Alexander Skarsgard: 'Doing Evil Stuff This Year' on 'True Blood'

Alexander Skarsgard rocks a black hat and shades while stepping out of his hotel on Wednesday (May 22) in New York City.

That same day, the 36-year-old Swedish actor was spotted sporting a light blue shirt while walking around the city in the afternoon.

Alexander recently revealed what we can expect from his character Eric on the upcoming sixth season of HBO’s True Blood.

“[Eric's] doing some evil stuff this year, some stuff that’s not so nice,” Alexander expressed. “It’s fun to go back and forth, you get to play around with both (good and evil) sides. It’s always more interesting than one extreme or the other when you have both within, and it’s an internal struggle.”

    hmm Says:

    Hmm, he really building up his muscles. Will he be swinging from vine to vine as Tarzan after all?

    ladybug Says:

    @hmm: The way he’s talked in a couple of interviews, he’s making it sound like it’s really just a delay in greenlighting it, not that it’s totally dead.

    Macy Says:

    He looks really good here. I don’t see the supposed mark on his neck that some people were talking about, but maybe my eyes are faulty.

    JenJen Says:

    I love him in a tee, cap & jeans so simple yet so perfect. I do wish he’d find jeans that weren’t stained.

    @hmm and ladybug I hope he is bulking up for other reasons. I know he needs a leading breakout role but Tarzan is not good in my opinion. Every interpretation of Tarzan I have seen is too cheesy and pretty boyish and ends up like Brenda Fraser in George of the Jungle.

    @JenJen:
    Thanks. It doesn’t look like a hickey to me, just a scratch, shaving cut or possibly a pimple.

    As for Tarzan, I do have qualms, but on the other hand David Yates is involved, so I’m hoping if it happens it won’t be all cheese, it’ll be a little darker and grittier.

    JenJen Says:

    @Macy

    I don’t think it’s a hickey either. It could be but it could also be anything else, but that’s what people are talking about.

    @ Ladybug if it does go through I’m hoping for an edgier more dramatic Taran as well. Fingers crossed.

    Macy Says:

    @JenJen:
    Yeah it doesn’t look that way to me, but then there are lots of people who are just desperate to prove that he’s hooking up all over the place. Could he be? Sure. Do we actually know this for sure? Nope.

    ladybug Says:

    @Macy: It’s awful tiny to be a hickey, unless it’s from Tinker Belle. I remember last February during his trip to New York he wore his scarf seemingly everywhere (including inside) for the first couple of days and there was speculation/hope that he was covering a hickey. He wasn’t.

    @JenJen, I just got the impression that the edgier Tarzan was the direction they were going for, I’d like to think that Alex and Yates wouldn’t be interested if it was just some variation of the cheesy stuff that’s been done over the years.

    And he’s back in LA:

    Macy Says:

    @ladybug:
    LOL, I remember that. Didn’t he also wear a scarf in Hawaii for Battleship promotion? I think he just went through a scarf phase.

  11. 11
    JenJen Says:

    @ Macy people love to speculate. I guess it’s better to speculate about a hickey than other things.

    @ladybug I have faith in Alex and Yates but I think Tarzan is one of those stories that can easily veer off into cheesy territory. Hopefully we get confirmation sometime soon.
    I still hope he gets a role like Daniel Day Lewis gets. I think he could handle it, but I know he has to work his way up and I have to be patient.

    Have either of you had the chance to see any of the 3 movies Alex has out?

  12. 12
    ladybug Says:

    @JenJen: WMK and Disconnect have not and will not be playing in my area, but there’s a good chance The East will, though not until June.

    Cafélady Says:

    @JenJen: “I guess it’s better to speculate about a hickey than other things.”

    I TOTALLY agree on that. Even though I also don’t think that it is a hickey – to me it looks like a pimple or a mosquito bite.
    +++++++

    As for his hint what (evil) stuff eric will do this season: Yes! I’m totally ok with that – presently I’m sooo much in “want doing evil stuff”-mode…no, I will not do that in real (of course)…it will be enough to see it through eric’s eyes…unfortunately I have to wait quite long for it, until I can see s6…so until that this aggressive mood is long over then, I guess…and with that this pesky divorce-circus too, I hope….

  14. 14
    Macy Says:

    @JenJen:
    No I haven’t seen any of them. The guy that owns my local theater is a bonehead most of the time and only brings in smaller, arty movies if they win awards or have commercial success. He brought in The King’s Speech about two weeks AFTER it won academy awards even though it was pretty much out on dvd at that time. Here’s hoping for The East because he certainly didn’t bring the other two in.

    Desperate chick? Says:

    So where is the chick he bonked all night? told her to piss off and ditched her in NY and moved onto another desperate chick which we shell soon get pixs off in la

  16. 16
    Rachel Says:

    I’m excited to hear that this season will bring back a darker Eric, and I’m curious to see how evil he becomes. I’m glad that even though I work the night shift at DISH, I won’t miss out on any episodes this season. I use my DISH Anywhere app to keep up with the shows I watch. The app streams shows I record on my DVR, to my tablet, and I spend my train home watching episodes I missed.

    @Macy:

    “Yeah it doesn’t look that way to me, but then there are lots of people who are just desperate to prove that he’s hooking up all over the place. Could he be? Sure. Do we actually know this for sure? Nope.”

    *** And we have a winner! This is EXACTLY the point I have been trying to make while all the fan-girls were sh*tting themselves because someone dared to challenge their unfounded assumptions about Alex’s sex life and sexual lifestyle.

    Get It Right Keiko Says:

    Get it right Keiko.

    It’s the fangirls like yourself and a few others on JJ that **** bricks at the thought of Alex hooking up all over the place.
    It gets you all worked up.

    Same way you get worked up over Brit Marling.

  19. 19
    Lillian Says:

    I have totally lost interest in this show. Loved it for the first 2-3 seasons and then it just got too weird and unbeliavably stupid

  20. 20
    didi Says:

    @Desperate chick?: check out photo links on todays Celebitchy site of Alex leaving a bar in NYC with a blond in the early a.m.

  21. 21
    Macy Says:

    @Keiko:
    Yeah, I don’t care either way. It just gets annoying having him connected to any female in a vicinity, especially with the repeatedly stupid 20 something blond model posts that are incomprehensibly written. If he is dating someone then good for him, and I hope that person is much better for him than his last choice but I don’t think he is seeing anyone. If he’s hooking up, then also good for him, but either way we won’t know that unless he wants to bring someone out in public.

  22. 22
    catie Says:

    still looks like a pimple – LOL – hickeys are a bit high schoolish anyway.
    But ya know the guy is not celibate.

    Have you read the Tarzan books? They aren’t all the cheesy loincloth deal –
    can be of the Indiana Jones adventure type stories – which I think is what the films would focus on.Could be a great showcase for him – a chance to take advantage of his physicality – his comic timing and of course his utter sexiness.

    Saw The East – it is okay – a vehicle to show off Brit Marling – no steamy love scenes – it is PG 13 rated after all.

  23. 23
    Cadulech Says:

    @didi:
    Well i hope he find himself another Kate B

  24. 24
    Cafélady Says:

    @catie: A new Tarzan movie has not to be automatically cheesy, I agree. But books aren’t movies. There are a lot examples for good movie-adaptations – but also the other way around. So it all depends on the script, the director and -of course- the actors. I guess, it could be a good possibility for him, to show another side of him as an actor. But it could also be a risk (‘George of the jungle’ was already mentioned). But I guess, alex knows what he is doing – I doubt, that he accept the role if the script should be bad. (As far as I know, nothing is confirmed up to now, anyway)
    But sometimes it can also happen, that you find a script interesting and believe the movie could become something special or at least good – but when the movie is done, it happen that it isn’t as good as you thought first. I think there is always a rest-risk.

    Cafélady Says:

    I like it always when we can see old pictures of him (from the 90′s)… :)
