George Zimmerman: Not Guilty for Trayvon Martin Murder

A non-guilty verdict has been reached for George Zimmerman, who was tried for second degree murder and manslaughter for the death of Trayvon Martin.

The 29-year-old neighborhood watch coordinator for a gated community shot the 17-year-old teenager on February, 26, 2012 in Sanford, Fla, in what he claimed was self defense.

The murder trial began on June 10 and took around a month to reach a verdict.

“You have a little black boy who was killed,” Benjamin Crump, an attorney for the parents of Trayvon said in the courtroom during the trial. “It’s going to be reported in history books and 50 years from now, our children will talk about Trayvon Martin‘s case like we talk about Emmett Till.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of the final verdict in the Zimmerman-Martin case?

If Zimmerman is guilty, he is a freakin’ genius!
    1) He called 911 as he planned the murder of this young innocent. That’s a first! Pure genius!!
    2) Allowed him to break his nose and crack his skull before he shot him.
(A little risky on his part, but all a part of the master plan, right?)
    3) Rigged the situation where the only thing any eyewitness actually saw was him getting beaten within an inch of his life. (Don’t know HOW he pulled that one off.)

    The perfect crime! Genius………

I agree with you. I mean obviously he was guilty, there is not doubt he shot Trayvon, but the prosecution weren’t able to prove the self-defense theory wrong. Sadly, we live in a country were the justice system lets a criminal appeal a guilty verdict and doesn’t let the other party appeal a not guilty verdict which doesn’t make sense.

I will argue that his “injuries” are complete BS IMHO. I’m not a medical expert but I would think that one would pass out or have much deeper injuries when you’re head is being pounded against pavement.

I also think that we need to seriously stop making things a race issue. Let’s stop this oh you’re white americans are out to get me bc I’m black/hispanic poor me, let’s cut that **** out. I can honestly say that as a Honduran, I have never felt any racism from white americans in my 20 years (I’m 24) leaving in this country. If anything racism I’ve experienced or seen towards others come from Cubans and other hispanics.

“Jared, I cannot believe you quoted Benjamin Crump who should be ashamed of himself for his behavior during this case.”

ITA with this statement. Crump is ideliberately nciting for attention and comparing non-sequiturs…Martin was and is no Emmett Til. It’s an insult to what Emmett Til represents and endured to put Martin in the same sentence. It is “wrong” and inaccurate for an educated attorney like Crump to make such a foolish statement.

The terible thing about this is that if this kid (who is shown in photos throwing up gang signs) was not black, it NEVER would have gotten this much attention. We wern’t there, don’t know what happened, but if you’re a person of color the assumption is that the kid was an angel and cold blooded murdered. I’m glad you all have crystal balls or psychick powers and know what happened. If the kid was white, we would not have heard of this case. Wake up America and smell the reverse racism.
