'Fast & Furious 6' Tops Box Office Over 'After Earth' & 'Now You See Me'

It was a huge competition for the movies this weekend, with Will and Jaden Smith‘s After Earth and ensemble cast Now You See Me competing in their opening weekends.

Taking the number one spot, however, was returning action flick Fast & Furious 6, which brought in $34.5 million, according to THR.

Now You See Me, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco, nabbed the second highest grossing spot with $28 million earned.

After Earth came in just behind Now You See Me with $27 million after Will and Jaden completed a huge press tour for the film.

Rounding out the top five were Epic and Star Trek Into Darkness, which both brought in $16.4 million.

Also opening this weekend was Alexander Skarsgard‘s The East in several theaters in NYC and Los Angeles, bringing in a total of just over seventy five thousand dollars.
