Henry Cavill & Amy Adams Cover 'Interview' June/July 2013

Henry Cavill and Amy Adams heat up the cover of Interview magazine‘s June/July 2013 issue, on newsstands June 18.

Here is what the Man of Steel co-stars had to share with the mag:

Henry on having real chemistry with Amy: “For me, it’s more like I go to work, I do a job, I play a role, and then I go home. I don’t wear a cape at home. I’m not an invulnerable alien at home. I’m not in love with a woman called Lois Lane at home. I know there are a lot of people who get very involved I their characters, but I, personally, find it too involved. I just like to do it as a job— and it’s my job to make it look real.”

Henry on his emotions: “As much as I do love real-life stories they can often make you hurt in a way I’d rather not hurt. But I think that the hurt aspect is just something that exists in a lot of great stories because people can associate with it. If there’s one thing that we’re very good at as humans, it’s remembering the bad stuff. For some reason, it’s always the pain that gets you.”

Amy on filming her latest project in Boston during the bombings: “It was surreal. But I’m not somebody to sort of personalize a tragedy like that, unless it’s something that happened to me personally, so I felt like the important thing at that point was to reach out to the community. The people in Boston— their sense of community is so important to them. So instead of making it about my personal drama, I saw it more as a personal mission to reach out and try to help the people who were affected by it however we could.”

How does that first quote have anything to do with chemistry with Amy Adams?

its a nice cover. to be honest i never really read these interviews because acting is their job so i never know how genuine they are in regards to their responses no matter how much i want to believe it true.

# 3

I love Interview Magazine!

# 4

henry seems like a cool dude. its a job and not more.

# 5

He comes across as much more intelligent and thought-provoking than in media pieces of the past several weeks. I really like this interview a lot.

@Happy_Evil_Dude:

He’s saying his JOB is to have chemistry on-camera. He doesn’t need to have chemistry with his co-stars off-camera. That’s what he’s saying. This is one of the best replies to this type of question I have ever read from a celebrity. They’re usually like “so and so is sooooo awesome”, “we had an instant connection”, “we got to be super tight and he/she is now one of my best friends” and on and on and on. Think Alexander Skarsgard. It’s fake, it’s desperate, it’s gross. I love that Henry Cavill is like “Chemistry? Whatever. I’m here to act and that’s all.”

# 7

I sounded that he didn’t have chemistry with amy

Look closely at the cover page, Amy’s one eye is almost completely closed while the other looks like as if she’s squinting. It looks awful. Interview couldn’t pick a picture where both eyes were at same level? There must have been plenty of good pictures to choose from the photo shoot. Or at least they could have photo shopped that bit.

Beautiful photos, they look great together!!

He seems cool and not fake like all the other celebs. Basically he said that it doesn’t matter if he’s friends with Amy Adams in real life or not because it’s acting. What you see on screen doesn’t necessarily have to be true off-screen. Just because he plays a superhero in a movie doesn’t make him a hero in real life. While filming, he has to create that chemistry with his colleague even if there isn’t any.

@Amelie:

maybe they are not close friends or bff but they have chemistry and respect, I love this: youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ic94UY3nX5o I really enjoyed it LOL

Wow love his responses, he really cuts through all that ‘celebrity’ bs, especially with the first and last question.

One of many things I love about Henry Cavill is he’s the real deal. What you see is what you get. He doesn’t say what others want to hear. He tells the truth and he seems incredibly sincere. He’s an actor and that’s what he does. So many actors/actresses have to have the drama they “think” comes with being an actor/actress. The only drama that comes with it is the drama they create for themselves.

i would give anything to see a gay superman man movies made

Love both of them. Henry seems like a very cool guy. I love that he is very candid and doesn’t say the usual hollywood bs.

@Gucci: no it doesn’t. It’s just a guy giving a real honest answer and not your typical actor croc of **** they usually spin to sell their movie. He’s just being genuine. You don’t need to have chemistry with someone in order to do your job if you’re a good actor.you could hate each other but when the director yells action you do your job and make it believable.which is acting. You’re supposed to pretend to have chemistry lol
THats the whole point of ACTING. they usually pretend like they are tight with co stars. ANd they are such great friends with such awesome chemistry from the moment they met but its usually 99% of the time total bullshit. I respect Him for telling it like it is,

I get his answer but it still comes off as somewhat rude. He could have said something nice about her. She is so pretty, classy and great.

Laureen W. Hernandez @ 07/09/2013 at 7:11 am

@Linda, I agree with you there’s a thin line between being frank and being rude, He should have said something nice about her. Amy is actually very pretty, elegant, honest and most respectable actress there is. For me she even have the best facial features and one of the most beautiful in business.

I have a hunch though that Henry is just being tactful because He knows that Amy has a boyfriend. He don’t want to get carried away cause there are several interviews that they are caught off guard staring each other and whispering as if there’s something going on. If only Amy is single Henry would really fall into this beauty. It’s obvious he is just holding off his feelings and the first statement is a bit sourgrape. Take that from me, I practice psychology and I know how an Alpha man thinks and says especially if he’s around with a very beautiful woman that he knows is already taken….. It’s more than being frank, Actions speaks louder than words.

The female reporter’s gaydar goes off on Henry as she struggles very hard to extract out of him anything about what he likes in a woman.

He “refuses to discuss his current relationship, with 30-year-old actress Gina Carano, a martial arts expert and the star of Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire. It forces me to go to ****increasingly ludicrous length**** in order to get any insight into his taste in women. “Look,” he chuckles, as *****my questions get ever more farcical.**** (…) He ***clams up*** when I demand physical specifics. What, for example, is his favourite female body part? ****“Pardon?” Henry blinks twice.**** His favourite female body part? The part he’d rip off and gnaw on if he could? After a ****stuttering start,**** the man becomes a poet. “Well, what’s great is a woman’s shape as a whole,” he says earnestly. “I mean, no artist could imagine a more beautiful shape. It’s incredible. A man can look attractive, beautiful even, but nothing like a woman naked. That’s why women would rather look at other naked women than at men.” (Glamour UK, June 2013)

@ghey: I’m sorry to disappoint you, but he’s not gay. He is bi. Here’s why: radar/G8d8r/et al.

He not only dined with Gina in Rome on Mon. Oct. 7, but likely also slept with her. Here’s indirect proof from Henry’s trailer from Gina’s Instagram account: goo.gl/4dDvL0

Other similar trailers (same swirl sign): goo.gl/lNoaXx

His pics on the movie set the next day Oct. 8 after the dinner & sex clearly show him happy for the first time since arriving in Italy: goo.gl/g6zdvK

He also had serious plans with Gina & introduced her to his parents (see this pic with his father goo.gl/ppTs6I), but they did not like her. That’s why he looked so sad in so many red carpet pictures with her, not because of disinterest in her/being gay/bearding, but because his parents disapproved of her. Hopefully, for Henry’s happiness, they will reconsider.

I should also say that I do believe their dinner was leaked in advance by his PR to the paps, who were thus able to pap the most perfect pics on Earth. That toast pic looks like the 2 waited a couple seconds just to make sure the paps got the best shot possible. Also, Henry could have chosen to be seated inside, since he knew full well he was being hounded by paps (even inside a church a few days before!). Instead he chose to be seated outside, perhaps to help get papped better. Last, but not least, holding wine glasses in their hands, the 2 stood up while everybody else remained seated at their tables around them. Why?! To talk better?! Or to be seen & papped better?!

There are many reasons why his PR leaked the dinner to the paps: to make him “happen” in the tabloids & advance his career, to squash gay rumors here & elsewhere, and/or to change his “lonely & sad” “dumped” meme after the PR fiasco with the MOS revenue boosting showmance with Cuoco.

Having said all these, despite a hack PR job with their dinner, I still believe the two likely slept together, not just dined together, as Henry’s happy mood for the first time since arriving in Italy the next day & trailer pic prove.
