Jamie Foxx: Daddy Warbucks Role in Quvenzhane Wallis' 'Annie'

Jamie Foxx is in talks to star as Benjamin Stacks in an adaptation of the classic musical Annie, according to THR.

The 45-year-old actor would be starring opposite Quvenzhane Wallis in the Will Smith and Jay-Z produced flick.

Annie, an updated version of the classic musical, centers on “Benjamin Stacks (Foxx), a variation of the Daddy Warbucks personage, who takes in the spunky orphan girl (Wallis).

The flick is aiming to start shooting in late fall for an anticipated 2014 release.

The movie just sounds bad. Why is there a need to remake it and why has Annie gone from a lovable red head? Think they will lose the heart of what the actual story is. Jamie Fox is nowhere near a good casting decision. No wonder Willow Smith dropped out even she saw how it would suck.

Not to sound racist but I can’t see any white people going to see a “black” version of Annie.
