i just plainly lost interest… but I didn’t or don’t dislike them, I was just like “meh, whatever” about them when they made their comeback in 2005.

I’m not necessarily a fan, but they’re clearly famous, were hugely successful and still have a large following today.

Yay, congrats!!!

@Bessie: under the age. Obviously.
