J.K. Rowling Talks Robert Galbraith Pseudonym in Statement

J.K. Rowling has released a statement regarding her recent book “The Cuckoo’s Calling” that was released under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

“I hoped to keep this secret a little longer, because being Robert Galbraith has been such a liberating experience!” the 47-year-old author said. “It has been wonderful to publish without hype or expectation and pure pleasure to get feedback from publishers and readers under a different name.”

“The upside of being rumbled is that I can publicly thank my editor David Shelley, who has been a true partner in crime, all those people at Little, Brown who have been working so hard on ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ without realizing that I wrote it, and the writers and reviewers, both in the newspapers and online, who have been so generous to the novel,” she added. “And to those who have asked for a sequel, Robert fully intends to keep writing the series, although he will probably continue to turn down personal appearances.”

Why are UK covers always nicer than the American ones? Probably just a matter of opinion, I suppose. I like that cover shown with this article. Never mind, it’s the content that matters, blah blah blah. Never judge a book… etc etc etc.
Yeah, eagerly awaiting to get my hands on a copy as I fully intend to read every book Rowling writes.

So I guess she’s telling us now so fans of HP could go and buy the book thus preventing it from being a flop. Classy move!

Just shows people follow authors not good books. They didn’t rush out to buy this book when it wasn’t known that she had written it, now they are? I think the publisher leaked it to pick up sales.

She wrote the book under a pen name because many times when someone has a extremely successful series like her Harry Potter books, people are very critical when they do other genres. She wrote another book prior to this one under her own name and it didn’t so well. Then she went to a pen name because at heart she loves to write and doesn’t care if it’s a bestseller. She’s made and given away millions. Obviously her publishers do care about making money.

This book has been out since April and GABBY is just getting excited about it now that she knows who wrote it? I would bet any amount of money that if she’d read it not knowing who wrote it, she wouldn’t have liked it.
