Bill Hader Leaving 'Saturday Night Live' After Eight Seasons

Bill Hader has officially announced that he is leaving the sketch comedy late night show Saturday Night Live after eight seasons.

“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” the 34-year-old funnyman told the New York Times about his choice. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’”

Some of Bill‘s most famous characters included Stefon, Weekend Update correspondent obsessed with strange clubs, James Carville, Julian Assange, and a slew of hilarious game show hosts.

Saturday Night Live‘s season finale airs this Saturday (May 18) – tune in to catch Bill‘s last episode with the show.

They said that when, Murray, Chase, Murphy, Sandler, Ferrell, etc. left too. All it does it open the door for someone new.

Sad :( He’s like the best one on there!!!

Too bad, but Taran could “take” his place!

Nooo not Stefan! How will I learn about NYC hot spots now?!?!? :D

It’s sad that Bill Hader will no longer be on the next season of SNL, but this could be good because maybe we’ll get to see him on the big screen. It was a sad day when I walked into my office at DISH this morning because several of my coworkers have loved his Stefon character. Although he only has one episode left on the show, I’m excited to get it recorded on my DISH Hopper along with my other favorite skits of his. I have 1,250 SD or 450 HD hours of recording space, so I can forever archive the final season of SNL with Hader, and still be able to record numerous other series without ever having to think about deleting memorable moments of Stefon.
