Brad Pitt: 'World War Z' Fan Surprise in Spain!

Brad Pitt flashes a smile while stopping for a surprise appearance at Capitol Cinema during the premiere of his latest film World War Z on Friday (June 21) in Madrid, Spain.

Earlier in the day, the 49-year-old actor was spotted holding hands with his daughters Zahara, 8, and Shiloh, 7, while visiting the famous Kremlin complex in Russia.

“I would read that Brad Pitt and I had no communication, and we would look at each other and say, where could this come from? Is somebody just making up these stories? When articles like those come out and start spreading, it causes you to take a look at yourself, but the thing is, I never doubted the movie, or my own intuition,” director Marc Forster recently shared to Deadline about the flick.

I agreee he looks happy and relaxed.I like his clothing style, when your travelling a lot you want unfussy clothes.
His photo shoot for USA TODAY is great, he is no longer interested in the big production photo shoots and comes with his own clothes.
He is a man happy in his own skin. I think Angie’s surgery has been a turning point. Hope he continues to speak as he wants.
Heres to WWZ confounding those who wanted it to fail.

Paramount and Brad Pitt’s zombie thriller ‘World War Z” is having no trouble infecting audiences–the big-budget actioner could break $60 million weekend in what should amount to a record-breaking weekend for Hollywood at the U.S. box office.

Never before have three films earned more than $50 million each during a non-holiday frame, but, according to early estimates, the $50 mil trifecta is certainly within reach.

At $60 million, “World War Z” would also be Brad Pitt’s best debut of his career, topping the 2005 opening weekend of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” ($50.4 million).

”World War Z” is ticking slightly behind the projected No. 1 performer, Disney/Pixar’s “Monsters University,” which is currently tracking at $67-72 million for the weekend, although box office analysts warn “World War Z” could rise Friday night and possible surpass “Monsters U” in what would be one of the biggest B.O. upsets of the summer.
“Anything’s possible at this point,” one exec says, but as of Friday afternoon, “Monsters U” is the clear winner.
In third place, Warners’ “Man of Steel” continues to attract audiences in its second weekend with a 60% week-to-week drop and estimated $50 million.
In less than one week of release, “Man of Steel” has grossed $242 million worldwide.

High Five for Brad overcoming all the propaganda surrounding his WWZ while worrying about Angie as well…….no wonder he looks so happy he has come out the others side of a not so great year at home or at work.

Brad is having a ball. Lucky girls to be such great travelers.
The BO looks great and the Top Critics last I looked had it at 76% at RT. This could be huge with lots of repeat business.

Passing Through @ 06/21/2013 at 8:19 pm

I see we had a couple of new threads today, so I need to play catch up. Ijust got back from seeing WWZ and I’ll give it a B+ – but only because, oddly enough, I didn’t care for the ending. And by that I mean the last 5 minutes or so of the resolution scene. I don’t what they paid Lindelof but it was a tad too much for such a so-so ending. It felt like a “Let’s wrap this puppy up” ending and could have used a bit more bang – literally – for my buck. I’d have made Israel the ending and the ending the 2nd act…but they didn’t consult me, which was a mistake on their part. Brad needs to holla at me next time. I’ll hook him up with a better idea…
PS – SPOILERISH</b?…when a man has been unconscious for a period of time? SOMEONE should take pity on him and treat his face wounds and wipe the blood off his face. Just sayin'…

wwz without benefits @ 06/21/2013 at 8:20 pm

There’s actually nothing wrong with the idea. The problem is that the film is so ridiculously expensive that (I suspect) that the odds that it’s going to be profitable are relatively low.

After all, if “The Walking Dead” has taught us anything, it that zombies are in vogue (which is a double-edged sword: practical zombies are popular, CG zombies, I suspect not.

I will see WWZ tomorrow. We have bad storms here. I’m so mad, but tomorrow will be the day. So happy about the numbers. I hope they hold.

So don’t forget there is suppose to be a party here the weekend. all the haters are invited to kiss our ass***

Wonderbust @ 06/21/2013 at 8:22 pm

@wwz without benefits:
SORRY troll the film cost $190 and will make a killing Worldwide. Currently it is putting up worldwide number on par with man of steel and even inception in some markets. so a 400plus WW is a definite and 500mil WW is very likely, try AGAIN

Graet minds think alike and daunt trolls :)

Wonderbust @ 06/21/2013 at 8:31 pm

Reposting just for the trolls so concerned about WWZ making a profit.
Paramount is reporting early numbers for World War Z in its day-and-date global premiere. The film took in $3.6 million from North America and added $5.7 million from its first round of overseas markets. World War Z grossed a total of $9.3M worldwide in its opening day.
South Korea opened to a robust $1.5 million single-day gross, anticipating a strong showing throughout the weekend. The opening day numbers for World War Z in South Korea are higher than those of Man of Steel ($1.1M), Inception ($941k), and Rise of the Planet of the Apes ($739k).
Australia performed similarly well, posting $1.1 million for the film’s opening day. It was a better opening than Inception ($1.1M) and Rise of the Planet of the Apes ($712k). Australia is the only major overseas market where World War Z will be virtually unopposed this weekend, with Man of Steel on deck to premiere on June 27.
World War Z more than doubled the opening day gross of Man of Steel in Argentina, opening on a midweek holiday for $710k. It is the third highest Thursday opening of all time in the territory.

Brad Pitt looks plain ugly. Only a brad-fan couldnt see how ugly he looks.

fillers, much?

Wonderbust @ 06/21/2013 at 8:33 pm

Troll meltdown, lol.

Brad Pitt looks soooo awful. This brangelina-stans are delusional and crazy. He looks like he gained weight only in the face. Ewww.

groundcontrol @ 06/21/2013 at 8:43 pm

They ARE amusing. I hope their meds hold out – it’s going to be a long, long weekend for them. Hell, it’s going to be a long summer what with the wedding most likely coming up and Ticky’s break up with her gigolo. Poor dears.

I guess those who had been planning to “partay” and gloat in these threads because of the “WWZ flop” have to revise their evil gloating and focus on Brad’s looks since they cannot taunt us about the box office anymore. I love it and look forward to seeing the movie tomorrow.

# 4 Brad Pitt’s Injections @ 06/21/2013 at 7:08 pm
That round, puffy look to his face is the evidence of injections. It’s not weight gain, as he appears to be fit and there’s no change in his neck size either. The dude is totally shooting Juvederm or something similar into his face. I also think he’s got extensions in his hair. If you can see a shot from behind you’ll know what I mean. You can see the layers where the real hair stops and the extensions begin. And his clothes….yuck, I won’t even get started.
@reply | flag this

Hahahaha yes. Not only does his face look like a doll face his hair looks fake as well. So weird to see him like that. It is funny how people say he doesn’t try to look good when you see his new face and extensions. He is trying but FAILING hard at looking good.

vickifromtexas @ 06/21/2013 at 8:47 pm

What ever do you mean by he doesn’t need that type of promotion? He has gone above and beyond for this movie. The promo tour was quite embarrassing to be realio.

Now that’s real, have you ever seen Pitt sr? i think brad is going to grow old like his father. no injections, just gain some weight and getting older, all of us. his father looks good, though.

@wwz without benefits:
I swear the troll copied this from one of the film sites, these trolls are sick

Now that's real @ 06/21/2013 at 8:54 pm

Have you seen him with your glasses on, dude? my question to you is do you have good bifocals? If not you might want to check in on that eye issue. brad pitt’s brother is also average and his sister is a bit below.. shiloh and Vanessa will take after her of they look anything like pitt, I don’t know because I haven’t seen photos of them in ages.

I saw WWZ today.. and BRAD PITT is very beautiful in that film. I was looking at tweets and they agree.. The man still has it in spades.

I love his eyes,his body,sorry angie

The great truth about Brad-WWZ real war against the critics. Hope he wins in the end like he normally do. He is Brad Pitt and if he have win the love of Angie he will win the love of all world for this movie. But you are right :

the media has gone ABOVE and BEYOND to trash this movie before it came out. Have you ever seen a popular magazine like Vanity Fair do a whole cover about the production woes of a movie. @The Brad effect:
I so agree. The media critics went out of their way to trash a movie they HAD NOT EVEN SEEN YET! They thought they could get away with it when they did it to The Tourist, but The Tourist went on to become box office Gold!
They tried it on WWZ and Brad threw down the gauntlet and went on a promotion spree to the FANS!!! Yes Brad! The fans and non fans are LOVING WWZ and spreading the word.
The VP at my job today said he went to see WWZ last night – Thursday NIGHT and LOVED it and is going back to see it again. And he is not even a Brad Pitt fan. I was thrilled to hear him say that.

bravo poppa pitt!!!! congrates!bless u.and ur family.

vickifromtexas @ 06/21/2013 at 8:47 pm

hello to groundcontrol, falp, rose, phool, tita, tlol, anoble, anustin, and all lovely jolie-pitt fans.

back @ ya momma.

FRIDAY 3:30 PM, 3RD UPDATE: Here’s how the domestic box office is looking right now based on matinee trends, according to my sources. Disney/Pixar’s 3D toon prequel Monsters University (playing in 4,004 theaters) is opening and easy #1with $25M-$28M Friday (not including Thursday’s tally) and a likely $75M weekend. That would make it Pixar’s second highest opening ever, behind only Toy Story 3. Placing #2 is Paramount’s World War Z (3,607 theaters) co-financed with Skydance Productions which is looking like $20M Friday and $50M-$55M for the weekend which has the studio giddy with relief after all that pre-release bad buzz for Brad Pitt’s zombie pic. In #3 is last weekend’s top opener, Warner Bros’ and Legendary Pictures’ Man Of Steel (in the widest release, 4,207 theaters), with $17M-$19M Friday and around $50M. Summer 2013 still sizzles as Hollywood execs say there’s never been a 3-day weekend with 3 different movies doing $50+M domestic box office. And they claim statistics show only one original movie a year opens at $50M. “Franchises open bigger but originals play to better multiples as people start discovering them,” one Paramount mogul tells me. More later.

Love the JoliePitts @ 06/21/2013 at 9:47 pm

Premalee, thank you so much for the story on Angelina filming and narrating her report on the Syrian Refugees. Looks like Angelina is utilizing all of her skills as a Director and a filmmaker in myriad ways to get the message out.
I am calling for a miracle to bring the warring parties in the fight in Syria to the Table of Reason. We need Peace and we need it now more than ever.
Reposting it here:

If WWZ have a 20M opening on Friday, 60M on 3 days is highly possible . Right now it’s just opening in 25% of international market and was already beating MOS opening in several market.

Reaching 500 million on worldwide market is not a problem at all !!!

Where’s the hater troll ? WWZ is a blockbuster not flop !!!!

cesar - Wheel of Life @ 06/21/2013 at 10:28 pm

Someone in the Angie thread, i think it was ” Dawne ” , ask for the meaning of Angie golden Chain ?

I have check and i´m 100% convinced that it is a ” Wheel of Life ” from India and Tibetan Buddhist.

The bhavacakra is popularly referred to as the wheel of life. This term is also translated as wheel of cyclic existence or wheel of becoming.

Angie is not a Christian like her mother but i don´t know if she is really a Atheist. I believed that she respect all the faiths and try to understand all the biggest faiths but i bet that she like the kind of interior experience and romanticism that Buddhism brings.

The “Wheel of Life” even exist in center of the Indian flag. It have near the center 8 “rights” and 16 realms of form…. but it´s a little complex to explain. If you want to know more, there is this link:

The other golden piece in the chain i don´t get what it is. it looks a kind of rock or tooth in pear form but …. but the first i´m positive that it is the “Wheel of Life” for sure. kiss

Brad is just back to his normal weight right now, he lost weight to film WWZ and had to stay thin for a long time because of the reshoots. Now he is probably back on his normal diet. He also looks extremely fit in the body, almost Troylike, droolz droolz and more droolz!

Brad was right to bring it to the fans. They are the ones with the money to buy seats in the theaters. They are the ones who will get word out to those who don’t know anything about the movie or to those who have only heard negativity about it.

@lulu:Paramount can thank Brad Pitt for the success of WWZ, he has sold this movie with his charm and good looks. I think Angie has rubbed off on Brad, he was not going to take NO for an answer, when all the naysayers were writing off the movie, he dug in his heels and went out and sold the movie himself,. I think I’m prouder tonight of being a JP fan, than at any other time. And not just because of WWZ, but also because of Angie and her unwavering devotion to the down trodden of this world, Sorry JP Haters, but they’ll be building snowmen in helll before you’ll ever win against Brad and Angie.

I think Brad learned a lesson with the Assassination of Jesse James movie. Maybe if he’d promoted it like he did WWZ, it would have made a lot of money. It was such a good film and he was so great in it.

were the morons @ 06/21/2013 at 10:43 pm

Just came back from seeing WWZ! It was awesome.

He did promote it. This is apple to oranges, paramount was 100% behind wwz. Warners Brothers wasn’t behind jesse james and they dumped the film, you couldn’t even find the movie to watch if you wanted to. And again wwz is a blockbuster jesse is a slow long drama, not even comparable.

WWZ was great summer movie. Not perfect but darn fun.
I have to search and see if the media is writing about The Lone Ranger production problems like they wrote about WWZ. I have a feeling the answer is no.
Brad has gained weight but not a lot. Just like his brother, the Pitts seems to carry weight in their cheeks. Just like when Brad was a baby.

I have check and i´m 100% convinced that it is a ” Wheel of Life ” from India and Tibetan Buddhist.
The bhavacakra is popularly referred to as the wheel of life. This term is also translated as wheel of cyclic existence or wheel of becoming.

The “Wheel of Life” even exist in center of the Indian flag. It have near the center 8 “rights” and 16 realms of form….

The long wait has been well, well worth it. I just got back from World War Z and I’m still trying to wind myself down from the nonstop action.

I found myself constantly twitching, jumping, closing my eyes, I thought zombies were flying out at me thanks to the 3d… OMG! I’m happy to report it wasn’t TOO gory and unnecessarily graphic but still extremely thrilling. Bravo, Brad, bravo!

Aww, Brad was such a family man in this movie, very reminiscent of his real life relationship with Angie and the kids. Maybe it’s just me, but I found his outfit with the scarf very rugged and sexy.

I think Angie will be in New York on Monday 24 June with William Hague. He will hand over the report on sexual violence at the UN Security Council.

UPDATE SATURDAY 1:11AM– “World War Z,” according to estimates, made $23.5 million on Friday, and is headed to a $57 million weekend. This is a major win for Pitt, director Marc Forster and Paramount after reshooting a quarter of the film, and getting a lot of grief in the process. But the movie is a hit, critically and financially. Rest assured there will be a sequel. Brad has worked tirelessly for the last two weeks promoting “WWZ” everywhere except Mars. And it’s paid off.

I’ll make a deal with you, trollette – If WWZ opens with less than your estimate of $18MIL then I’ll go over to FF and apologize for making fun of Ticky for…well…her entire career. However, WHEN WWZ opens north of $18MIL you, and the rest of the trolls (Tampon included) will go away and never come back here – and that includes all of your alters, too.) We BOTH know WWZ will open over $50MIL so I KNOW you’re not going to take my bet. That’s what’s wrong with you trolls – all talk and nothing to back it up. WWZ should open way over $50MIL so this ought to be pretty danged funny.

Where’s Tampon and her alters? Dumb ass biitch is hiding under her rock hoping I would forget about my challenge to them knowing they will never make good on it. For all their yippingn about us ragging on Ticky they know they live and breathe all things Jolie-Pitt and would be suicidal if they couldn’t come here everyday to wack off.
And, simply because I can’t resist…this is what the troll posted on April 30th. I espcially enjoyed the hilarious comments from Fat Fvckers that the fool brought over here. Undoubtedly tonight that FFers were rabidly watching the BO numbers that were posted here hoping against hope that they’d be right abot something for a change. Those dumb cows are 0-for-8 1/2 years and probably O for the lifetimes.-

It really sounds like it’s going to be a mess. Maybe an interesting or enjoyable mess, but a mess nonetheless. I feel bad for Forster as nothing I’ve read suggests he was ever really running the show. It just seems like he was a director for hire in regards to this particular film, but if it’s a disaster apparently it’s all on him.
That cover is dreadful. If you have a blurred background, the subject should be in sharp focus (as shown in the second pic). Brad has a lot of lines at this point, so if you aren’t willing to put that on the cover, choose a softer photo rather than haphazardly (and obviously; was the person who did this new to airbrushing?) blurring out wrinkles.
Sade says:

Yep, this will be a mess. The only question is will it be a “Waterworld” mess or a “Godzilla” mess. You know a film sucks when the marketting strategy is to talk down expectations. Lol.
After Tree of Life, my girlfriends and I swore to boycott Brad Pitt forever, but i may find a pirated copy to gauge how bad it really is,

Mess indeed. The expectations for the opening numbers aren’t that high either. The pushed back dates said a lot. It only went downhill from there on (the Hollywood Reporter’s articles on the production mess). And sorry but Pitt thinking that Lindelof of all people was a good choice, damn what is wrong with his decision making skills?! Even Lindelof can see it’s a mess, that is very telling.
And now the talking down expectations…oh dear. Plus, with all the good films coming up (and IM 3 smashing the BO), I predict a flop or mediocre opening compared to other films despite Pitt’s star power. He’s up against Man of Steel and Box Office Mojo predicts it will hurt the numbers of WWZ.

More details on WWZ experience..

I went to 14th street Regal in Manhattan…I went to the 9:00pm show and 11:20 show and BOTH WERE PACKED!!…Brad is a loving family man in the movie, and the movie is really smart….you can see the family love, but that takes a back-seat to the action and info on seeking out how to fight the virus….interestingly enough, I really liked seeing Brad as the loving husband/father, it was really true-to-life…Angelina is a really lucky girl…really lucky, but so is Brad.. :)
…All the acting in the movie was great….the ZOMBIES ARE OUT OF CONTROL AMAZING…the plot makes a lot of sense when you look at it as being spread through a virus…I don’t ever see movies like this, and I thought I’d have a hard time taking the ‘zombie threat seriously, but no problem…Brad had me on the edge of my seat, and everyone in the movie was screaming…

I really can’t wait for the sequel…I’ve never read the book, but I hear there’s a lot of material for other movies…can’t wait! I heard men and women talking during and after the movie…the guys were saying it was good, and women said it was scary and good, so I think it will do really well. When I got home I saw a LOT of positive comments online, then I saw it was a world wide trending topic. Woohooo! Great job BRAD!

ROTFLMAO that CrackPon has the nerve to be here trying to smack-talk the WWZ BO numbers. The fact of the matter is – YOUR DUMB ASS WAS WRONG. CORRECTION – YOUR DUMB ASS IS ALWAYS WRONG! Suck it up and hit the road, jerk. (Pardon me brutha Ray for wasting your great song on riff raff). WWZ is going to do a helluva lot more than $45MIL and was just flat-out wrong – something you should be used to. See: 2nd sentence of this paragraph.
Fact #2 loserette – WWZ is tracking to beat Man of Steel which all box office pundits said was highly unlikely. Now your dumb ass is wrong TWICE – at the same time. Efficient of you if nothing else. BBBBBBBBWWWWWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Now take your stank ass back over to the cesspools at Dlisted or FF. Those are the only IQ pools you should ever try to compete with. Lord knows you certainly get your ass kicked every time you come here, but like Ticky, sucking is no deterrent por vu. Dammit.

Just watched 3D WWZ, it was amazing, I will see 2D version too, just want to compare which one is the better

I’m glad to see my opinion means so much to Grand Poo Pah. I didn’t even know she had an imaginary challenge with one of her alters about Pothead’s bomb grossing above $50m.

I am sorry that the movie needs $500 mil to break even. Will Passing Poop jump off a bridge when it does not? Please some loon trade in their food stamps to buy another movie ticket! Pothead’s Plan B and Poopy’s life both depend on it!

WWZ is Brad’s biggest opening. Brad rocks, WWZ rocks.

Passing Through @ 06/22/2013 at 4:11 am

BTW – Whoever it was the other day who said the TYAS trailer would play before WWZ was wrong. All we got was a bunch of upcoming dumb ass summer movies – with Pacific Rim, R.I.P.D, Elysium and Wolverine 2 looking particularly bad and the TLR not looking much better but that’ll make $75-100MIL easily over the 4 day weekend. I saw 3 explotions in a 2 minute trailer, so that’ll easily make money. Besides, it’s Captain Jack Sparrow as a Native American. Looks like another franchise for Depp. Those would be great numbers except Despicable Me 2 ought to do $100-125MIL. I think the only trailer that got a reaction from the audience was Will Ferrell’s Anchorman 2. I laughed a couple of times and I usually don’t find Will Ferrell to be all that funny. But, I bet they put all the good bits in the trailer and the rest of the movie probably sucks. I think there were trailers for 7 movies before WWZ started. Thankfully none of them were We’re the Morons.

tampon troll, $500 million? lol, According to Paramount, the budget now is $190 million, means world wide box office $380 million to break even. Go away you idiot. LOL

Passing Through @ 06/22/2013 at 4:15 am

Shoot…seeing Leo at the top of the page reminded me – they had the WOWS trailer, too. When it ended I heard the guy behind me say, “That looks stupid. I wonder when is Leo going to go away?” The woman with him said she like Leo and thought he wa a god actor. The guys said, “Sure…if you liked Titanic.” LOL! I’m guessing he didn’t…

Aww it’s so early to tally up the weekend grosses and gloating about knocking MOS down from the second spot, isn’t it? A loon can dream, can’t it? It seems the paid shills are hard at work fudging up numbers that aren’t even official yet, though. Pitty’s shtshow has had so much bad press over the last year that it’s impossible to erase it in a single weekend. The media was the first to call it a failure and they won’t be convinced otherwise until it breaks even. :)

PT, i didn’t see TYAS trailer either, but TYAS is R rate, shouldn’t be shown before PG-13 films. I guess.

For once I’m gonna make your wet dreams come true, Tampon, and answer you – BBBBBWWWWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Girl, you’re dumber than a box of dead batteries. Parmount stated in the USA Today article on Brad that WWZ cost $190MIL. Technically it needs to make $380MIL to break even. Anything over that is a profit. However, considering the way studios up to 60% of the BO in the early weeks of release, they’ll earn that money back relatively quickly. The next time you want to attemt to do math – use the calculator provided by Windows (or OS X), an Excel spreadsheet, take your shoes and socks off…something. Anything that’ll help you find the correct answer to 0-for-8-1/2-years + 0-for-8-1/2-years will be an improvement. Now I’m done with your dumb ass. YOu can’t admit that you were wrong because you’re bascially a big. dumb ass bobblehead doll that nobody wants because you’re not cute…and bobblehead dolls are SUPPOSED to be cute…

Awww somebody doesn’t know about movie finances…

A budget of $200 – $250 million + $100 million in global marketing campaign.

Now don’t pretend you didn’t read the EW and LAT articles that mention this. Here’s a kicker: Forbes reported it now has to gross $500 mil to break even.

Poor loons. Your idol still has a long way to go! :(

Passing Through @ 06/22/2013 at 4:28 am

LOL. YOu know Tampon’s got that reading for comprehension problem. Now she’s proved that she can’t do math either. Turns out “this little piggy” never made it to market…

@Passing Through:

Poopy you should get on the phone and call Forbes and let them know they’re wrong then!

…it’s not impossible to presume that a 3D zombie action film starring Brad Pitt would have found at least $300 million worldwide merely by default. But the reshoots and various production hurdles sent the budget well over $200 million, to as much as $250 million depending on who you believe.

So now the film basically has to make $500 million worldwide in order to even think about breaking even.

If there is going to a sequel, I hope Brad hires another director maybe Sam Mendes or Christopher Nolan

Yeah, that somebody would be YOU. We’ve stated repeated tha the budget was $190MIL, yet you continue to insist on a number you pulled out of your ass. Just because you say that’s what it cost – it don’t make it true. Sorry to drop that bomb on your little acid-trippy world, babycakes. Plus, WWZ is distributed by one of the producers, ergo they P&A recovery up-front isn’t a requirement. It’ll make that money back in worldwide aftermarket sales. Just take the corn cob out of your ass and admit you were wrong. Then, let’s see if in 2 weeks you’re going on about the losses Disney could incur on The Lone Ranger if it doesn’t make $250MIL in the domestic market. TLR isn’t even being billed as a Depp flick – Armmie Hammer has top billing – yet it got made because of his relationship with Disney. TLR is just like Dark Shadow – based on a 40 year-lld TV show that’s not well-known in the rest of the world. It too went over-budget – by twice was much as the $20MIL extra Par spent on WWZ (stop using your fingers to count – it’s $40MIL over-budget). But, we all know you won’t come back here to talk about that movie’s production and recovery issues. Don’t worry your empty little pinhead about how much money WWZ recoups. Paramount is going to be very happy with these results and will make a profit – despite your lack of understanding of studio financing and recovery.

LOL. Forbes was wrong, ya dimwit. PARAMOUNT PRODUCTIONS SAID THE MOVIE COST $190 MIL. Get that through you thick head, ya idiot. I think they know how much money they spent a wee bit better than Forbes – who, for 10 years straight, has had Brad’s earnings wrong. Too funny, ya cheddarheaded loser. As Brad said, “No one knows what they’re talking about.” – Including YOU.
But big films invite glaring spotlights. In the June issue of Vanity Fair, Pitt’s face is splashed across the cover under the headline “Brad’s Big Bet,” coupled with a damning story on his

blockbuster’s woes: the spiraling production costs (World War Z cost $190 million to make,

according to Paramount), a completely reshot 40-minute last act, and questions about Pitt and

Forster’s working relationship. The story quotes a variety of sources, including Forster,

Paramount executives and the film’s screenwriters, but not Pitt. In this USA TODAY interview,

Pitt’s only long-form newspaper interview, he sets his story straight.

War Z is “the biggest film I’ve done, period,” he says, easing back in his chair, leg crossed over

a knee, sipping a latte. “It’s pretty damn good, isn’t it?” He grins. “No one knows what they’re talking about.”
My proof comes from people involved. Your “proof” (as. if.) comes from people who are guessing based on previous FALSE RUMORS. I win, you lose, no surprise there.
Alrighty, Tamps, I’m done mocking your dumb ass now. Here’s a little advice – stop getting your “data,” “facts,” “Statistics” and\or “information” from those babbling yeast infections at Fat Fvckers First. They’re the only people on the internet who are wrong more consistently than you. That’s called “A CLUE!” dipshite.

The mastectomy saved wwz. People are feeling sorry for brangelina :(

Passing Through @ 06/22/2013 at 5:00 am

On another note – my apologies to the fans for feeding the troll…but sometimes it’s just plain fun to fvck with Tampon. I’ve never seen a troll so hellbent on being proven wrong about everything they post. The fact that I take glee in pointing out how wrong she is overcame my better judgment of not reading her posts but still mocking her. I’m fascinated by this phenomena – and I can’t help but want to contribute to kicking her in her alleged gonads – since she claims she’s a guy I’m guessing that’s in the future – AFTER THE GENDER REASSIGNMENT SURGERY is finished…

Hehehe,WWZ doing well ,HaggingDogs can’t accept it,eeh eeh eeh eeh

Someone have to take extra Exelon 4,6mg ,that’s why tamshitejoebian from FvckFirst of UK run around here 24/7

” Rachel Green give up with her career and love after lost the battle to have her Set Up X husband back “

LOL troll. Is that the best you can do.

Can’t wait for the other pathetic excuses that the trolls are going to come up with for the success of the movie.

He’s one for them. It’s a bloody good film. Saw it last night. Thought is was excellent and really quite intelligent as well for a blockbuster movie.

I believe Tampax just got her azz handed to her in a paper bag by PT. LOL

Thanks to all the fans for your WWZ experiences. Can’t wait to go see it for myself.

Im so glad to see you name “Passing Through” Ill be reading more tomorrow…After work I went straight to see the movie and kinna tired now.

AWESOME… my back hurting now cuz I was seating in between a couple one is pregnant and other one – left side just could not sit still. Other than that soooo happy.

Glad to see you finally post Passing Through

I just came back from watching WWZ. fully pack cinema in every show time. in fact , better than MOS which was release 2 weeks ago in our country. It could do as good or even better than MOS globally.

The film is simply awesome and great !

You seems so worry it won’t reach 500Million ??
Don’t worry , latest count is that WWZ would probably open to more than 60 million. at this rate. more than 500 million world wide is not a problem.

BP said basically,I’ve one life to live and I ain’t gonna waste it on this nut case he/she man any more,I want a real woman !!!

Angelina is the real woman for Mr.Brad Pitt !!!

No Set Up Date,No Lies,No Dupe,No PhyCo;No Kaput !!!

Today Mr.Brad Pitt is very happy with his Angie and their 6 lovely children !!!

Someone is still Ca Ca and No Can Do as usual…..Ouch….Ouch

@Passing Through: Hi PT, are you still up? I see you are trying to take tamshitt to water, but you know you can’t make a donkey drink. PT didn’t they say no one cared to see Brad and Jimmy F yodeling, well guess what, over a million point two people, and counting cared. Trolls wrong again. Also, I see over five million hits on JF site watching video clip of WWZ. Trolls say no one cares about Brad and Angie. It suck to be tamshitt/Joe. Life is tough when trolls dedicate their lives to hating on Brad and Angelina. WWZ is kicking ass and taking names, looking at you Vogue and Lamey.

Btw, I don’t go to Lamey site but read she wanted WWZ to fail real bad, and we all read Vanity Fair, not Vogue, that was a error.

Good morning to the early birds fans. WWZ rocked the house last night. Going this evening. trolls are in pain, spinning, spinning, they will spin themselves six feet under soon, lol

Hi Phool, Susan, Dawne, Anustin, who, WTM, NAN. Passing Through, I see you are up late/early. Premalee I know you are in my neck of the woods today, have a great day.

Have a great day to all the fateful JP fans wherever you are, WWZ rocks. Brad did yeoman’s work selling his movie and it payed off. Haters to the left. No time to send individual shout out this morning.

I agree Passing through

LOL ………..

People were shiiting on wwz but then Angelina announced her mastectomy and their views changed. Lainey is right, those two are pr geniuses, I give them that. Well played brangelina well played. *claps hands*

You are an idiot. the people who were shiiting on it hadn’t seen the film yet. People started seeing the film, giving it good feedback and that’s when it started to generate a lot of attention.

You hags are really becoming boring. You hate Brad and Angie so much, then stay the fvck away from this site. LOSER

It would appear that the new hag meme for the success of this film is going to be built around the mastectomy. Yes Angelina and Brad, the evil PR genuises that they are, conspired for Angelina to have her breast tissue removed just so they could successfully sell the film.

I wonder, when the hags write the sh*t if they ever for a moment look at what they write and feel a slight twing of embarrassment. Granted a lot of what they write is LOL funny but most of it is just pathetically desperate.

Now that is really illogical reasoning. People went to see WWZ because Angelina has a mastectomy? WTF does one have to do with the other? I am going to see WWZ bec 1) looks like a good popcorn movie, and 2) to support Brad’s movie which has been so maligned since last year bec of production difficulties. Only that cross-eyed, 2-bit blogger known as Lamey has this kind of illogical thinking. I bet she thinks Fishtick’s being chosen People’s Most Beautiful (barf) was bec it was true and not because Huvane bought it for her.

Good morning Rose and Phool

Brad Pitt Scores Biggest Opening Weekend Ever with “World War Z”
06/21/13 9:59pm Roger Friedman Credit Showbiz 411

UPDATE SATURDAY 1:11AM– “World War Z,” according to estimates, made $23.5 million on Friday, and is headed to a $57 million weekend. This is a major win for Pitt, director Marc Forster and Paramount after reshooting a quarter of the film, and getting a lot of grief in the process. But the movie is a hit, critically and financially. Rest assured there will be a sequel. Brad has worked tirelessly for the last two weeks promoting “WWZ” everywhere except Mars. And it’s paid off.

Friday night 9;50PM Eastern: Brad Pitt is one of the biggest movie stars in the world, but he’s never been associated with boffo box office. That may change this weekend. Pitt is eying his biggest opening weekend since “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2005 with “World War Z.” If the new movie goes over $50.4 million by Sunday night, it will be his biggest opening weekend ever. Right now, fueled by good reviews and strong word of mouth, “WWZ” looks very promising.

Interesting: Pitt has never made a movie that could be considered a franchise-launcher. Only the “Ocean’s Eleven” movies fit that bill, and he was part of a large ensemble. His choice of roles has been extremely electic. The result is two Oscar nominations, for “Twelve Monkeys” and more recently “Moneyball.” He takes character roles a lot, and specializes in off beat comedy– thinking “Burn After Reading” and “Inglorious ********.”

Even though Brad is considered a sex symbol, his best roles rarely involve romance. His “big” movies have been gambles like “Jesse James” or “Benjamin Button.” There are no light romantic comedies with Brad Pitt playing the befuddled boyfriend. “Devil’s Own” and “Sleepers” were deep. “Snatch” and “Fight Club” were heavy. “Tree of Life” was experimental. The one time he really went light, with Julia Roberts in “The Mexican,” it didn’t work out.

So stay tuned. “WWZ” looks like it will be cause for celebration.

Saw WWZ cinema was full everyone enjoyed it lost of cheering loved it going to go again because I think I missed much in sheer excitement the first time lol. definitely recommend people see it in 3D its worth it. Congratulations Brad & Plan B another great movie on the resume. I see some industry insiders are back tracking that’s Karma baby no matter how hard some individuals tried to beat down Brad , Mark Foster & Pramount on WWZ they have come out unscaved and winners in all.

good morning phool…….thanks for the updates.

Good morning, Phool. What a glorious day to be a JP fan. We can bask in the success of WWZ, and enjoy the backtracking of the trolls. It’s so hilarious, one troll keeps moving the goalposts, sort of like Lucy in Peanuts, now it’s $500M to break even for WWZ. Another troll tries to connect Angie’s mastectomy to the movie’s success based on the rants of a two-bit, cross-eyed blogger who really knows nothing about the JPs.

Good morning to all the JP fans.. interesting reading all the yammering from the trolls. and funny now they all turn up at the exact same time.. Laughing.

I saw WWZ on Friday afternoon. I really enjoyed it. And won’t give away spoilers. I particularly enjoyed the very beginning of the film. I liked that Brad was not some superhero and just a man with a brain. I saw it in 2D, but will go again next weekend to see it in 3D to see the difference. I forgot all about Maddox in the film so I was not looking for him. I really hope the film does great the rest of the weekend.

You know I was looking at the BO total for Mr. and Mrs. Smith and really that 50.4 million opening is so impressive. Considering it was 8 years ago. There was no 3D involved, no CGI no superhero flying around, not R rated with obscene language and no nudity; nor was it a franchise.
It was all Brad/Angie together in a movie looking HOT and SEXY. And that was enough to bring in the audience. Can you imagine the BO if they had made a sequel or if they find a great script and work together again.

I see the haters are backtracking and trying to find their angle to the film opening well. They were so quick to say nobody liked Brad or that his career was over. Joe Smoe and Tampex were so fast to draw. I have said before let the hater ramble and put their foot in their mouth.

Now we wait and I think WWZ will do just fine. The trolls better start saving their money for We Are the Moorons because if that movie does what I think it will do.. we will be having barbeque HEN that weekend.

#briseis @ 06/22/2013 at 6:37 am
Now that is really illogical reasoning. People went to see WWZ because Angelina has a mastectomy? WTF

Good Morning Briseis how are you my dear ?First no one gives a flying Fook what Lame asss Lamey thinks this women who is on Huvane’s pay , who’s only job is to 24/7 big up his lameassed clients like Goop, & Ticky. Now that they have seen the sucess of WWZ, don’t be surprised this is what idiotic/haters do clutching at straws they will come out all things crazy. A movie that we knew from day 1 was a hit & going to be a worthy success, now is showing that promise in having fans come out in droves not only in US but all around the world Supporting & loving WWZ. And lamey boils it down to Angie having a Mastectomy especially for that , and thats the reason fans came out to see the movie, really how low can Lamey get , dont answer that I now she already is in the gutter, she is a born Fooking biitch, that is a stain on society and she call her self a women. This coming from a sarcastic biitch like lamey a women has the audacity to snarl on Angie’s mastectomy and by trying to create conspiracy theory 1001 even out of that, just goes to show first the women her self is delusional jealous Hag, 2nd a bought and paid by Huvane mouth piece, and 3rd no one gives a rats a$$ what this biitch says. Every time she comes out with one pathetic statement after another without any proof to back it up its all conspiracy theories with that one. If she is saying people went to see WWZ due to Angies’ Mastectomy just goes to show the patheticness of Lamey let her cream her granny pants if she wants to it only goes to show people how psychotic she realy is.

Good Morning Anustin
My beautiful Vajtastic sister how are you ? Have you seen WWZ last night or are you going today? if you havent seen it then Girl be prepared for your Vag being on FIRE, if you have seen it I bet its NUMB right now lol.
I loved loved Loved it i wanted more hope there is another one.

Morning all. Three more days of family vacay and I’m home to comment at will and not in hiding :). If kids can’t use the iPad on vacay then mommy is not supposed to either! We are heading out to see WWZ tonight and my boys are so excited, they already want the video game. Have a great weekend all!

saw this on a box office forum and it deserves to be repeated

Michael Gary Scott, on 21 Jun 2013 – 9:15 PM, said:
After my bad luck with calls this summer I deserved this. Come on tele and jandrew give me some props lol

I’ll give you props for it. For me, this is the box office story of the weekend, if not the year so far, not the yawnsome Man of Bore which was always going to pull in the crowds whether it was good or not.

WWZ was maligned in the media before anyone had even seen it. Even normally respectable (and powrerful) outlets had it in for this film. They inflated the costs, pretended that reshoots were unheard of and basically rubbed their hands gleefully hoping for a disaster. Others then jumped on the bandwagon without having seen the film.

So, Paramount and Brad Pitt did the smartest thing – they took the movie to the fans. And the fans are responding.

Pitt has proved that Hollywood star power is not dead. If you use it cleverly (and you have it in the first place) it will pay dividends. He didn’t do the complacent chat show circuit, he just went to the fans across the globe and showed the movie. Paramount socked one in the eye to the foolish publications which put some background agenda ahead of decent journalism.

I wish WWZ well. I don’t predict numbers but i was quietly confident it would open better than was being predicted by others and I think good word of mouth will give this very solid legs.

#briseis @ 06/22/2013 at 7:30 am

Its a GREAT DAY Briseis after seeing the movie, reading all the early updates on the WWZ success its happy days for all the Jolie Pitt fans, we couldn’t have asked more could we. Brad has given it all god bless him and may his success continue growing in what ever he does. Did you see Passing Through handed Troll Tamshiits Ass on her FF plate lol the trolls are back tracking I love it seeing them squirm, they were dishing it out all those months, bigging up every other Tom ,Diick & harry’s projects but not Brads, despite the fact the remain on Brad & Angies & their children’s threads all day all year long just to show how much they hate them “where are they now”? like Ticky boars ran off having a pity party lol.

PS sorry for my long long long rant against Lamey in your post Angie is doing her UNHCR bringing attention & giving voices to the voiceless refugee community and in process doing an inspirational job at it. And all lamey could come out is throwing shade on her, and making out a women had to go through gruelling months of surgeries not to prolong her life for herself her children for her partner BUT to have it in process to have her partners move to be a Hit? . Briseis,Just when you thought humanity couldn’t stoop any lower and women like Lamy come out with this . Its just as a women when you see another women talking Shiit about Mastectomy and making fun of it and throwing shade just angers me of their ignorance its like we have quite few Mellissa Etheridge ******* around and remember what happened to her Lol she got her Asss handed to her didn’t she.

Lamey is working every 2 cents she got from Huvane that’s what Huvana’s Hookers do work hard on poles but still end up earning peanuts & still called hoookers. Moral of the story if you sleep with the devil you become the devils biitch and that’s lamey lol.

@Phool.: No sweat about the long rant about Lamey, I would do it too but my fingers get tired after typing a few paragraphs on my android phone. But you are so right, Lamey and Melissa E are a shame on womanhood. So glad that Lamey is still a scrabbling two-bit blogger whose main ambition is to be like Janice Min (gag), and ME has seen her better days behind her and she is no better than an alimony, child-support shirking beeyatch.

Good Morning Rose
How are you my dear sister I hope you had chance to see WWZ last night , if you havent wont spoil it for you lol but you will love it dont eb scared your hubby is going to be there with you holding your hand ok.
I loved Passing Through giving it back to the murderous Ticky Troll, she cant show her face now can she lmao. All that gloating that no one would go and see Brads movie becuase as per troll he has no fans well for your information Troll fans have come out in drowes to support Brad not only at his premiures but also going to see the movie .
I looking out for Tickys We are Morons movie lets see how much will that make lmao.hang on i think i saw a pig fly by lol.

Update in @ 06/22/2013 at 8:11 am

24 friday/62 weekend.
Probably a little bit high. I think 57 is more likely.
But it’s a hit and probably will be in the blue when all is said and done ( worldwide box office and home vídeo and television).
And there is a great chance that it’ll make more than 500 milion worldwide. Then Paramount will want a sequel.
They can make a cheaper sequel.

‘World War Z’ Zombies Walk Tall For $24M Friday/$62M Weekend To Begin Global Battle With Superman: ‘Monsters University’ Huge #1 With $29M/$79M For Pixar’s 2nd Biggest
By NIKKI FINKE, Editor in Chief | Saturday June 22, 2013 @ 3:02am PDTTags: International Box Office, World War Z
SATURDAY 3 AM, 3RD & 4TH UPDATE: Here’s how the domestic box office shaped up for Friday, according to my sources. Disney/Pixar’s 3D toon prequel Monsters University (playing in 4,004 theaters) received a coveted ‘A’ CinemScore from audiences to keep the positive chatter flowing. It opened to a gargantuan #1 with $29M Friday (including Thursday’s $2.6M late show tally) and a likely $79M weekend. That would make it Pixar’s second highest opening ever, behind only Toy Story 3. Yowza!
Placing #2 is Paramount’s 3D World War Z (3,607 theaters) co-financed with Skydance Productions which received a ‘B+’ CinemaScore from audiences to help word of mouth. It’s overperforming with $24M Friday and at least $62M for the weekend. That has the studio giddy with relief after all that pre-release bad buzz for Brad Pitt’s zombie pic. Paramount execs claim statistics show only one original movie a year opens at $50+M. “Franchises open bigger but originals play to better multiples as people start discovering them.”
In #3 is last weekend’s top opener, Warner Bros’ and Legendary Pictures’ 3D ago) aMan Of Steel (4,207 theaters in the widest release), with $13.2M Friday (-71% from a week nd around $42.7M for a cume around $210M.
Summer 2013 is still sizzling with total moviegoing this weekend around $225M which is a big +44% over last year. I’ll have the Top Ten based on Friday estimates with fuller analysis later this morning.

Box Office: Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ Earns Solid $3.6M on Thursday

LOS ANGELES ( – So much for bad buzz, because “World War Z” is not the box-office disaster that some observers had gleefully speculated it would be.

The zombie thriller grossed a solid $3.6 million in late night showings Thursday night, according to studio estimates. The Brad Pitt-led cast of thousands racked up those numbers in 2,600 screens. It expands to more than 3,600 screens on Friday and is projected to generate roughly $50 million over the weekend.

The midnight numbers fall short of those generated by blockbusters like “Man of Steel” and “Iron Man 3,” but they compare favorably with “The Great Gatsby,” which earned $3.25 million in its late night showings on its way to a $50 million opening.

Despite the hot start, “World War Z” is not expected to be the weekend’s top film. That honor will likely go to “Monsters University.” The 3D prequel to 2001′s “Monsters Inc.” is projected to matriculate with around $70 million. If tracking holds, that will give Pixar its 14th consecutive first place opening.

Still it’s a remarkable turn around for the $190 million-budgeted “World War Z,” which had been plagued with reports of cost-overruns and expensive re-shoots, including an 11th hour decision to cook up a new ending.

The global backdrop of the zombie pandemic film appeared to be paying off as well. “World War Z” grossed a total of $5.7 million internationally on Thursday from territories like Korea, Argentina and Australia.

“World War Z” finds Pitt as a United Nations bureaucrat racing around the world in the hopes of stopping a virus that’s turning the population into flesh-eating members of the undead. Reviews have been decent with the film earning a respectable 68 percent “fresh” rating on the critics aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Love Brad! @ 06/22/2013 at 8:23 am

ANGEandBrad4ever . I here you loud and clear… will go again tonight . Love the movie and PITT .

Brad Pitt: Zombies created Thriller
Jun 22, 2013 – Canada’s Online Women’s Magazine

BANG) -Brad Pitt has a secret tape of the ‘World War Z’ zombies re-enacting Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video.
The 49-year-old star is excited about showing people the unique footage when the time is right after extras playing the zombies in the apocalyptic action movie replicated the dance performed by the living dead in the iconic 1983 music video, which sees the them jig alongside the late singer who also turns into a zombie.

Brad – who is engaged to Angelina Jolie – told Nuts magazine: ”They did re-enact Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video and we have that on tape. It’s pretty special.

”I’m going to show people one day. You know, it was more than we were working long nights there.

”We were up all night, so you need a little light-heartedness. We had a Halloween party out there and everything.”

Brad – who plays main character Gerry Lane and also produced ‘World War Z’ – insists Budapest produced the best zombies in the movie, so much so the crew brought the animated corpses back to film re-shoots.

He added: ”Budapest was great for it. The people were just awesome. The zombies were so good in Budapest that we had to bring them back for our re-shoots and use them again.”

jut checked and Inception received a bplus cinemascore and I am Legend B so WWZ legs will be great

Review: ‘World War Z’ Is Not An Award Winner But Is A Potential Blockbuster

June 22nd, 2013 8:00am EDT | By: Melissa Unger
Maybe you’ve heard about Brad Pitt’s World War Z and have low expectations of the film, but hold on you’re in for a shock. Although the production was plagued with problems from budget to re-shoots, it is rather surprising that this film actually made it to your local movie theater this weekend. The real shock is it is ACTUALLY A GOOD SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER.

The film is an apocalyptic spectacle that doesn’t let up until the end. “It is epically scaled, but it’s not a messy, noisy, CGI-bogus, throw-everything-at-the-audience sort of blockbuster. It’s thrillingly controlled, and it builds in impact.”

In the end, it’s pretty much what you’d want in a summer blockbuster: scary but not-too-gross zombies, a fast-paced journey to exotic locales, a few quite thrilling action scenes, and did we mention Brad Pitt?

The film may feel like a travel itinerary at times since it follows United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt) traversing the world in an attempt to stop a zombie pandemic that threatens all of human existence. He is forced to leave his wife, Karen (Mireille Enos), and two young daughters, aboard a safe haven aircraft carrier somewhere in the Atlantic. Although it’s not clear how Gerry’s experience with terrorist actions in Chechnya and Africa make him the world’s No. 1 go-to guy to solve the zombie problem, the bearded, long-haired Pitt is instantly dispatched to rainy South Korea. He visits Israel where they are winning the war against the living dead, but eventually ends up at a top-secret medical research facility in Wales.

The final act had to be rewritten and reshot at considerable expense with the scale and focus of the film narrowed in the climactic 20 minutes. The recipe of the story is fairly simple: sneak across enemy lines (a zombie-occupied building) to grab the secret potion (a substance that may hold the key to stopping the war). The quiet, paired down ending is in deep contrast to all the action that’s gone before, which is not a bad thing, but the very ending wraps everything up very quickly.
Directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland), World War Z won’t be remembered come Oscar time, but the film does redefine what a believable and smart zombie flick can be. Yes, the apocalyptic thriller features a slew of computer generated zombies that, unlike the undead of yesteryear, do not slowly meander but instead swiftly move in packs in a sort of tidal wave of rotting flesh more like the mania of 28 Days Later.

The film is loosely based on Max Brooks’ science fiction novel, and as they say, if you liked the book, you will not appreciate this water-downed big-budget Hollywood version of the original complex sociopolitical commentary. Pitt himself has bemoaned that the book is simply not compatible with the financial imperatives of a big-budget blockbuster. In the Brooks’ story, the zombie outbreak began in China, but filmmakers decided that China should go unmentioned if they wanted it to be shown in theaters there.
But before you write off the weakness of the current story compared to Brooks’ book, the filmmakers never intended to capture the comprehensive and a political intrigue of how and why the international calamity (Zombie War) played out the way it did. Their goal was to tell the simple story of a father who is forced to save the world in order to save his family.

To sum it up, writer Drew Goddard said that the film is a simple story told on an epic scale. Within the first 20 minutes, you see strong themes of family and humanity that can be lost amongst the CG and epic scenes. While Gerry’s family is facing certain death by zombies, they find refuge in an immigrant family’s apartment. Not only is Gerry’s family kept safe, but they are fed, given supplies and comfort. This very simple scene seems to hint at Pitt’s personal quest to help humanity. Not only that, but his short powerful message, which almost stops the film for a moment, reminds us all that even in the face of impending doom, we can survive if we just open our doors to strangers.

Official estimates from the studio should be arriving within 2 hours so the numbers could be higher or lower. Nikki went from MOS doing 17-19mil to now 13 and WWZ 20mil to 24. Other sites are saying WWZ could actually be 25-27, so we will find out soon. Only thing certain is that it is plus 50mil and it beat MOS!

@Phool.: Morning Sis, how are you lady ? Phool, I’ll be in and out all day, but you know whenever I get a chance I’ll stop by. Hubby did not want to go last night, today looks like a perfect day to see a zombi movie, wink, wink, WWZ !!

Phool, I just saw Sunny posted the latest BO numbers, #224. Phool did you see Nikki Fink is predicting that WWZ is looking at $ 60+m for the weekend, omg. That’s almost double MOS #s, omg Lamey and tamshitt/Joe the murderer in going to murder them self when they see those numbers, lol. And the next thing I noticed, WWZ opened in the least amount of theaters.
I’m not a reader of Lamey but I heard she was pushing MOS and trashing Brad so I just want to rub it into the trolls and Lamey the crossed eyed
fool face.

The North American box office will be huge this weekend, June 21-23, 2013. You’ve surely read that elsewhere, and it’s no exaggeration. The combined gross of the top three movies alone — Monsters University, World War Z, Man of Steel — should hover around $180 million. Now, what remains to be seen is if there’ll be any dollars (whether Canadian or American) left for the dozens of other movies on North American screens. It’s like having huge supermarkets making little neighborhood stores disappear from view. But hey, that seems to be exactly what the moviegoing public wants.

According to early, rough estimates found at, Disney / Pixar’s Monsters University will easily top the domestic box office following a Friday gross around $25-$28 million, in addition to $2.6 million from Thursday evening screenings. Currently at 4,004 locations, Monsters University will likely reach $70-$75 million — or, with luck, perhaps even up to $80 million in case there’s an unexpected Saturday / Sunday surge. If so, that means Monsters University will have the second biggest opening weekend ever for a Pixar movie, behind only Toy Story 3‘s $110.3 million.

Now, once you realize that inflation is a fact of life, you’ll see that Pixar movies such as Finding Nemo and The Incredibles — without the assistance of 3D surcharges — actually not only sold more tickets but also grossed more than Monsters University is expected to take in this weekend. Released in 2003, Finding Nemo collected $70.25 million or approximately $92.5 million today, while The Incredibles earned $70.46 million or about $90 million today.

Monsters University budget, voice cast
I haven’t been able to find an exact budget figure for Monsters University, but Cars 2 and Toy Story 3 cost a reported $200 million, while Brave came in cheap at $185 million.

Directed by Dan Scanlon, Monsters University features the voices of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Helen Mirren, Steve Buscemi, Peter Sohn, Sean Murray, Dave Foley, Sean Hayes, Alfred Molina, Nathan Fillion, Tyler Labine, Aubrey Plaza, Julia Sweeney, Bonnie Hunt, John Krasinski, Bill Hader, Bob Peterson, and John Ratzenberger. The screenplay of the Monsters, Inc. sequel is credited to director Scanlon, Daniel Gerson, and Robert L. Baird.

World War Z box office: $50 million debut?
The no. 2 spot this weekend is iffy: World War Z or Man of Steel? On Friday, it apparently belonged to Marc Forster’s Paramount-distributed World War Z, about zombies fighting discrimination in order to attend college, while Brad Pitt provides them with support and counseling. (Kidding.) At 3,607 theaters, World War Z is expected to collect about $20 million on Friday, including $3.6 million from Thursday evening shows.

Featuring Brad Pitt as the American Man out to save the world from ravenous zombies — so the human race can be wiped out by global warming instead — World War Z will surely pass the $50 million mark by Sunday evening. How high will it reach? Well, if it follows the path of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, World War Z will open with about $50-$51 million.

But remember, those zombies groan, but don’t bite: whereas Prometheus was rated R, World War Z is a PG-13 movie, which means more 12-year-olds, ahem, more 14-year-olds buying tickets without an accompanying 18-year-old. World War Z could easily reach $55 million, or perhaps even edge close to $60 million. That’s about $10 million more than some box-office pundits had been predicting.

World War Z reviews, Brad Pitt cancels trip to Brazil
Reviews for the $190-$200 million-budgeted horror drama have been mostly positive, though hardly enthusiastic. World War Z has a 71% approval rating and 6.4 average among Rotten Tomatoes‘ top critics. Of note, after touring Europe on behalf of his film, actor-producer Brad Pitt canceled his Brazilian World War Z promo trip because of the widespread demonstrations in that country against, among other things, public money being spent on preparations for the World Cup and the Olympic Games. (And you — if in the U.S. — thought that the NBA finals and the revelation that TV chef Paula Deen used an ethnic slur a few years back were the momentous events of the week, of global importance and far-reaching sociopolitical implications…)

Besides Brad Pitt, World War Z‘ features Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, Fana Mokoena, David Morse, Ludi Boeken, Elyes Gabel, Peter Capaldi, Moritz Bleibtreu, Pierfrancesco Favino, Ruth Negga, Michiel Huisman, Abigail Hargrove, and Fabrizio Zacharee Guido. Based on a novel by Max Brooks (son of Anne Bancroft and Mel Brooks), the World War Z screenplay is credited to Matthew Michael Carnahan, Drew Goddard, and Damon Lindelof, from a screenplay (“story”) by Carnahan and J. Michael Straczynski.

Man of Steel: Third $50+ million movie this weekend?
Man of Steel could also surge past the $50 million milestone at the domestic box office this weekend, after grossing somewhere between $17-$19 million on Friday. Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Man of Steel‘s current domestic cume stands at $168.79 million. That means, the latest Superman reboot will be passing the $200 million milestone on Saturday.

Besides Henry Cavill as Clark Kent aka Superman, the Man of Steel cast includes Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Christopher Meloni, Antje Traue, Dylan Sprayberry, Laurence Fishburne, Ayelet Zurer, Mackenzie Gray, Michael Kelly, Richard Schiff, Harry Lennix, Cooper Timberline, and Richard Cretone.

The Man of Steel screenplay is credited to David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises), from a story by Goyer and Batman trilogy filmmaker Christopher Nolan. Nolan is also one of the film’s producers

Anyone else here Nikki Finke is mad about WWZ’s numbers. For a movie predicted to make 40mil this weekend and come out like that is huge. She seemed so impressed with MU but most forecasters had MU doing 75-85 so its not really a shocker it did 79, WWZ on the other hand is.

@Passing Through: @ 06/22/2013 at 4:11 am

I was waiting for the TYAS trailer too. I think they were mistaken and really talking about the screen caps that have been released. And Yep I had to sit through all those upcoming trailers.. which I do like to see won’t lie. I was spending most of my time looking at actor’s faces. Yes their faces. And I don’t know what makeup they used on Leo in WOWs but he looked like a plastic doll. I couldn’t stop staring.. and if the trolls bring their tired used asses and talk about Brad being ugly. FU.. Matthew M. should not have lost that weight. He has ruined his looks. I always thought he was gorgeous. But now his face scares me. I hate how drawn he looked. I hope he gains more weight.

I was staring at Brad’s face, and he looked great. There were moment.. like in the lab when he was glowing.. Seriously in High def. The man is beautiful. Looks better than most women on screen.

The fan would have been happy with a 35 or 40 million weekend. Mainly because of all the hate directed at Brad.. Well now if things hold and continue as they are.. we the fans are more than pleased. And I agree; Brad did something in his promotion that no one has ever done before. He let the fans talk for the film and that is a first. No one has ever done that. And with every screening fans were praying he would walk in. I’m sure other actors wished they had thought of that. So it shows that you don’t need to do the night time shows or interviews during daytime shows to get your message out there. HE GOT IT.. People in those screenings were tweeting before and after seeing the film and going crazy. Brad’s premiers were HUGH lots of people. So the haters can suck it and shove it..

I hope the numbers keep rising..

were the morons @ 06/22/2013 at 9:05 am

@Rose: hello rose, how are you my dear? WWZ was the main movie everyone was seeing. That’s all I heard at work, at the mall and at the theatre lol. I saw the regular version because the 3D was two hours later and I was impatient lol. But the regular one was still intense IMO. Those zombies were scary and funny at the same time. Brad was seriously owning the zombies! Well, since you are doing it later on , enjoy yourself lady!

#Rose @ 06/22/2013 at 8:39 am
Like I said wont say much to spoil it for you you will defiantly enjoy it Rose that goes without saying, i’m going again after the initial excitement i didn’t take much in lol so i’m going to be Zombified yet again lol. In regards to experts like Nikie Finkles predictions for WWZ Rising from initial estimates that’s bound to happen once they saw it and once they saw the fan buzz around it.
Yes had seen the Deadline’s prediction of $60+ that is promising considering where they started from initially. To be honest just because someone tried to tarnish WWZ in regards to costing, budget, writing & Directors issues all has turned out to be untrue. That goes to show no matter how much you want to spoil it the truth comes out and the truth being the initial costs are low why didn’t they just ask Paramount or Plan B but no I personally think like Brad said some people have personal vendetta against him and the studio which he works for .
The bigger question in my mind is why was WWZ singled out amongst all other movies ? where they can re-shoot, have spiral cots, have production problems but no one utters a single word ? why is that?
Where is Variety now singling out one movie for on rumours costing lets see how quite they will be on “The Lone Ranger”? I bet no one is going to mention their initial costs are they considering its double the amount of WWZ. So my question is where is that Initial reporter who had reported? what’s his take on WWZ now ?, he came up with the ****&bull story to begin with.
Whose having the last laugh Paramount & Brad are you cant put a good man down no matter how hard you try. I don’t see why MOS was being shoved down everyone’s throats it was obvious that’s an existing franchise Chris Nolan coming off from Bat Man that’s going to money there is no surprise element in that. But when you see people like Lamey as if she is relevant in the first place trying to put one over WWZ or should I say Brad then you got to take a step back and think What is the real reason for this ? where is the real push coming from? like brad said he has a Bulls eye target at his back everyone is aiming for, it may it be personal to business reasons its there to aim at. Don’t forget Plan B are doing a great business churning out one project after another each with top quality that’s bound to create animosity and jealousy in the industry after all every one is in completion with each other so that always plays hand in aspects like these.

were the morons @ 06/22/2013 at 9:11 am

@Phool.: hey Phool! Good morning! Did you see WWZ last night? I did. I loved it! Brad was making me smile so much lol. They way he protected his family in the movie made me think of how he does the exact same with Abgie and the kids. Brad was seriously owning the zombies.

@by Roger Friedman:

LOL.. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I have been enjoying Friedman comments lately. I know but true. He had a wonderful take on Brad and Angie when they were at the London Premier. I remember him standing by a door waiting for Angie to walk up so he could talk to her. and he has been great regarding WWZ.. yes I am in total shock.

#WWZ @ 06/22/2013 at 8:42 am

WWZ ,the reason people like Niki are out of touch about the WWZ numbers is because Brad & WWZ has changed the game plan for them. They started a prediction on a false rumour about a movie and now they have to lay back and take it in my opinion. Considering MU & MOS has more cinema seating than WWZ there bound to make more money but that saying still should disregard WWZ I pray its No1 on monday that would be Icing on the cake , its still is a winner regardless what position it ends up in It smaking money thats what counts.

it wont be number one thats a given, because parents take kids to see pixar movies on saturdays especially and the gap is too large right now. I am just celebrating the number that is got. wow over 60mil is very very huge for a movie panned all over the media. You are right though MOS has 4200 theatres and MU has I think 300 more than WWZ

Wonderbust @ 06/22/2013 at 9:25 am

well look what we have here
GASP Johnny Depp making a screening appearance. But tampon and Joe said Depp would NEVER do such a thing. this has been such an awesome week of Karma. Didnt someone say movie stars would take a page out of Brads book and start doing this,

#were the morons @ 06/22/2013 at 9:11 am

Good Morning my dear sister WTM, did I see it HELL YEAH I SAW IT lol loved it going again missed quite a lot in excitement lol. By the way did you read the Biitch slap Passing Through gave Tamshiiter lmao Troll has been handed her aSS on the plate. See I don’t hear any troll bashing WWZ now lol WTM i’m getting my knives sharpened for Tickys straight to DVD move “Were ARE the Morons” bring it on,lets see how many off shore premieres Ticky will do ? How many fans turn out ? How much it will earn at the box office ? Well i’m entitled to ask these questions If the Trolls could about Brad & Angies Projects, then that gives me god given right to ask don’t you agree WTM?

I definitely recommend seeing WWZ in 3D. I saw it in 2D and then in 3D and there’s much more “punch” in the zombie attack sequences than the 2D. So if you’re the type that enjoys the thrills and surprises of zombies literally coming out of nowhere to attack, then you’ll want to see it in 3D.
Glad to hear the latest updates of WWZ. Congrats to Brad, Marc, DeDe, Jeremy and Paramount. I’m thrilled that WWZ has been a commercial and financial success! Suck on that trolls. LOL!

@Phool.: You’re right Phool, Brad and Paramount are having the last laugh. Or as the saying goes, the one who laugh last laugh best. Phool, is it me or Henry Cavill is very wooden, know what I mean, he’s very stiff, good looking man but comes off no charisma, jmo.

Phool you wanted to know why was WWZ singled out? I believe because Brad will not play the HW games. Brad did not go running from one talk show to the other, he just took his movie to the people and sold it there. He does not owe anyone anything so they are PO’d. Remember Brad saying there was bulls eye on his back, yes, they want to take him own.

Brad is a hard worker, and like all hard working men with a Family they work hard and get things done. I love that about Brad and Angie, they work hard to promote their movie. I remember the trolls asking where are his co stars? If you have Brad Pitt promoting your movie thats all you need, the biggest mega star on the planet.

I guess Angie is back home with Brad and the Family. You know, after next week, the family will be taking a great vacation and hide out from everyone. Therefore, we better enjoy all the news now because we maybe in for a long dry spell of seeing the Jolie Pitt’s.

Seen the movie in 3D last night AMAZING. It didn’t help that my husband was chattering his teeth at me either, lol.

“World War Z,” according to estimates, made $23.5 million on Friday, and is headed to a $57 million weekend.
Just wanted to reproduce the truth in these 2 statements:
Brad worked tirelessly to produce a good movie and then to promote it despite the bad advance publicity. I’m no movie buff but within my limited knowledge, I’ve never seen any magazine with the reputation of Vanity Fair do an article slamming a movie before it’s even been seen in full.
Which leads me to the other point: How very true that:
Brad “… didn’t do the complacent chat show circuit, he just went to the fans across the globe and showed the movie.”
Brad and “.. Paramount socked one in the eye to the foolish publications (here’s looking at YOU VANITY FAIR) which put some background agenda (and SHAME ON YOU GRAYDON CARTER) ahead of decent journalism.

@Wonderbust:#243, Oh snaps, omg, lol, Wonderbust youre lying, lol. Johnny Depp is making a screen appearance!!. Omg, not Johnny!!, you know tamshitt/Joe is going to say that’s a lie. Johnny would never do something like that it’s below his standards, lol. Only Brad would sell his movie by going to the theatre, right Tamshitt/Joe? The fans did say Brad started something and other actors are going to follow him. I love how the trolls keep getting slapped down, lol.

@Jones, since you saw it twice, can you tell me if you were able to spot Maddy? i don’t think it will spoil for the rest who have not seen it. i saw it yesterday but forgot to look for Maddy.

#WWZ @ 06/22/2013 at 9:21 am
I know It wont be No1 but hey a girl can dream cant she lol, like I said number is just a number its the dollars that counts don’t you agree?. Considering the the time WWZ has come out right after MOS & MU I think its still doing great business so far against Two franchise with existing audience backing. Therefore
considering the number of theatre openings is considerably less that the other two movies its still making money and bringing in the numbers so the industry still should take that into account. Lets see what they say on monday ?
Personally speaking I think its easily going to make over $60 million (God willing) Thy have turned it around no matter what was thrown at it but Brad & paramount have fought through they are fighters and in my eyes they have won THIS FIGHT hands down don’t you agree?

I don’t post much on other celebs. Mainly because they don’t interest me and secondly I don’t know the majority of people on the main page.

but I did make a comment on the JD thread.. nothing bad but..

Saw WWZ this past Wednesday night in NYC at special screening. Theatre was packed. Loved it. My only complaint — I wanted it to be longer. I will be seeing it again this afternoon with my sister. It was scary at times, thrilling always, and there were some really poignant moments in the film. I feel it is better than any previous typical “zombie horror” film — WWZ has more depth to it.

I also saw Man of Steel last week — and the nicest thing I can say about the movie is that the theatre I saw it in was really clean and the popcorn was buttery.

PT, how was your dentist visit yesterday? i avoid it as mush as i can. i know you saw WWZ yesterday. were you able to spot Maddy? i am sort of mad at myself because i was too busy enjoying the movie, i completely forgot to look for Maddy.

were the morons @ 06/22/2013 at 9:44 am

I saw the biitch slap PT game tampax lmao. The troll never returned since then. I guess tampax is in hibernation until it could think of another comeback lol. Or find another tabloid review…

Lol did you hear? Tickys future flop moved to the 7th of August. I guess they were scared of the competition on the 9th.

Oh, forgot to add…when I went to see WWZ, the new series on Showtime, Ray Donovan, got a plug. So Jon Voight got some face time before his future son-in-law’s zombie epic. And the pre movie trailers were ticky free. So, no We’re the Morons crap to suffer through.
The trailers I saw included: Machete Kills, The Wolf of Wall Street (which looks really bad, in my opinion); Pacific Rim (which looks like a Transformers/Avatar/Iron Man/Godzilla hybrid), White House Down and Anchorman 2.

#Wonderbust @ 06/22/2013 at 9:25 am

Lol WB you know we mentioned that yesterday amoungst us and belive me there wasn’t a peep out of the Trolls about JD they have plenty to dish out on Brad & Angie but not on others how ODD.

Wonderbust @ 06/22/2013 at 9:47 am

You all remember how tampax went on about how Brad could never do a blockbuster like Cruise, Smith, Depp. Well thats because Brad never actually tried. So this year Cruises Oblivion has made $288WW $88mil only in the US(Even Salt did better, no wonder he got replaced lol and remember SALT could not be shown in China, Oblivion made $23MIL there), After Earth FLOPPED, Lone Ranger we shall see but it doesnt look too good, He even claimed Tatum was a bigger draw LMAO. Lets see if White House D can pull in these numbers. WWZ was going against Pixar AND superman and still was a success

oh Look Variety have changed their tune lol

‘World War Z’ Could Surpass $60 Million as Monster B.O. Weekend Kicks Off
Paramount and Skydance’s zombie thriller “World War Z” swarmed the U.S. box office on Friday, outperforming early projections and adding to what should be a record-breaking weekend for Hollywood.
Starring Brad Pitt, the 3D blockbuster was approaching $60 million as of Friday evening, only slightly behind Disney/Pixar’s “Monsters University” ($68-72 million) for the No. 1 spot.

“World War Z,” directed by Marc Forster, marks the best opening weekend of Brad Pitt’s career, topping the 2005 debut of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” ($50.4 million).
Box office analysts warn “World War Z” could rise even higher Friday night from latenight audiences, but “Monsters University” should rest comfortably in first place.
Meanwhile, Warners’ “Man of Steel” continued to attract legions of superhero fans Friday, dropping 60% in week-to-week earnings for an estimated $50 million weekend.
The “Man of Steel” numbers could prove to be the third and final piece in helping Hollywood achieve history this weekend. Never before, during a non-holiday weekend, have three movies earned more than $50 million each at the box office.

were the morons @ 06/22/2013 at 9:50 am

@Jones: same here! I was praying I didn’t see that hag on the movie screen. Thank goodness god answers our prayers last night.

Wonderbust @ 06/22/2013 at 9:53 am

On thursday Variety was saying WWZ would hit low 40s. The illiterate troll was bragging last week because had it at $40mil.

WWZ - MJ "Thriller" Zed dance @ 06/22/2013 at 9:57 am

“….Brad – who is engaged to Angelina Jolie – told Nuts magazine: ”They did re-enact Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video and we have that on tape. It’s pretty special.
”I’m going to show people one day. You know, it was more than we were working long nights there. …..”

I think if they want to be smart and get a bigger extra help they MUST RELEASE THE MJ-THRILLER VIDEO ……. NEXT WEEK

If they do that, the impact will be reflect in next weekend box-office.

If someone have connection with Paramount pictures (or Plan B) please tell them this. It´s the best promotion they could do besides Brad ….

Let´s ask them to put the Extra-video in the Net…i want to see it….pleeeeease

Good morning J-P fans.
You can’t keep good people down.
Brad worked his a s s for this movie, it was great to see him come out fighting, except for yodeling with Jimmy, he continued to skip the late night shows, Kimmel was probably thinking he would do his show, ha.
They proved that they don’t need a mouth piece and you don’t have to suck up to Talk Show Hosts when your product is worthwhile.
Vanity Fair used his photo to sell a Hatchet job, but look who is coming out on top.

#Rose @ 06/22/2013 at 9:28 am
I know the industry has its favourites i.e. the Clooney’s & Affleck’s who like to lick every ball there is out there and Brad will NOT play any kind of ball with any one apart from Angie that goes with out saying lol. Sorry getting back to the subject, he despite being part of this business is still an outsider he does his job like it or not that’s others opinion he doesn’t care. Compared to others they would go an extra mile for personal gratification and applauds you see and Brad is one thing for sure NOT A YES MAN like others and that what stings them . Here he is what 25 plus years working in this industry still his fame & fortune going strong he is respected for his work & his deeds there is no denying that. Like he said in the interview that I posted today I don’t work for awards I work for quaity of work itself end off.
In regards to the Christopher Reeve wanabe HC remember there only was ever one Christopher Reeve no matter how many Superman churn out he remains the ultimate that every one aspires to and imitates. when you said “is it me or Henry Cavil is very wooden,” No my dear its not only you he is Wooden like a wooden peg honestly he nee to loosen up he looks all up tight in those suits and that damn tie is like choking him i get it he got buffed up for that part but don’t act like a beafhead lol.
In regards to news on Angie well Mr Hague said on Monday (June 24) he will hand over a report on sexual violence in conflict to the UN Security Council with Angelina Jolie, as special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. “This report is the work I’ve been doing over the last year, partly with Angelina Jolie. She will be there with me at the UN Security Council which I’ll chair on Monday.”

@Wonderbust: Bwahahahahahaha!! I wonder where Johnny Depp got the idea? So funny that karma is hitting the trolls, especially our main troll, so hard in the backside. Didn’t the troll dis Brad and say Johnny Depp would never do something so lowly as making personal appearances in screenings? So what do we see now? Well, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and coming from Johnny Depp, am pretty sure Brad is completely flattered and feels vindicated after Vanity Fair and all the media hatchet jobs done on his movie. JD had some disses for The Lone Ranger but never on a major scale as Brad had suffered.

The one that got the best response in my theater was Anchorman 2. I never saw Anchorman so I will rent that then see AM2.. it looked funny. And I don’t usually see comedies at a theater.

Deadline keeps updating.. 25.5 million Friday
possible 62 million weekend.

Wonderbust @ 06/22/2013 at 10:22 am

Nikki has been way off for awhile. Offical estimates just came in and MOS did 12.7mil. If you recall yesterday Nikki said MOS was doing 17-19mil. I heard she loves Nolan so that could be why.

Sick of that whole Vanity Fair piece. It was a hatchet job, and I blame Paramount for some of it. Brad worked so hard and the success of this film is his and Marc Foster’s. Theirs because they were both front and center. They had to clean up after some fools at Paramount thought it would be a good idea to talk about how terrible the Production was. Even after Brad/Marc had already talked to Entertainment weekly. Ugh makes me mad.
if WWZ does over 50 million..Brad needs an apology. Seriously an apology.

#lylian @ 06/22/2013 at 9:34 am
Thanks’ lylian ITA with you how a one magazine can Single out one movie and lay blame at its door so openly and not do it to other that’s the part that baffles me. Vanity Fair haven’t done them selves justice believe me that been noted by others no one is quoting vanity are they? Graydon Carter should be ashamed of his shadiness.

Brad did the greatest promotion in my eyes he went straight to the FAN’s they are the core reason he made it and they are the Core People who will see it , yes I agree this is all done without slumming it at late night chat shows. like I said and don’t mind saying it again Brad & Paramount & Marc Foster are the ones having the last laugh, happy days.

By the way mailed you yesterday you must have missed it as there are so many news threads in-between lol How’s you holiday going are you still in China if so any news on when WWZ is going ahead in China?

William Hague opens Save the Children charity shop – on the eve of presenting a major security council report

5:17pm Friday 21st June 2013 in News By Emily Flanagan, Reporter

Foreign Secretary and Richmond Mr Hague cut the ribbon on the newly opened charity shop on Northallerton High Street.

The shop will raise funds for the charity’s campaigns in the UK and areas of disaster and conflict elsewhere in the world, including Syria. Mr Hague said supporting charities locally was a vital part of their work.“I think it’s very important,” he said. “I do a lot of work with Save the Children in many parts of the world. Their chief executive is on one of my advisory groups so I’m always listening to the views of the organisation.”

He said the charity’s recent report on Syria had outlined many of the problems facing children and families in the country. The report also showed brutal and shocking accounts of child torture.

Mr Hague said on Monday (June 24) he will hand over a report on sexual violence in conflict to the UN Security Council with Angelina Jolie, as special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The North Yorkshire MP recently travelled to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda with the Hollywood actress, to raise awareness of warzone rape and to meet survivors.

“This report is the work I’ve been doing over the last year, partly with Angelina Jolie. She will be there with me at the UN Security Council which I’ll chair on Monday.” In September the minister will take the issue to the whole of the UN to agree global action on ending sexual violence.

Now that Johnny will be making surprise appearances, which I am positive it was encouraged by the studios with the budget of their film. Do you think Ticky will try to do it for her next flop???

no, because who in hell would go to an advanced screening of a Ticky flick about a housewife/pole dancer and weed????????? It would be too damn embarrassing and they couldn’t take the twitter wrath to follow.

Golly… What is that smell? No… it’s not the popcorn!

Brad and Paramount are still pulling out all the stops to try and save this huge stinker that is destined to be the biggest, smelliest steaming turd in motion picture history.

What an accomplishment!

AWWWW. want a second helping of crow, hag|et? Brad and Angie don’t have to do a damn thing……it’s those damn movie go’ers who are choosing to see it based on WOM…….all good.

Sowwy, to see that you have to plant another stick in your jiggly azz over this, but what can we say…….you have been LOSING for nigh on a decade………so why stop now??????

Ya have to laugh……..a couple of random haters who have the narcissistic arrogance to think they can bring down the planet’s two biggest stars…………good luck with that, moron……….if your track record is any indicator……….the only FLOP you will hear about is WE ARE THE MORONS. Bawaaaaaaaaaaaaahahah.

“The way he promotes his film shows, how desperate they are and how much they are afraid, its gonna flop…”

Hi gc,
BP is a great businessman with solid work and business ethics. Those who criticize him for promoting this film do so for all the irrational wrong reasonings…probably a reflection of their own poor work ethic and lack of understanding how the majority of movies out these days have to depend on promotions and marketing to make a profit coupled with the high costs of production, marketing, salaries et al and how movie going has dropped dramatically due to the struggling economy and families being very discriminant regarding which movie to go to for a family outing and the ease of DVD’s access…it’s all about business and the economics. In essence BP is the one well known factor as producer and actor who can market and motivate movie goers…it all makes good business sense…he is also responsible not only for his reputation but for all of the cast, cameramen, script writers, distributors, who have invested in either their talent or financing…that’s a heavy burden which may energize him to take to such a rigorous schedule…WWZ is “his baby”…and anyone who has started a business understands how much emotionally, financially and physically is a responsible individual vested in all aspects of such a large enterprise. Anyone who criticizes obviously thinks they know better, which reflects on the bottomless pit of ignorance they thrash, wallow and self sub-merge in…truly doltish behavior. Example of s.t.u.p.i.d.i.t.y at it’s best is # 231 terry @ 06/21/2013 at 3:41 pm posting a comment that not only has not been proven to this date and moreover is not being proven with existing data to this date, distorting substantially better than average good reviews 25:2 to bad ones, furthermore the good reviews are by professional movie critics who are very critical( Roeper Sun Times, Roger Friedman, Corliss, Reed, Matlin) …why doesn’t terry just predict the end of the world, time and date…it’s because terry is an idiot, flogging his/her POV with no credibility or substantial evidence…assuming intelligent readers would believe in biased bottom dwelling fecaloid gibberish of biased threshing self muck.
Furthermore to this idiot and her comrades who question the motives of proven guaranteed positive-response business marketing, reading on the home page that JD made a surprise visit on a Lone Ranger screening…BP IS always a trend setter. After Spielberg’s recent comment, this may be a trend with Alisters…theater movie going is going through a transitional phase and what works to bring movie goers into the theaters, works and bottomline it is a business and “the top of the line” do what they have to do to ensure success in whatever form it takes…so you negative losers will always be negative losers and the JP’s will be on top because they are savvy using their name to benefit others, notable causes and the team that supports them in movies and in their business adventures. It’s a win-win for anyone associated with them except for you bottom dwelling haters…have fun wallowing in your unsubstantiated mean-spirited mental state which likely permeates your day to day life.

re:”Her words come off as critical and if she didn’t mean them to then she is clueless about how to communicate.”
Her words are definitely a reflection of how clueless AND insensitive to other individuals situation and remember she makes her living as a creative song writer/songstress…these individuals tend to communicate in their song writing because they feel more comfortable in that format and/or lack the skill in real life.
re: “Why she just didn’t share her own experience in coping with her surgery and cancer treatment is beyond me…”
because surgery and tx wasn’t appropriate and didn’t address AJ’s actions, which is the lead up to the Dx thereby taking away from any importance of ME’s personal action and decision which is the Tx. AJ’s decision/action essentially negated ME’s whole CA experience in ME’s mind which may the reason ME is reacting as such.
re: “instead she chose to be negative.”
some individuals are just negative as some are always see situations, past and future, on the positive side…it has to do with upbringing, how one generally deals with their day to day life challenges, positive and negative trigger points in ones past that bring forth embedded emotional “baggage.” She may be just a “negative” person which if you think about it, is her own personal “he.l.l.” it’s not easy being a negative, critical individual…many neutral/positive individuals do not like being around “negative” people especially men btw. Women tend to be more negative than men in general…men are more focused on “what is,” and the future, women on “what could have, should have been” and the past. IMO ME views her cancer as a “badge of honor” and she righteously emotionally feels “she earned it” and therefore “deserves to be able to speak on ‘it’” whereas those who have not been “through ‘it’” don’t know anything because they have never been through the “hardships” and therefore do not have “courage.” I know that sounds warped but that cancer event in ME’s life was an emotional trigger point for her. Also right brained individuals tend to feel like that whereas left brain would not rationally go there. Moreover, ME did not/does not have the savvy, nor notoriety punch that AJ has and is probably feeling over shadowed by one who has not earned the “badge of courage.”
Secondly, ME had her cancer in 2004 before voluntary mastectomy as a resource was probably even a discussed option in the medicine.
Thirdly, she does not fully understand the “family future” that the JP’s have embraced as their primary lifestyle. From my understanding her partner was the biological mother of their twins born AFTER ME had her cancer…my point being that ME is making a comment about a scenario she was A. at the time of her dx, not only given the same option AJ had and B. was not fully biologically or environmentally children/family oriented hence the importance of being a parent for children may not likely been as highly valued as by the JP’s by ME at the time of her CA decisions aka none of her children live with her full time. IMO she was asked a rather inappropriate ‘time and place’ question by the interviewer and possibly put in a position where she had to make a snap decision on a scenario she was not prepped for. I am not making excuses for her comment but ME is not necessarily from my observation exposed to routine obtuse media bombardment and force to answer such delicate sensitive questions. If she had said, “no comment”…the ridiculous media would have slanted that in a negative light as well..or a less than astute individual she may have been put in a da.m.n if she did, da.m.n if she didn’t position when asked a very ridiculous inappropriate question and she may have felt she had to answer…IMO ME is not necessarily the most savvy nor “on her toes” kind of woman as revealed in her statement…“cancer comes from inside you” and that you could turn it on or off with “stress” and “acidity levels”
This is the problem with non health care professionals reading self help, pop pseudo-medical bent articles…they take one comment too far and make it the conclusive answer for what they do not understand…all medical illnesses are much more complex than a one solution/answer…yes it is known toxins in the body can cause medical problems but there are heavy smokers who live longer than those who never have smoked, there are alcoholics whose livers outlast those who have never touched alcohol, professional athletes who drop dead while doing their sport etc. Individual medical conditions and his/her physiologic responses to tx are part genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, environmental exposures and even luck etc.
re: BP’s respond when asked how he “feels” re: ME’s statement…he’s balanced enough to know the media often re-interprets or takes out of context comments and prefers to sensationalize. BP responded as any logically thinking man with good values and ethics of “don’t say anything bad about anyone” would have been taught. People who put any emphasis on ME’s comments and/or react negatively to how he handled it are firstly right brained themselves such that they are blinded by their own biases, controlling type personalities and have their own personal emotional agenda as first priority.
re: from the Extra 6-13 interview:
when asked about the story , which came out today, that Melissa called Angie’s decision to have a double mastectomy “fearful” when speaking with the Washington Blade Brad who had not heard the comments yet responded, “Oh, I didn’t know, I haven’t seen her…Melissa is an old friend of mine, so I’ll have to give her a call.”
If BP only heard of ME’s comments through this short bit, no wonder he had no comment…he really didn’t know what she said. Furthermore, ME being a friend of BP…apparently not, he said “I have not seen her”.
some of the negative posters speculating about BP’s lack/perceived inadequate response in defense of AJ to ME comments are only projecting their own fear, distrust of their significant other not defending them…their romanticism and expectation of what a significant other “should” do is their issue…it’s a women “romance/western storyline, fairytale, embedded emotional dilemma…sad…get over it…real life is not a fairytale story.

Johnny Depp is copying Brad. lol.

Live&LetLive @ 06/22/2013 at 11:27 am

I wish some of you fans would stop badmouthing MOS. Not everyone is at war with Brad and Angie. What has HC done to you? I am looking forward to seeing WWZ today in 3D with my crew of six. I am so happy WWZ is doing well. Brad and crew worked really hard and deserve all the success in the world.

Why waste you time on the haters. Even if Brad’s movie did extremely well, the haters will fine something wrong with it.

Johnny Depp did a surprise appearance screening. Gee, I wonder where he got that idea from. I don’t see the trolls going after him.

No need to be Sorry my dear you do what you have to do first lol as long as you made sure all that gunk of slime is wiped off your boot after you trampled over the Troll, my concern is for your boot lol…
Some of my friends have seen it (TITE) said its good, I haven’t seen Anchor Man1 either but the trailer for No2 looks good might go and see that Christen Wiig is in it I like her.
Have you heard that Johnny Depp is piggy backing Brad in attending Screenings honestly, my main concern is are his fans going to be able to recognise him without captain jack make up? and would they understand that mumbling lol ok my bad… I like the guy but considering he’s thrown his EX under the bridge to promote this movie I am having reservations…I guess next stop for him would be visiting Jimmy Fallon to Yoddel .

I don’t see anyone bashing MOS. But you may want to go to some movie sites and see how they were in fact Bashing WWZ.

I think the fans are not bashing MOS or HC. I haven’t see MOS but will next weekend. I said; like many fans here said that I would give my money to Brad’s film first, and have no problem saying so. I think most of the comments discussing the two films are in answer to previous post and threads and what the trolls were saying leading up to this weekend opening.

I don’t have anything against HC. But I really wish some commenters schooling the fans would be just as quick to defend and/or support us when the trolls were here for weeks trashing this film and saying how great HC is over Brad. Yet nothing. I don’t see the fans here randomly trashing other stars. Do we answer the trolls when they come here and compare Brad or Angie to someone else. Yes and will continue to do so. If you have been reading these post past and present, you will have seen many fans congratulating Mr. Cavill on MOS success last weekend. But I won’t hold my breath that the vast majority of MOS fans will do the same for Brad. And I won’t wait for people to call them out on it either.

$170 million, not $190 million @ 06/22/2013 at 11:58 am

The final budget for WWZ was $170 million, not $190 million.  I only heard two verifiable numbers from Paramount- an initial $150 million* budget and $20 million in reshoots (Brad Grey has been quoted saying this number more than once).  The $200 million, the the $400 million and even the $190 million budget numbers ALL were rounding, hybrids of lies & rounding, and/or plain old lies that have been reported with GREAT GUSTO as fact, yet none of them were true.  I’m not trying to troll-bait, just set forth the facts as they can be proven.  Brad is already the richest man in the world (his words) because he has his sweet Angie and precious children, so he doesn’t “need” WWZ to make even one dollar.  However, as long time JP fan, I can’t help but love seeing WWZ prove the troll and media trolls wrong- we’ve seen this so many times- from break up rumors to EXTREME lies about almost every JP project re: quality/profitability. Success is the best revenge.  BTW- WWZ is SO GOOD- I went with my scaredy cat sis and she loved it, too.  We both were big fans of Max B’s book- you can love both!!

*I recall that during pre-production/early production times there was an ESTIMATED $125 million budget, but the $150 million has been the established number for a while now.

thing is Brad thinks outside the box. Not many actors of his statue are doing that. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

showing up for those screenings were GENIUS. pure GENIUS. and it worked. He has set a standard and we are going to see others right out copy or do some variation on that theme. But we all know and will remind them that Brad Pitt did it first. I hope the final numbers are great. That will be the best FU to the trolls.

can you sense them in pain and trying to come up with how to spin this.

$170 million, not $190 million @ 06/22/2013 at 12:10 pm

My post was getting long, so I forgot to add this- My sister & I saw it in 2D because the 3D times didn’t work in our schedules.  I, n the movie theater lobby, people that has seen it in 3D said, “You HAVE to see it in 3D!!”.  I already had plans (& online tickets) to see it again in 3D tonight with my husband…my sister called & wants to go again, too!!  She went online & our screening was sold out, but she picked another 3D time & is taking her neighbor & her son- WWZ has great legs!!!

Just to add.. when an actor does a surprise pop in.. they will say he/she is doing a Brad Pitt.

just like with Angie leg at the oscar.. See they are the standard.

Official estimate @ 06/22/2013 at 12:17 pm

From 25 friday and 62 weekend.

The official box office number does not come out until Monday. The numbers we read today are just estimates. But I am glad WWZ is having a great OW. Now all those websites can delete there neg stories about Brad and WWZ that they planned on posting Monday.

Wonderbust @ 06/22/2013 at 12:27 pm

@Official estimate: with egg on their faces since they predicted $40mil then changed to $45mil. Others are saying it will do $65 or $68 it all depends on today.

LA Times

Brad Pitt is a model for aging actors

Critic’s Notebook: Getting older puts pressure on male stars, and some deal with it better than others. Clint Eastwood continues to make great films; Robert De Niro doesn’t.

In watching Marc Forster’s new action drama “World War Z,” it’s hard not to be struck by how well Brad Pitt is aging.

Yes, there’s the slightest of silver highlighting his long locks, and the added distinction those little lines are etching on his face, and that his body somehow defies the gravitational pull — but they’re not the reason for my fascination. It’s the ironic way the zombie thriller — a cleverly high-minded horror hoot — shows how carefully the actor is working his way through the treacherous terrain of the middle-aged movie star.

I realize it may qualify as heresy to pull the spotlight off actresses even for a moment. They’ve had to deal with the aging issue forever. Feminist enlightenment hasn’t softened the realities of working in front of the camera, and the world at large has hardly eased its focus on the whole youth-equals-beauty mythology.

Which may be why we have overlooked, or underestimated, the pressures aging puts on male stars. Right now, we have an impressive generation of major male stars just getting into the thick of it — Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Will Smith, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey among the most prominent. All are in their 40s but DiCaprio, who is nearly there, 39 in November. At the moment, the 50s belong to Denzel Washington, George Clooney and (if you can believe it) Johnny Depp.

They can learn from their elders (if not always betters). Some major marquee names have struggled mightily — Tom Cruise is Exhibit One. Cruise turns 51 in July, looks more like 41, yet you can feel the age unsettling, rather than enriching, his work. Director Michael Mann’s “Collateral” in 2004 was the actor’s last great film. In the years since, there have been some middling “Mission Impossibles.” But the romantic action of “Knight and Day” was embarrassing. His cartoony sendup of a Hollywood producer in “Tropic Thunder” and his raging, aging rock star in “Rock of Ages” wobble on that thin line between laughing “with” and “at.”

In this year’s “Oblivion,” the actor was the best thing about a B-movie, not reassuring. And never has the star looked more vulnerable, and not in a good way, than shirtless and posturing in last year’s disastrous “Jack Reacher.”

DiCaprio in contrast, who like Cruise found success early, seems eager to take on characters that challenge even if, at times, that means an ancillary role. His smarmy, sadistic Southern bigot in “Django Unchained,” was about as unlikable as any the actor has every played — and about as well drawn. Even in movies that haven’t quite measured up — like “The Great Gatsby” — DiCaprio has, an actor of real solidity.

groundcontrol @ 06/22/2013 at 12:34 pm

WWZ BO . . . Looking good.
Now now . . . I like to think Johnny is paying homage to Brad. Nothing wrong with following up on a great dea.

Ya just gotta love it. Good on Brad and shame on the media gang up on this production. They did it to Angie with the Tourist as well…… Brad says, he has a target on his back; well so does Angie …….they are so big now the next move in the HW game is to bring them down…..especially the publicist community…….they don’t want them to succeed managing their own careers.

I see Huvsy is working the midnight oil with Jaw-’Reese Teaspoon …she is effing everywhere……on Peeps today with her little dress and how do you like it……….a poster on Celebitchy called Peeps ‘Kneepad’ journalism……..loved it. Old horse trading game…….gimme a cover and I’ll give you an exclusive down the road……….no integrity whatsoever.

Wonder if HoHandler will be giving out free tickets if you attend her show for ticky’s pending FLOP? And the morons spew over Brad promoting his blockbuster…….right. Guess she’ll come crawling out from under her extensions soon to p*imp her latest dud………her peeps cover certainly didn’t change the subject when Brad was promoting WWZ……..nobody cared. So obvious now that people are just weary of her preying on Angie and Brad to get press.

I think she met her ‘strategy’ match in Squigs….he’s using her to the max……….the same way she has used the JP’s to stay in the game……….karma is a biitch and she will have enough for years to come.

Busted -
I looked for Mad, but like Brad said – you can’t actually see him. He’s in one of the crowd scenes where a lot of zombies get shot. I think it was the Israel section. It’s not like he had a closeup or anything like that.
Re: M&MS’s BO – it had a multiple of about 3.7. Paramount would LOVE to have that multiple on WWZ but in order to do so the movie is going to have to have legs and there are a LOT of big films being released in the next 3 weeks. I’m interested to see how it fares next week against that godawful looking Sandy Bullock\M. Mccarthy movie. That thing looks atrocious. It’s also playing against a Channing Tatum movie and I must’ve been asleep when he became a box office draw…cuz…I don’t get it. He can’t act a lick and he’s not even that good looking – body included. The following week both TLR and Despicable Me 2 start on Wed for a 5-day weekend run that’ll surely see both films make over $100MIL, so WWZ has a LOT of competition in the next 2 weekends and the 4th weekend doesn’t get any better with Grown Ups 2 and Pacific Rim. We gotta hope for some clunkers in there in order to a decent multiple. With all that competition it’s looking more like 2-2.5 than 3.

it’s funny how everyone was dissing the movie now everyone is changing their tune. lol loved the movie. it was so suspenseful I was at the edge of my seat, so were others. I’ll be seeing again with my boyfriend. ahhh can’t wait. always be a Brad & Angelina fan…

# 219 WWZ @ 06/22/2013 at 7:45 am
saw this on a box office forum and it deserves to be repeated

Michael Gary Scott, on 21 Jun 2013 – 9:15 PM, said:

WWZ was maligned in the media before anyone had even seen it.

As Brad said – this brouhaha was because it was HIM. For some reason, latent hen-ness?, the naysayers were gleeful because they thought they’d found something to bash Brad for. They didn’t have any facts and ran with rumor and now look like a bunch of dunderheads. WhetHer it was because of a secret agenda or the usual agenda of using Brad (or Angie’s) name to generate buzz ans sales and therefore M-O-N-E-y FOR THEM is sort of moot. They didn’t do the same thing to Depp and his movie was a bigger disaster than WWZ before it even got made. The production started late because Depp got dumped by Paradis. Then they stopped production a couple of times to deal with problems on set – from a stuntman injury (or was it a death?) down to Depp’s horse not wanting to cooperate. They moved location 2 different times because they were over their allotted time and it was booked for something else, etc., etc., etc. Where’s the VF story on that? Oh year, I remember now – Depp did a cover story for them last year and Brad keeps turning them down. THAT’S A BINGO!
Also, as far as Brad proving that HW star power is not dead – here’s the thing, Brad doesn’t usually do the talk show circuit or much media to promote his movies. Therefor he hasn’t work nout his welcome with the public. He and Angie both keep to themselves and aren’t out in public making fools for themselves or setting up photo ops to show off their new rings or weave or whatever. They’re not being talked about as possible alcoholics or for having an open marriage. And they don’t push their kids into a public life. They don’t show up for every fashion event known to man. For his entire career Brad has not been comfortable with being under the microscope and expected to be hunky but dumb every second of the day. Therefore when the public DOES see you, they’re awed by the fact that you came to them and they didn’t have to do anything to get you there. That’s not just star power – that’s an anti-star life that allows him to be a “star” on HIS terms and not HW’s.

# 223 Update in @ 06/22/2013 at 8:11 am
I think a sequel will depend on Brad’s willingness to do it. Like he said, he’s not really “franchise guy”. He gets bored so that’ll be interesting to see if he signs on. Plus, this time I think all parties will agreed to one very specific point – they will have a better script, especially the 3rd act, going in. They knew even before they shot the film that the 3rd act kinda sucked, so Par can’t boohoohoo that they were surprised. Neither can Brad or anyone else. They knew it and just hoped it would work out or that they’d come up with a better idea as they filmed. Lesson learned. I hope.

LOL about Matt McC’s face. Well, he los tthe weight for Dallas Buyer’s Club, which ironically enough was a movie that at one time Brad and Marc Forster were going to make together. I saw a story on him a few weeks back and he said he’d gained back 30 but still had another 10 or 15 to go. He’ll be fine. He’s too much of an exercise freak not to. I’m just glad he’s stopped doing romcoms and elevated his game into dramas. He’s in his 40′s now like s certain romcom ho we could name but unlike her he has the chops for sequing out of that genre into different types of ADULT roles. He’s 43 playing 43 and not pretending he’s still 24 and competing with much younger actors – and losing out to them because they’re better AND younger.

I think they’re probably saving it for DVD release as an extra. If they’re smart they’ll also include the ending that sucked. Then people will see the difference and why they reworked the ending…but mainly because it’s a great selling feature. Studios include alternate endings on DVDs all the time but rarely do they include the ones that sucked.

hehehehee… afraid Maniston will also show up on her 30 mil movie screanin’………….

PT, I sent you a doc during the week. Not sure if I alerted you or not.
But you are completely correct about the media only scrutinizing WWZ so much because it IS Brad. I tend to see it as just a way they can get hits and readers. I don’t think much of it is personal – it’s just business. It’s how they make their money – they write what they think the public wants to read about – Brad Pitt! or Angelina. On any topic.
I’m sure there’s an element of schadenfreude syndrome – but Brad is very well liked by the media. Like Bill Maher said once, to paraphrase him Brad could kill a car full of sweet innocent nuns and puppies and he’d get a pass. LOL!

chunky pipe @ 06/22/2013 at 2:18 pm

@Passing Through:
I think a sequel will depend on Brad’s willingness to do it.
Agreed. Though I could see Brad just producing again and having a minor role. I think a sequel would allow for some of the smaller stories to be explored now that the global aspect of the story has been established. Viewers would have in mind the global scene taking place outside the traditional geographical confines of most zombie movies. It could make for some nice sequels to show how various elements of society around the world survived or didn’t survive. I have some favorites from the book but most of them would have to be fleshed out quite a bit.

Kaiser is an idiot. It really took her a week and a half to figure out the reason Ticky was on the Peeps cover? Shite. THAT WAS THE FIRST THING WE SAID! LOL. I guess Kaiser stopped lurking over here.
BTW – that story was from the NE and is obviously a plant from Huvsy. How can you “piggyback” off someone who has to audition for roles the same way you do and 99 times out 100 tries loses out to someone better – and younger? Mindboggling. I loved the bit where NE said Squiggy’s career is “booming”. Yes, in Ticky terms it is – 1 job in nearly 3 years is a booN…but it sure as fvck ain’t “booming.” I’ll tell ya one thing – working for a living is going to wreak havoc on Squiggy’s workout schedule. Maybe Ticky can teach him how to juggle that with the superbusy work schedule of filming 1 1-hour tv PILOT. If he’s even making $100K for this I’m gonna be shocked. What would be really funny is that HBO buys the pilot…and then recasts his role because he’s wth weak link – just like his sugarmama. LOL.

Per the USA Today quote I posted for Tampon this morning – Paramount said the movie cost $190MIL. They originally spent $170MIL and told VF that the reshoots cost $20MIL. That’s $190MIL. As Finke pointed out this morning this is AFTER tax rebates from the cities they shot in. Also, BOM is listing it at $190MIL because that’s the number that Paramount is officially giving out.

Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ Gets Critics’ Love Amid Solid Opening
Moviegoers Ignore Reems of Bad Pre-Release Publicity

By TheImproper Staff, June 22nd, 2013

Brad Pitt’s movie World War Z defies its pre-release publicity at the box office.
Brad Pitt’s new movie “World War Z” is is trending positive among critics and also drawing moviegoers on its way to an estimated $63 million opening weekend in the face of stiff competition–a far cry from the pre-release publicity. How could critics be so wrong?

The zombie action flick was routinely cited by hot-shot critics as an odds-on favorite to become one of the biggest box office disasters in recent history.

With a bloated budget, estimated at $400 million, and a plot so muddled the ending had to re-written and re-shot in post-production, it looked like it Pitt was headed for film infamy. But so far, it’s received a 67 percent critical rating on rottentomatoes, which puts it well within the “Fresh” category.

The film is doing even better among top critics at major Web outlets and newspapers. Based on their reviews, the film has received a 71 percent rating. Positive reviews are outpacing negative reviews by about two-to-one.

What’s more, 86 percent of those who saw the movie said they liked it, which bodes well for all-important word-of-mouth advertising, according to the site, which tracks reviews. It also received a “B+” rating from audiences, according to CinemaScore.

And the results are showing up at the box office. It beat expectations with a $25.5 million Friday opening and is expected to gross $63 milion over the weekend for a second place finish behind No. 1 “Monster’s University.” The Disney animated family film is expected to gross $79 million, according to

Among the film’s strengths, Pitt is getting high marks for his performance. “Pitt conducts himself manfully throughout the proceedings — he is never less than believable while facing off against this pandemi,” writes Peter Rainer in the Christian Science Monitor.

Even the snooty New Yorker gave it a thumbs up. “Despite some conventional passages and a soft ending, Forster and Brad Pitt, who is a producer of the film as well as its star, pulled the picture together,” wrote critic Dave Denby. “They also managed to reawaken in a large-scale movie the experience of shock.”

Not surprisingly, opinion was fairly polarized; either critics liked it or hated it, there wasn’t much middle ground.

“It’s an anemic actioner that fosters excitement like dead limbs as it lumbers toward a conclusion,” wrote Joe Neumaier for the New York Daily News.

The movie focuses on Pitt a United Nations worker who is enlisted to help investigate the virus and the source of the outbreak that is turning millions of people into ravenously mad, human flesh-eating zombies. From there, it’s a cat and mouse game as Pitt descends into their world looking for answers.

The special effects are said to be eye-popping especially in 3D. Check out the trailer below. If you’ve seen the flick let us know your thoughts and follow TheImproper on Twitter for the latest movie updates.

@chunky pipe:

Honey I completely agree. People living trailer parks or on Government assistance shouldn’t be paying to see this movie. You need to be saving all those pennies. I know the economy is still pretty bad. So not a surprise that they said they would wait for a cheaper option. But nice to see when they can afford to they will be seeing it. NICE

Great to hear.

Oh shit, I’ll have to get my magnifying glass.

@busted: HBO buys the pilot and recasts his role, be nice, I want Squiggy to get a job, because homeboy do not want to get married.

World War Z Review (Rick’s Take)
Posted on June 22, 2013 by Rick Tym
Review Overview
Movie Score

Everyone with an internet connection and affection for film knows the troubles behind World War Z, Brad Pitt’s adaptation of the extremely popular Max Brooks 2006 novel which tells stories of a world after the zombie apocalypse from the view of many individuals. Release dates were delayed, endings were rewritten, and even the novel’s author commented (albeit in a kindly fashion) that the finished product seemed to have no semblance to his written work. To summarize, no one was expecting too much when this film released this weekend.

Here’s hoping that word of mouth spreads as fast as the depicted contagion and people give it a chance, because it is a smart, taut thriller that does not disappoint.

The set pieces in World War Z are impressive, and the film definitely lives up to its blockbuster intent in terms of action. To be honest, the only thing disappointing is that the multiple trailers eventually became so specific that it is easy for viewers to guess what action beat is coming next. That doesn’t make the spectacle any less impressive, but it does reduce the suspense and moments of surprise a bit.

Even more impressive than the action (and trust me, there’s a lot of running around going on…between seeing this, Man of Steel and Fast & Furious 6 over the past week, I need a drama or romcom to slow things down) is the fact that World War Z is a thinking person’s movie. The movie never explicitly spells out what Lane’s former job was, exactly, at the U.N., but whatever it was involved some type of investigations in hot spots and war zones, so he’s plenty clever enough to string together various clues that pop up during his travels to use his brains as much as his legs (and a crowbar here and there) to stay alive. It may not be the smartest thriller ever released, and some of the clues are rather obvious upon first viewing, but World War Z has enough smarts to make impact with most of these considerations.

The human elements of the film are also well done. While Gerry races around the world, his family (a wife and two daughters) are left behind to wait and wonder whether Dad will be able to help in stopping the madness that lurks on every horizon. Nobody is particularly well-developed from a character standpoint here, but the movie is a snapshot of a few hectic days after the zombie apocalypse, so it’s not hard to buy into the relationships, and the small moments that do occur on a human level are righteously earned. One that stuck out to me the most was Pitt’s character and a doctor discussing what has and may be sacrificed during such horrific circumstances. Emotion and regret flow in this scene through Pitt with conviction and ease, showing that he still is one of the better male leads working in Hollywood these days.

Is World War Z the Brad Pitt zombie show? To a certain extent, but all of the supporting characters have enough to do and provide ample support to his Gerry Lane character. Everyone i has a purpose, and thankfully most of the cast isn’t relegated to becoming zombie snacks. I will say that I’m not sure if I would consider this movie as entertaining and (mostly) successful in its efforts as I do if it weren’t for Pitt’s presence in the lead role. But all this does is cement Pitt’s continued status as a competent leading man (no surprise there, and yes I am an unapologetic fan of the man).
Let’s close this review with a quick discussion of that third act. Reviews have been divisive on how things switch gear from wham-bam action-set-piecey scenes to a more intimate setting to end the film. Some have had problems with that but quite honestly this reviewer thinks that this is the aspect that really makes the film work. Before the third act all we’ve seen is dizzying hordes of infected savages rolling towards the camera…sure that’s satisfying but there’s only so many CGI crowds one can take before such spectacle is rendered at least partially ineffective. This third act gets more intimate with the threat and those in danger, and because of this the film earns its resolution.

That’s twice now that I’ve used the term “earn” in this review. And that just about sums it up. World War Z is not the best zombie film ever made, but it’s also not like (read: copying) a lot of them. Pitt and company succeed in telling a good story with effective and convincing acting in both explosive and quiet, thoughtful moments. If you were or are the least bit interested in this movie – and you really can discard all worries about the discontent that swirled around this property during production – you should definitely check it out. It’s worth your while.

Next week it’ll be business as usual and she’ll be making up stories about how Angie’s jealous of WWZ’s successs or that Brad was “not there for her” because he was tied up with the movie, blah, blah, blah. World War Z: Brad Pitt’s 20 Greatest Roles Ever

By Adam Best – Jun 22nd, 2013 at 3:29 pm
20. Early Grayce – Kalifornia

The future A-lister did his best to survive the ill-fated combo of goofy spelling and Juliette Lewis.

19. Paul Maclean – A River Runs Through It

The Robert Redford-helmed period piece proved Pitt was more than a hunk.

18. Heinrich Harrer – Seven Years in Tibet

One of the big early Pitt films. You feel like you should like more than you did.

17. Michael – Sleepers

Great cast. Good legal drama. Brad managed to hold his own with Best Actor winners De Niro and Hoffman.

16. J.D. – Thelma & Louise

Memorable bit role that kicked off a career. Started from the bottom now we here.

15. Louis de Pointe du Lac – Interview with the Vampire

Was he a bit hammy at times? Yes, but Pitt mostly found his groove and made magic with Tom Cruise.

14. Tristan Ludlow – Legends of the Fall

Obligatory for-the-ladies selection. This period piece turned him into the mid-90s version of Gosling.

13. Rusty Ryan – Ocean’s Eleven Trilogy

No heavy lifting whatsoever, but he was certainly an irreplaceable part of this now iconic ensemble.

12. Jackie Cogan – Killing Them Softly

As we saw in Fight Club, Bad Brad is a lot of fun. His take on a heartless hitman was nuanced yet realistic.

11. Richard – Babel

Took top honors at Cannes while it Crash-ed at the Oscars. The Pittster was a big reason why this depressing international tale even contended for such awards.

10. Floyd – True Romance

More time on screen and his stoner cameo would’ve ranked higher. It was the small roles, not the leads, that made this movie such a brilliant one.

9. David Mills – Seven

Hanging with Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey is a tall task. Especially when notorious perfectionist David Fincher is making you do hundreds of takes.

8. Chad Feldheimer – Burn After Reading

Getting to finally see Brad Pitt work with the Coen Brothers was a real treat. This turn as a dopey, frosted-tipped personal trainer was one of the, um, highlights of the espionage spoof.

7. Mickey O’Neil – Snatch

Regardless of whether you like dags or not — or understood one damn word Pitt said in this role — it’s impossible to deny that he stole the show.

6. Jeffrey Goines – 12 Monkeys

This performance was more than “monkey business.” It proved that Pitt could be both versatile and a role player, playing a psycho-ward Pippen to Bruce’s jailhouse Jordan.

5. Jesse James – The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

A criminally, criminally underrated Western (-ish) gem. Pitt holds his own as the iconic titular character.

4. Billy Beane – Moneyball

Either this baseball economics pic or Midnight in Paris should’ve won best picture. Pitt carried this film from start to finish. Instantly one of the best sports movies ever.

3. Benjamin Button – The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

There’s range. Then there is playing one man over the course of his entire life. THEN there is playing one man over the course of his entire life backwards.

2. Tyler Durden – Fight Club

We’re gonna ignore the first and the second rule here. After all, this is one of the most talked about movies of the last 20 years. Pitt’s performance helped make Fight Club the most subversive mainstream classic since possibly The Graduate.

1, Lt. Aldo Raine – Inglourious ********

Throw down a sauerkraut sammich in honor of Aldo the Apache, one of the best parts of arguably Quentin Tarantino’s greatest flick. “Arrivederci” will never be the same.

Boy it burns that person spamming the thread that WWZ is successful.
Go Brad Go WWZ, the jealous haters are in pain.

@Passing Through: passing w stop with your ticky…for starters… ahhhh

World War Z Poised to Flex Muscles at the Box Office

Reporter: David Chirico
June 22, 2013
in Business

Paramount Pictures’ ‘World War Z’ may not be expected to beat ‘Monster University’ from Walt-Disney and Pixar at the box office but it will surely not be a disaster movie in terms of results. The zombie thriller, which stars Brad Pitt who also co-produced it, is more likely to perform better in the coming few days.

Despite mixed reviews, more moviegoers still seem interested about this odd flick. Initial figures show that the movie is off to a good start. The film is based on the 2006 noel with the same title from author Max Brooks.

Cost Overruns

The movie has drawn controversy for its reported cost-overruns. A total of $190 million (post tax incentives) was spent to produce the film. According to reports, extensive re-shoots of some scenes bolstered the budget, which was originally set at $150 million. The producer was spared for incurring additional costs for rights as it is an original property.

The movie, as claimed by insiders, had last-hour changes to its ending. That explains why its original schedule for release was postponed from December 2010 to June 2013. In the movie, Pitt played the role of a United Nations bureaucrat who is searching for a cure to a virus that turn people into living zombies.

Initial and projected gross

Paramount Pictures expects the movie to generate about $40 million to $45 million in domestic debut. Fortunately, it is projected to open in a higher range of $45 million to $50 million.

‘World War Z’ grossed $3.6 million overnight on its opening day in North America on Thursday (June 20). Interestingly, that same day, it was thought to have competed against the highly publicized final NBA championship for the public’s attention.

When it opened, the movie was screened in about 2,600 movie houses across North America. Before weekend, it was exhibited in more than 3,600 movie screens in the region. If those screenings would be ideally packed, ‘World War Z’ would take a strong potential to earn around $50 million in its first weekend, which is in line with revised expectations.

Great hopes

Paramount and Skydance productions, its co-financing partner, hope the movie performs better at the box office. The producers are optimistic that ‘World War Z’ would have the same fate as other blockbuster movies, which posted slower opening date grosses. ‘Avatar’ (2009) and ‘Inception’ (2010) were cited as those films grossed $77 million and $62.8 million on their debut respectively. The two movies earned $760.5 million and $292.6 million overall, respectively.

Internationally, ‘World War Z’ grossed $5.7 million on its opening date. The figure mostly accounts for earnings in Australia, Argentina, and South Korea, where the horror and science fiction film performs strongly at the box office.

Brad Pitt In ‘World War Z’ Russia Premiere: Actor Has Not Aged In 20 Years

Posted: 06/22/2013 2:49 pm EDT | Updated: 06/22/2013 2:50 pm EDT

Forget the leather pants and kinda sheer shirt: The thing we noticed the most about Brad Pitt during the “World War Z” Russia premiere this week was his striking resemblance to his “Legends of the Fall” days. But it’s more than Pitt’s luscious blond locks and penchant for reveal chest wear — the 49-year-old actor appears to have barely aged in the past 20 years.

Check out Brad Pitt at the “World War Z” premiere in Moscow on June 20, 2013:

And you’re not good at reading comprehension so I hardly thing you are in any position to judge me, BBQ. Oops…I’m probably not supposed to know it’s you since you’re not using that name anymore. Put my comment about WWZ’s multiple back IN CONTEXT. I know that’s difficult for you but give it the old college try.
PS – Box office pundits were wrong about WWZ and I think they’ll most likely be wrong about TLR, too. Like I said – it’s Captain Jack Sparrow on a horse – minus the boozy, coked up Keith Richards swagga, a bunch of explosions. That’ll be enough to get people into the theater the first weekend. Besides, it’s a 5-day “weekend”. If it can average $20MIL per day, it’ll do $100MIL.

Angelina Jolie used ‘Pocahontas’ during Brad Pitt affair when checking into hotels

A new lawsuit has revealed details of the affair between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt during the filming of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

Eunice Huthart, who has been Jolie’s stunt double in several movies, including “Smith,” is suing New Corp, claiming reporters from its tabloids The Sun and News of the World hacked her phone in order to run stories about the budding relationship between Jolie and Pitt in 2004 and 2005, reports Reuters.

One such message has Jolie saying she is checked into a hotel under the pseudonym “Pocahontas,” which is kind of funny, since Pitt’s character in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” is named “John Smith,” the man who has been turned into a Romeo to Pocahontas’ Juliet in romanticized versions of the Native American story.

Huthart is the godmother to Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the eldest of Jolie and Pitt’s biological children. She is seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit

This is the first time the News of the World phone hacking scandal has really come into the forefront in the United States, though phone hacking lawsuits have been taking place in Britain against News Corp for several years.

Are loons still denying that they committed adultery?

World war zone has been trending on twitter all day

Katherine @ 06/22/2013 at 5:32 pm

Huthart was named as a victim of the hacking scandal when it was first in the news. I read it in the Guardian. Her name was in the official charges report. From that the gossip media preferred to use Brad and Angelina’s names as “victims” in their headlines (quelle surprise!) rather than Huthart’s name. They would print that Brad and Angelina were victims leading people falsely believing that somehow Brad and/or Angelina’s phones were hacked – and from there some people started in on even more fantastical speculation that actual phone conversations of Brad and Angelina were wiretapped – which of course was untrue. There was no wiretapping by the NOTW – it was hacking into phone messages.

This should go to further prove that the media and the so called gossipists had no reports prior to this period of time in 2005 that there was anything between Brad and Angelina. I think it’s fair to assume that if there really had been anything they would have been all over that bit of info in a flash and started their hounding of Angelina before they did.

Remember that model who some tabloid claimed was seeing Brad – maybe in Feb or March 2005? They even published photos claiming they were of Brad (they weren’t) in some foreign location.

Despite all this malarkey about Brad cheating on Jennifer there has never been any proof or even any detailed rumors or evidence that panned out.

So here is further proof about when their relationship really began. AFTER the separation.

Now, just start saving your money so you can go see TommyGirl’s next acshen flick on 3D, as many times as you like. We, fans of Brad, won’t complain. BTW, I went to see WWZ with hubby and 2 of our nephews, and we loved it, and it was in 3D. There, cookie.

Pocahontas @ 06/22/2013 at 5:41 pm

That’s no proof and it doesn’t make sense. No one said that Jolie or Pitt’s phones got hacked. Learn how to read.

Huthart’s phone got hacked and its contents were exposed. Why would she sue if there is nothing to hide? She could’ve dismissed everything as tabloid lies.

The lengths a loon goes to try to mask the truth about the adultery.

Brad short story @ 06/22/2013 at 6:05 pm

what adultery are you talking about for 9 years.

January – Brad and Dirty-X sign the divorce. Angie was in a humanitarian mission in Africa

Febrory – Jen begin to Fvck Vince V. for sport because she want to make jealous to brad thinking he would go back to her. Ha, ha, ha,

March – Brad start the difficult task to conquer the love of Angie. Showing to her that he could be a trusty person and a good parent.

April – Brad finally prove that he is a honor man, it will be a great father and a fantastic lover that want to build a family with Angie and be with her for the rest of theirs life.

…………. the rest is history. That´s the truth and that´s life…..

I wonder which is the source of this “article”, I googled it and it just takes me to 2 or 3 weird blogs or pages, and some pop2it or zapit suspicious blog.
The outcome of the hacking came in articles in April and May 2005. They (ticky and brad) were already officially separated and divorcing. If they were hacking since 2004, they did not have any evidence beforehand. There are better articles about the subject out there, stating dates and titles, but haters will choose an obscure post that leans toward their “team”.

Pocahontas @ 06/22/2013 at 6:07 pm

@Chunky Pipe loves PT:

Nice try at deflection but you can’t deny they committed adultery. Sorry that truth hurts.

Hahaha! Look at the pics of those cute girls in the pic, they are añready tall! They are going to be able to drive and the haters will still be complaining about the triangle. Pathetic.

groundcontrol @ 06/22/2013 at 6:09 pm

“Eunice Huthart, who has been Jolie’s stunt double in several movies, including “Smith,” is suing New Corp, claiming reporters from its tabloids The Sun and News of the World hacked her phone in order to run stories about the budding relationship between Jolie and Pitt in 2004 and 2005, reports Reuters.”
This is typical of how this has been twisted. This excerpt makes it see as if there was a budding relationship in 2004 according to Huthart’s phone hacking when there is not.
There is NOTHING in the 2004 hacking that relates to Brad and Angie as a couple. Those hackings were about Huthart’s own family and how the hacking process ended up deleting phone calls from her husband and daughter causing trouble and misunderstanding in her relationships with them.
It wasn’t until 2005 that there was any info about Brad and Angie as a couple.
THAT’S why, if this hacking shows anything about Brad and Angie, it shows they weren’t a couple until 2005.
Since Huthart is someone Angie obviously confided in
and DID know about them as a couple and when they became a couple
AND neither Huthart nor Angie were aware of the hacking of phone messages,
and felt comfortable leaving Brad related telephone messages on Huthart’s phone
THEN it is reasonable to infer that there would have been info about Brad and Angie as a couple before 2005.
Since there was nothing gleaned from Huthart’s phone messages about Brad and Angie from 2004 then I think it is reasonable to infer that they were NOT a couple in 2004.
See how reasonable inferences can be made. Reasonable inferences are accepted in courts all the time.
And, yes, there have been many people and media that claimed that Brad and Angie were personally hacked. In fact many articles at the time and idiots at other sites have named Brad and Angie as victims of the phone hacking scandal with no reference to Huthart leaving the reader to believe their personal phones had been hacked.

Stop displaying your inability to read for comprehension – again. If you had bothered to copy the full story on Eunice’s lawsuit the story clearly said she used that name in April 2005 – nearly 4 months AFTER Brad dumped the “dead end” and also after the divorce has been filed. Per the laws of the state of California once a couple is legally separated, which a divorce agreement obviously signifies, then neither party can use the spouse’s new relationships against the other party. Ergo, in plain English for your edification – THEY DID NOT HAVE AN AFFAIR. DOH!
Man – 8 1/2 years and the hens are still bitter as hell. Brad and Angie be in their 80s and 90s and these tricks will steal be going on about Brad dumping the Tickster for a REAL woman who’s life’s ambition goes beyond The Mostest Perfectest Hair Day (sans Extra Weave Hair).

You do realise hacking someones phone is illegal, while booking in to a hotel with an obvious alias is not. I’m sure the hotel management would have known who Pochohontas was, therefore the person had nothing to hide.

I see the troll is switching tactics.. That whole hacking article has been discussed. If the troll wants more conversation go find that thread and have at it. OLD NEWS and nobody cares.

This has been a great weekend so far for Brad and the Jolie-Pitt fans. Brad’s movie is doing very well and of course the Meltdown that we were expecting is happening. Let’s talk about BO and WWz. Let’s talk about how great the film is doing. Let’s talk about the naysayers and all their predictions that have been proven WRONG. That is what it is all about.
My brother called and is at the theater to see WWZ 3D as I type. He said the lines were long and he was worried he wouldn’t get in for his show.. but made it. I told him to let me know ASAP what he thought. He is not a Zombie fan but heard it was good so was going to check it out.

Most of the time she looks like Brad to me, but I see a lot of Angie in her profile – and she’s a southpaw like Angie, which is makes me wonder about Viv & Knox. The source of the info is a lawsuit filed by Eunice Huthart, Angie’s friend and stunt double, against Newscorp for hacking her phone in 2004 and 2005 trying to get dirt on Brad and Angie. Here’s a link to one of the stories about it -

You know how the trolls are, GC – they see what they want to see even when what they’re reading tells me differently. At this point it’s not even a lack of reading comprehension – it a lack of reading, period. They don’t read the articles. The read the title, jumpt to conclusions and start celebrating because they think they’ve found the Holy Grail of “Brangelina” Dirt. 8 1/2 years. 8 and a half years. If nothing else the trolls and hens are dogged in their determination to ALWAYS be wrong. You’d think there was a large monetary prize for the person who can be the MOST wrong.

How can women be such traitors? Watching Brad’s movie after he trashed Jen. Whatever happened to the sisterhood? it’s a good thing Jen is living her life and doesn’t care what Pitt thinks.

Going to watch the Zombie movietomorrow with my hubby, cannot wait!
I read that it may turn into a franchise, with so many stories to tell.

WWZ – Thanks for bringing my comment from box over. I like that site but some posters were so caught up in what figures MOS would pull in for it’s second week that they were ignoring what is the real story of this weekend’s box office.
I truly do think Brad has achieved something major. Not only in almost singlehandedly turning the fortunes of the film around – but also in confirming his position as one of the few stars up there on the mount Olympus of Hollywood.
He and Angelina have ridden out the malice of the media and emerged triumphant. And the media knows it- hence the back peddling.

Hohoho, Brad makes good movies. Next is 12 Years a Slave.
Comparing these action and drama movies to moronic comedies, of course I will support Brad, besides, there was no cheating. They were separated for long periods. I would have crossed the ocean in a moment to be with a man like this.
Funny is that haters try to degrade him and paint him as a terrible man, and at the same time are crazily mad at him for separating from the Tick and pursuing a better future for him, andmleaving her to find a better man for her. Weird.

@Gold dust woman:

Great post & I agree!

actually as a Producer he has Kick Ass 2 in August. Then The Counselor in October then 12 Years a Slave in December (?)
