David Beckham Sends Well Wishes to Those Injured at His China Event

David Beckham greets fans outside of the Regal International East Asia Hotel after doing a press conference on Thursday (June 20) in Shanghai, China.

The 38-year-old soccer star later visited Tongji University, where a dangerous stampede occurred to catch a glimpse of the star.

“Sorry I couldn’t get out on the pitch to see the teams. It was impossible to get through the massive crowds,” David wrote on his Weibo account (via the Telegraph), wishing the injured stampede victims “a speedy recovery.”

David also payed a visit to Shanghai Vice Mayor Zhao Wen that same day at the government building.
