Brad Pitt Reacts to 'Killing Them Softly' Co-Star James Gandolfini's Death

Brad Pitt has released a statement about his former co-star James Gandolfini, who passed away at 51 while vacationing in Italy of a heart attack.

The 49-year-old actor starred with James in the 2001 movie The Mexican, in the late Tony Scott‘s 1993 movie True Romance, as well as last year’s Killing Them Softly.

“I admire Jimmy as a ferocious actor, a gentle soul and a genuinely funny man,” Brad said. “I am fortunate to have sat across the table from him and am gutted by this loss. I wish his family strength and some semblance of peace.”

Our thoughts remain with James and his loved ones during this tragic time.

Brad Pitt On James Gandolfini, His Co-Star In ‘The Mexican’ And ‘Killing Them Softly’

Brad Pitt, opening this weekend in World War Z, has issued a statement on the passing of James Gandolini at age 51. They starred together, along with Julia Roberts in the Gore Verbinski-directed The Mexican, a movie that came along just as Gandolfini was watching his star rise because of The Sopranos. More recently they starred in Killing Them Softly, and they also appeared in the Tony Scott-directed True Romance, in which Pitt played a small but memorable role as a stoner.

Jared needs to do his research. Killing Them Softly was a very dark movie but really good.

Rest in Peace James. He was a great actor.

@Brad:

Stop being such a ******** they have worked together. and just like all the other celebs that have given reactions why is it wrong for Brad who also knew the man to do so. I hope people here see how completely sick these haters are. Using this man’s death to make a snide comment about an actor who is just expressing his feelings..

# 8

Brad will say anything at this point to sell that stinker bomb of a movie.

Pathetic

Brad has co-starred with Gandolfini since the 1990s. They’ve been in 3 movies with the last one at Brad’s instigation. I think it’s pretty stupid ot even think Brad’s commnets are motivated by PR.
.
There are some fools like the OhCanada and her various alter egos who will say anything without putting their brain in gear for one second.
.
Brad has always been and is still considered one of the nicest and most decent guys in the industry.

@what??:

Take your meds. All of them.

So everyone he has done a show or movie with should now go releasing statements? Brad didn’t need to make ANY statement. No other co-star with James has had their PR people put out statements.

The movie sucks. Accept it

Not a Brangelina fan, but if memory serves, BP was a huge fan of Gadolfini and initiated him working on the Mexican years ago. So I don’t think this is PR at all.

Other celebs commented on his passing. I guess they were all pimping themselves. If Brad was doing this for PR (which he sincerely not doing), he would’ve be the 1st one to comment on James death. Brad had worked with James since 1993. Other celebs who spoke out on James death have never even work with James before. Haters will fine anything to attack Brad.
