Kate Bosworth: 'Big Sur' International Poster Revealed!

Kate Bosworth: 'Big Sur' International Poster Revealed!

Kate Bosworth shields her eyes from the sun while leaving a chiropractor’s office on Thursday afternoon (May 9) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

That afternoon, the 30-year-old actress’ fiance Michael Polish tweeted out the international poster for their new film Big Sur.

“The more ups and downs, the more joy I feel. The greater the fear, the greater the happiness I feel,” Michael wrote along with the poster.

Big Sur, a recounting of Jack Kerouac’s three sojourns to the cabin in Big Sur, owned by poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, has been making its way around the festival circuit.

FYI: Kate is wearing the Ragdoll Slouchy Long Sleeve, Faded Black Tiger.

    can’t wait to see Stana Katic in this movie :)

    ““The more ups and downs, the more joy I feel. The greater the fear, the greater the happiness I feel,” Michael wrote.” He didn’t technically write it, it’s a Kerouac quote from Big Sur.

    And this still doesn’t have a distributor.

    She just happened to be papped leaving her chiropractor’s office?

  • Keiko

    LOL, at MP’s “poetic” tweets.

  • Melrose

    wait, what?? she’s ACTUALLY in a movie? and not just showing up at fashion shows and going to Whole Foods? crazy times.

  • Tulip

    I can’t wait to see this movie! I really like the international poster.

  • Blackcat9

    Thank you Kate for covering up! I am SO grateful not to have to look at your gross ass legs! Too bad it looks like you have lightened your hair again it was actually looking slightly better! Now it has the over bleached fly aways!

  • James

    I too want to see this movie! The cinematography looks beautiful!!

  • @Blackcat9

    You don’t have to look at Kate at all. You choose to because you’re strangely obsessed with her. Get a life.

  • Blackcat9

    @@Blackcat9:WOW! your mother raised a genius!

  • U make ragdoll look tacky

    And typical your wearing mrs Bjorns brand of clothing range rag doll, which I do like
    however you make it look tacky and look like you got it from a second hand store

  • ladybug

    @Blackcat9: It does look lighter, even considering the difference in the lighting conditions. Did we miss a salon pap opportunity?

    And for those who want to see Big Sur in the theater, MP is trying to get it sold at Cannes Marketplace:

  • Keiko

    @U make ragdoll look tacky:

    No, the clothes are crappy. Bosworth is not so horrible that she can make well-made clothes look awful. The clothes are just awful. It’s not her fault this time. Embarrassing that Lisa is trying to pass herself off as a designer. She clearly has no talent and no ambition. She’s only selling this “range” by brown-nosing to her B-list and C-list Hollywood friends. I find it pathetic. I always find it pathetic when low-talent, lazy people force themselves into Hollywood because they are desperate for fame and attention, and have wasted years when they could have actually be studying and learning a real trade.

  • mforman

    I just read a great comment by I cannot believe I am saying this but it was made by GOOP, she all of a sudden says that at the MET GALA she cannot believe how gorgeous Miranda Kerr is. The actual quote was “Miranda Kerr is abnormally beautiful.”
    I am sorry but that is such a shot at the creature and boy is it obvious. I have never, ever heard GOOP talk nicely about anybody other then herself and all of a sudden at this years MET GALA she brings up Miranda of everybody.
    I love it and it made my day.
    The creature and the hobbit have never looked so bad, I don’t know what is going on with them but whatever it is they both need to look into a mirror and just stop. The creatures face has never looked this plastic and he just looks ridiculous.
    The saddest part is that they obviously see nothing wrong.
    Chelsea Lately is going to be another joke, but it will be funny to watch to see what stupid things KB says this time.

  • Get it Right

    This is the correct story. She was throwing shade at Miranda.

    There’s more. G doubles down on the MET Gala Girl Sh-t with a few amazing remarks about Miranda Kerr. If you’ve been following Miranda Kerr, you’ll have some idea of what Gwyneth might think of her. Of her MET Gala encounter with Miranda, G told Entertainment Weekly that:

    “She was wearing a black Michael Kors dress that was sort of like a sparkling bandeau, and her whole stomach was showing. It was really beautiful. It was a little punk-y. She’s just so pretty, it’s abnormal. I was like, ‘Is it weird to be that pretty?’” the Iron Man 3 actress recalled, laughing. “And she was like, ‘No.’” (Source)

    Only Gwyneth Paltrow could make “pretty” feel embarrassing. Only Gwyneth Paltrow could condescend to someone for their prettiness. It’s almost aristocratic

  • Keiko

    @Get it Right:

    The Big Question is why? Why Miranda Kerr? What’s the motive? There has to be a motive. Snobby b*itches like Goop always have a motive.

  • Belle

    @Keiko – Hi Keiko, I think our lovely friend mforman alluded to it: basically, GOOP’s husband, Chris Martin was allegedly having a bit of slap & tickle with the beige b*tch just before she got together with Askars (convenient indeed!) – they were at a music concert and were apparently making out in full view of people so the rumours went out…but were never corroborated/denied/refuted etc. Ever since then, Bos-ho’ has been shunned from the A-List crowd that GOOP mixes with (think Stella McC, Kate H, Liv T et al – and don’t forget a few years back they even allowed KB to hang with them at the Met Gala of all places – not now, not ever!) and this could well be, as mforman says, a wry sharp side attack on KB for being succeeded to Orlando Bloom (her “true love”) by the beautiful Miranda. ;-) And yes, GOOP has a motive – she’s a cool calculating one, having chosen the Met Gala, once again, to launch the critical attack – I think KB deserves it and has found her match – woe be the day she decided to mess with the GOOP and her husband….

  • Keiko

    @Belle:

    I was responding to Get it Right, actually. I believe she is quoting from Lainey, though she doesn’t credit her. Her theory doesn’t make sense. There’s no motive for “throwing shade at Miranda Kerr”. It makes more sense that she’d throw shade at Kate Bosworth, but I find it really, really surprising that Goop would bother after all these years.

  • ladybug

    Lainey did appear to think that it was Goop throwing shade at Miranda. Some of the comments at Celebitchy are pretty sure Goop was throwing shade at KB, which makes a heck of a lot more sense.

    http://www.celebitchy.com/296888/gwyneth_paltrow_will_never_deign_to_attend_the_met_gala_ever_again_it_was_so_un-fun/

  • HaHa

    Some others are saying the Ms Paltrow was throwing shade at Kardasian and Madonna. She said to the Aussies in a interview that some of us are too old for punk. She threw shade all over. That makes a heck of a lot more sense.

  • Macy

    Do this girl’s movies ever get picked up? Lots of VOD and Polish is still looking for distribution two years later.

  • ladybug

    @Macy: And While We Were Here is also going limited release/VOD this August/September:

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/well-go-acquires-all-north-447336

    Homefront will probably get picked up, but considering the recent box office results of Jason Statham movies, that might not do very well either.

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    Statham isn’t exactly a big draw these days. The fame from Transporter seems long gone.

  • ladybug

    @Macy: Last fall, when she was cast, I’d mentioned that she might actually be in a movie that people would go see. And someone corrected me and pointed out that Statham hasn’t made a truly successful movie in years.

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    Is Statham still with RHW? If so, that’s an interesting casting decision seeing as how she and RHW are supposedly friends and both clients of Cher.

  • ladybug

    @Macy: Yes, they’re still a couple. I wonder if that’s not how she got the part, since they’re friends.

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    I’ve wondered that too. I’m not sure how much influence RHW would have but it is an interesting connection.

  • ladybug

    Why must fashion writers be so gag-inducing?

    “.. The Brit brand has been tantalising us with details on its festival collection for months and today, Grazia Daily can exclusively bring you another sneak peek. This time, it comes in video form and gives us a glimpse of the festie-perfect designs. But who’s that fairy-like figure posing in the wilderness?

    We’re sworn to secrecy (for now) but considering she’s THE festival queen, we’re sure you can guess >wink wink< Either way, those pink feather wings are going straight to the top of our wishlist…"

    http://www.graziadaily.co.uk/fashion/news/topshop-festival-collection

  • OMG

    Directors and studios make casting decisions not actors. Unless, of course, it’s a very high power actor like a Brad Pitt. JS isn’t in that position. I really like the HF cast.

  • ladybug

    @OMG:Let me clarify: not that he made sure she was hired, but that he either suggested to casting that she be considered or let her know there was part that she might be interested in.

    It’s not as if she’s done a lot of movies in the last two years.

  • ladybug

    And here’s their short ‘film’ for Topshop, it’s breathtaking in its beauty and originality (kind of sad that she doesn’t ‘sing’ in this one):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4ASUAm7Ps8

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    Actually that one is much better than the Winter Wonderland “film”. It’s also better than most of the JM stuff.

  • ladybug

    @Macy: It is better, but it also looks like something a 12 year old could put together on their iPhone. There’s just nothing interesting there.
    But perhaps I just don’t understand his ‘visionary’ film making? :)

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    So I take it you were being sarcastic in the earlier post? LOL

  • ladybug

    @Macy: Just a teeny bit! :)

    But this really isn’t anything exciting, she’s wandering around aimlessly near Mono Lake. You can’t even tell what she’s wearing. Is she selling clothes? Herself? Mono Lake? The music?

    “Kate said: ‘I’ve always had a love of fashion. To gain learning experience from the Topshop design team has been a great opportunity for me. Our intent was to create fresh, wearable, and effortless festival pieces. I am proud of our work together and I adore these pieces.’”

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2325012/Topshop-launches-festival-fashion-collection—little-help-boho-babe-Kate-Bosworth.html

    Fresh? While none of these pieces are ugly, not one is either ‘fresh’ or original.

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    Agreed, they’re all things that have been done before. Wispy dresses, and vests aren’t exactly groundbreaking. I don’t get the wings either. Do they really expect someone to strap on wings for a concert? Halloween maybe, but outdoor concert when it’s 100 degrees, no thanks.

  • ladybug

    @Macy: Apparently this collection is very appropriate for Lollapalooza:

    “But back to Bosworth and her sartorial picks, which have arrived just in time for The Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, and Glastonbury”..

    And she’s a western girl at heart: Well, I love anything cowboy really. I’m a true western girl at heart.

    http://www.elle.com/news/fashion-style/kate-bosworth-for-topshop-festival-collection?src=spr_TWITTER&spr_id=1448_8705511&q5673895=1

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
    Gag! Just because you wear the occasional western themed shirt doesn’t make you a cowgirl.

  • Whycantipost

    @ladybug:

    AND GUESS WHO DID THE VIDEO? The hobbit emerged from the crypt and took the time to put together a couple of blurry shots of a woman walking around in clothes we can barely see because of the blurry shots. Only the head shots of his ‘life partner’ are focussed.

    Guess they are selling c…rap,because that is all I could make of it; clothes weren’t visible, the music almost gave me a heart attack in the beginning, so guess the goal is confusing, annoying and entertaining us. Good job MP -.-

  • Whycantipost

    You know.. for some reason I think MP might be using Kate, as silly as it might sound. Before Kate no one knew who he was and now he is doing commercials for Topshop. I know it sounds silly because KB isn’t such a celeb herself, but she has name-recognition in HW (for fashion/bfs/ex-bf’s, not acting HA). Without her he wouldn’t have landed this gig. As much as KB annoys me, doing a collection/promotion for Topshop is a nice gig.

    Also wondering how this all is done; does he tell her she can only do ‘package-deals’? She as the actress, he as the director? Or is it her idea: ‘I can’t be without my life partner for 5 minutes, so he also has to show up at my job all the time’. Ugh, why do I care so much? I must be fascinated xD

  • Keiko

    @ladybug:

    God, that was awful. Her “walking” is horrible and she has NO expression. These two try-hards are a laughingstock.

  • ladybug

    @Macy: It doesn’t, and I’m pretty sure that she doesn’t really have clue what grunge is, either.
    And note the article points out that she ‘curated’ the collection, not really designed it. Even though the lead up to this had been that she was the designer.

    @Whycantipost: I don’t think he’s really using her, but I think he is enjoying the the ‘perks’ of some of her fashion stuff, she gets paid to go to parties and she gets a lot a swag. I think he likes that. And if you look at his twitter feed, Levi’s is mentioning that he’s wearing their stuff. Why Levi’s thinks his name will help sell their clothing I have no idea.
    I think he’s bought into her lifestyle, plus he gets to film his ‘life partner’ for these ‘films’. And he casts her in her films. All two of them that he’s done in the last two years.

    “Programmer Sean Uyehara, who’s been hanging out with Polish in the bar upstairs, dares to ask “What was it like to fall in love on the set?” Polish replies “It took me ten films to fall in love on the set!,” whereupon Kate Bosworth says “I wish I had gone to the bar!” But Polish continues, saying that he said to his first AD, “I’m going to marry this girl!” during her first scene.

    Bosworth confesses that she was just hoping she wasn’t screwing up the scene, because she wanted to work with him again. But then she realized “Not only do I want to work with him again — I don’t want to let him out of my sight! Which is different than most directors I’ve known.”"

  • Keiko

    @ladybug:

    That’s pretty rich since she had a boyfriend (supposedly?) already while on set. *sigh* What a cheating, lying, opportunist.

  • Keiko

    LMAO, this is funny: //And I guess it would have been difficult indeed to re-dress the actual City Lights Bookstore with period-appropriate books, but it’s still jarring to see “The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady” prominently displayed in several shots when it came out 8 years after Kerouac died — and twenty years after the movie is set.//

  • Suze

    I don’t understand the point of the video. It does nothing to show the clothing line. From what I can see, it’s nothing that hasn’t been done before.

  • Heidi

    So funny the posters who bash KB are all silly AS fans. AS would think so highly of you. (Note the sarcasm)
    The TS video is sensational. Beautifully shot and I love the clothes!

  • ladybug

    @Suze: It’s rather like the later JM videos, when they seemed to forget that they were supposed to be selling the jewelry.

    @Heidi, ah, another ‘people who hate Kate are just jealous fangirls’. Except it’s her ‘fans’ that keep brining him up. Just can’t quit him, can you?

  • Angel

    Saw BR with a bunch of girlfriends last night. It scared the he*l out of us. The acting was excellent. The ending was brutal.

  • Keiko

    @Angel:

    You had me until “the acting was brilliant”.

    Girl, don’t even try that.

  • Whycantipost

    @Heidi/Angel: Kate/Michael/PR-person, please leave this thread! It is not polite to kiss your own behind!

  • Suze

    @ladybug: He should realize that not everyone is as in love with her as they both are. Show the product you are promoting, simple as that.
