I’m in two minds, I LOVED Skyfall, but I loved Casino Royale better. Besides, Mendes is such a diva – first he said he was sick when he even thought of making another Bond and now he’s said to be back.
I’m glad to learn my “sunshine” is coming back soon as Bond though :) Well, maybe not that soon, but now I at least know how long it’s going to take.

  • BOND 24 NEWS

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, EON Productions; Gary Barber, Chairman & CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Entertainment, Inc, and Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Daniel Craig will once again return as the legendary British secret agent in the 24th James Bond film and Sam Mendes will also return to direct the screenplay written by John Logan. The film is set for release in the UK on October 23, 2015 and in the US on November 6, 2015.

SKYFALL the 23rd James Bond film, took in $1.1 billion worldwide and set a new mark as the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK; it was the best-selling Bond film on DVD/Blu-ray and was the most critically acclaimed film in the history of the longest-running film franchise.

Commenting on the announcement, Wilson and Broccoli said, “Following the extraordinary success of SKYFALL, we’re really excited to be working once again with Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and John Logan.”

“I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24. I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time,” said Mendes.

Barber added, “We are thrilled to reunite the extraordinary talents of director Sam Mendes with our star Daniel Craig for the next great Bond adventure.” He added, “As evidenced by the phenomenal success of our last collaboration with EON Productions and Sony, the incredible legacy of this 51-year-old franchise continues to amaze.”

Pascal and Lynton said, “It’s a privilege to work on the Bond films. EON, John Logan and Sam Mendes have come up with an extraordinary follow up to SKYFALL and we, along with our partners at MGM, can’t wait to share this new chapter with audiences all over the world.”

This makes me so happy! Hope Roger Deakins back.

Anyone could direct Bond! Just give Daniel a tight shirt & plenty of saucy action.. Instant hit. I’m getting all giddy just thinking about it, someone pass the smelling salts

  • Amy

@Magda: Agreed! Daniel as Bond in CR, he was cheeky so I fell in love with him too quickly. There were a lot of things about love and romance in it!

  • Jess

Great news: Our Hero is back. Daniel still is amazingly fit.
Bad news: It appears we will have to wait until 2015 for that.

  • Bianca

2 years is a long time to wait, but Daniel Bond’ll be worth waiting.

  • Elle

    Hi ladies!
There’s some bad news and good news.
My laptop battery is dead finally, but Daniel and Mendes finally return to theaters in 2015…. Already too excited!!

  • Alex

We knew Mendes couldn’t stay away….. How lucky he is to work with Daniel!!!!

  • Kate

This is what I’ve wanted to say! Hope Mendes knows what everyone wants.

I don’t think Sam is a diva. It was just after finishing Skyfall when he said he doesn’t want to make another Bond, that he felt pysically sick thinking about doing another one. Daniel said something very similar in the CR interview at Pinewood with Jonathan Ross. He said after the exhausting work for a Bond movie he doesn’t want to think of another movie set for a long time. It’s pretty natural those Bond movie take a very long time to be made and it’s exhausting and tiring.
At first I was not impressed with Mendes, but Skyfall was awesome and he took me over right at the beginning at the press conference. This guy is such a Bond lover and did a very good job.
I’d rather wait until 2015 than getting a rushed piece of work like Quantum, which I believe is still better than most of Brosnans Bond movies.

  • Magda

    @to Madga:

Ok, maybe I reacted too emotionally about Mendes :) I loved Skyfall anyway. I also liked Quantum a lot and to be honest I don’t understand the criticism towards it. It had a great opening sequence, great locations, an interesting story, the ecology thread was very modern and “up to date”, the humour., Daniel was awesome, there were some of the best fight scenes (the knife fight at the hotel – excellent). Maybe it was a bit too short and one can have reservations about the editing, but overall it was a very good Bond movie, better than Brosnan ones for sure.

I googled to see when the next Bond movie is coming out..was glad to see would be 2015 because I know the perfect next Bond girl…Cote de Pablo formally Ziva David of NCIS. She is a Latino gorgeous, sexy, wonderful actress from Chili. I have always pictured her in a Bond movie when I first saw her eight years ago. Whatever the producers gave her to do, she was terrific. She left the show this season after eight years. She can kick butt with the best of them. Perfect Bond girl. Please let her audition. Thank you for considering this.
