Michael Douglas Attends Cancer Event After Clearing Up Oral Sex Comments

Michael Douglas hits the red carpet at the American Cancer Society’s One Centennial Sensation event held at the Hudson Theatre on Monday (June 3) in New York City.

The 68-year-old actor stepped out to celebrate the organization’s 100th birthday the same day he had to clarify comments he made that led people to believe he blamed oral sex as the cause of his throat cancer.

“In a discussion with the newspaper, they talked about the causes of oral cancer, one of which was oral sex, which is noted and has been known for a while now,” Michael‘s rep said in a statement.

Michael simply was trying to say that one of the causes of oral cancer is oral sex, not that his cancer was caused by it.
