Taylor Swift - Billboard Music Awards 2013 Performance (Video)

Taylor Swift has some fun with her backup dancers during her performance at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 19) in Las Vegas.

The 23-year-old singer started her performance of “22″ backstage before getting wheeled through the audience and making her way to the stage.

In case you missed it, check out photos of Taylor walking the blue carpet earlier in the night.

Taylor is nominated for eleven awards during the show tonight. We can’t wait to find out if she will win some!

FYI: Taylor is wearing a Junk Food Clothing t-shirt.

  • Sarah.

Funny.. she sounded great and there were times it was really, really bad. At least she sang live though! Looked like she had fun on stage. :)

  • Ivy

Taylor looked amazing. Even with the unicorn t-shirt, she was easily the best looking female there tonight.

  • R

I understand that some people are naturally skinny… but she looks very, very ill.

  • ew

    @R: and you’re still fat

  • mickey

  • Sophia

hahahahahahahaha her unicorn shirt killed me! hahahaha so pathetic…

  • liz

wtfffffff… she looked hot on the red carpet, but no amount of professional styling can conceal her nerdiness. lol. she needs voice lessons… there is NO reason her voice should be that flat since she has been singing consistently all these years. dancing lessons wouldn’t hurt either.

  • Marilyn

22 but she looks about 12.

  • selena

she ripped off Britney’s Iconic 07 VMA performance a bit.

  • Melrose

Pic 2 needs to be photoshopped with *something* being inserted in her mouth

So haters SORRY, We’re very sorry. sorry if taylor swift wins 8 awards out of 11. I’m sorry, because she is so pathetic that’s why she won :) She’s so very sorry! Swifties really proud! I love you so much! Congratulations from swifties here the PHILIPPINES! :)

  • Rach

How can anyone listen to that and actually think it was good? Her voice is so flat, constantly! She talks sings in a shrill yet flat monotone… SO HORRIBLE!

  • OKAY

It’s kind of a scary thought but it’s obvious that Taylor owns the music industry right now. Where you think her music is crap or creative and catchy…she owns it. Her albums are platinum, she had endorsement coming out the wazoo, when blinks her eyes she makes $100K. Kinda depressing.

  • TellIt

@OKAY: It’s because her stock-broker daddy pays for everything and is on the ACM board and The Grammy board. They bought their way into the biz. # Truth

  • sela

@liz: lol well you know she’s normally a consistent singing it’s just flat & off key bc she’s ‘dancing’. it’s surprisingly difficult to sing live while moving much less running around. anything that speeds up your breathing makes it harder.. that’s why people who do a ton of dancing have often used tracks/lip syncing bc it’s very hard to stay on key the whole time & keep up the performance. i personally think it’s better to have a track going & also sing live with it, that way you can still hear them but the sound doesn’t go to shit just bc they’re dancing.

Strong, elegant, and at times, questionable fashion statements were made during last night’s big Billboard Music Awards fete, broadcasted live on ABC, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan took on the evening’s hosting duties with ease, as his comedic chops took center stage. From the likes of Christina Aguilera and Pitbull debuting their latest single, “Feel This Moment,” to Jennifer Lopez’s red hot, latin inspired choreographed number, “Live It Up,” there was surely never a dull moment on stage. Bruno Mars opened the show with a sparkling, yellow diamond like backdrop, as his synchronized band donned matching red suits, while debuting “Treasure,” before thousands of screaming fans, admirers, and fellow artists, all on the bill and getting ready to perform. The Band Perry made a big name for themselves, after their creative drum solos, in debuting ‘Done,’ after Sugarland’s own, Jennifer Nettles, proudly introduced them. Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift put on quite the show, as they immediately set the ‘good girl’ and ‘role model’ vibe, as Gomez performed a Bollywood’esque version of her latest single, “Come and Get It,” in a very feminine, elegant, and lilac Indian Sari, amongst gorgeous white streamers, providing a fantasy like backdrop, while Swift donned a bright blue t-shirt and high waisted British inspired, blue jean shorts, as she started her number, “22,” backstage, with her fellow dancers. Big red balloons then slowly fell upon the crowd, as Swift quickly made her way on stage, ultimately ending her performance with a bang. Chris Brown added his name to the lineup, while performing his latest single, “Fine China,” as newcomers, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, took home the “New Artist” award, with their summer anthem, “Thrift Shop,” being a big hit and winner amongst Billboard voters. Justin Bieber and Will I Am surely didn’t disappoint, as Bieber accepted the ‘Milestone’ award, despite receiving a less than thrilled throng of booing fans, and performing a high energy, robotic like performance of “Got That Power” with his mentor. Nicki Minaj and Prince ended the night on a high note, as they took it upon themselves to create buzzworthy performances, as Prince was presented with the ‘Icon’ award, and Minaj ‘creatively’ collaborated onstage with Lil Wayne. Also on the bill for the evening, were Madonna, who accepted Billboard’s “Biggest Touring” award, as well as pop sensation, Miguel, with his own dramatic moment, as he almost injured a fan whilst on stage, and Ed Sheeran, as they both sang their latest singles, “Lego House,” and “Adorn.” The evening’s biggest presenters included “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” crooner Psy, who provided a well-timed, comedic throwback to the 70′s, whilst joining host Tracy Morgan on stage for a segment, as both adorned matching afros and glasses, Miley Cyrus, who wore a white beaded, encrusted jumpsuit, embedded with black diamonds, a questionable character in Kid Rock, as he displayed strange behavior, especially while unapologetically dropping the mic and ranting about previous artists’ lip synched performances, ‘Kick Ass 2,’ ‘Hugo,’ and ‘Dark Shadows’ actress Chloe Grace Moretz, Revenge’s own, Gabriel Mann, and Castle’s Stana Katic, amongst many other celebrities, representing ABC. The Billboard Music Awards kicked off the summer on the right note, and in my opinion, the best way possible, in only the way that Las Vegas knows how, with celebrating music’s biggest party of the year! What was your favorite moment of the evening’s events? Sound off below!

  • Marika

Bow down to your queen, bitches.
    Hater gonna hate.

  • nickee

I think she has an amazing voice… have any of you actually listened to people singing live these days, well the ones that dont lip sync everything, lol She did awesome. I love the haters, cause they can hate all they want, but she is music royalty right now. Not to mention she is laughing all the way to the bank, losers! hahaha

  • Lola

@TellIt: agreed. My cousin in the music business told me so so many stories about how her wealth, and her family history bought her that record deal, and the country awards, but that being said, he also said she’s talented, so I suppose it’s kind of fair, but not fair enough that many real country talents are kicked to the curb, but that’s showbusiness, anyone who sucks, or f%%ks or pays their way through will make it. #truth

  • Brooklyn

Sure, the singing isn’t anything to write home about, but I was there, and this performance lit up the whole arena. Her energy is incredible.
