Cory Monteith Cause of Death: Heroin & Alcohol

Cory Monteith‘s cause of death has reportedly been revealed as heroin and alcohol, according to TMZ.

The British Columbia Coroners Service have detailed the autopsy and toxicology report of the 31-year-old Glee star as having “mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol.”

Cory had struggled with drug use in the past, and checked himself into rehab earlier this year.

Cory tragically passed away over the weekend in Vancouver. He was found dead by hotel staff.

Our continued thoughts go out to Cory‘s family, friends, and Glee cast members.

too sad,R.I.P

# 2

He finally lost his battle against his demons… Thoughts to his familly and Lea, it will be a very difficult time for her

# 3

What a shame. Addiction is a terrible thing.

# 4

Why I don’t understand is why his friends didn’t stop him this Saturday horrible night?! They probably knew his problem of addiction, shame on them!!

# 5

Fu***ing drugs once again.

# 6

God, that’s really sad. Not particularly because he was famous, but because struggling with addiction is not easy, I have a friend who has been several times to rehab, but a few months later is back on drugs. Some part of them may want to recover, but not only their bodies are really hooked, their minds also.
May he rest in peace, and may God give his family the strength to go on through a situation such as this.

All this is so sad, another young life gone for drugs.

# 8

The person who needs to be outed is the one who first supplied him with heroin, and who continued to supply him. Nobody thinks they need heroin. Somebody hooks them. Whoever knows those names should publish them in the most public way possible. This is a terrible loss to his family and friends, and a terrible waste of life. for what? a temporary high that put money in a supplier’s pocket. Are the studios still supplying drugs? If so, that needs to be outed.

Too depressing and heart-breaking. Addiction is a powerful thing. RIP Cory, you’re now singing with the angels.

How/Why was he alone while doing such heavy stuff? Who sold it to him?

@fifi: you can’t blame them if he acted normal that night, as he did all week and so on, i feel bad for his parents and loved once, shame on him for leaving his moma and Lea.

@ali: Lea supplied it. She keeps saying he was happy, but we all know happy people don’t do drugs. He went to rehab, how could she not know, she said she was in the dark. Maybe you didn’t know every moment he did drugs, but she knew he was doing it. Enabler.

don´t start making up rumors about his death when the new say : Conclusive results will not be known until the toxicology report is returned, which may take several weeks

@Eva: i mean News not new :/

I associate heroine with hardcore drug use and Cory didn’t look like he had any physical manifestations of heroine use. He didn’t look like he was on the edge whatsoever.

I see drug addicts (I think meth heads) and they are in HORRIBLE shape and curiously, they are still alive after all these years.

@barron797: if you look recent pictures of him, he has lost a lot of weight

Hate to Admit It But @ 07/16/2013 at 5:24 pm

no one made him take the drugs or drink – not his friends, not the bartender or the drug dealer. sad but true. an unfortunate result to bad decisions and poor choices.

Well, we knew it was going to be due to drugs, but heroin??? Wow.

I remember a time when Robert Downey Jr was busted for heroin and struggled with addiction for a very long time. MANY people tried to help and he was not only in rehab but jail for his addictions. Only the addict can turn his life around. To say it was Lea’s or anyone elses fault is moronic. He did it because he couldn’t help himself. He was an addict, God bless him.

@Eva: The coroner’s report may not be officially out. This may be the first part of it, but TMZ wouldn’t just throw this out there. They have reliable sources. If this is the first thing that came back from the test results, then chances are this is what he died from. It’s not a rumor.

River Phoenix.. Cocaine, Valium and heroin.
Heath Ledger..OxyContin, Valium, Xanax, Restoril, Unisom and Vicodin
Brittney Murphy.. pneumonia and multiple drug intoxication
Cory Monteith.. Heroin and alcohol

These people are the new anti drug poster children. Hopefully more effective then any after school special of my childhood.

Simple.. it doesn’t matter how successful you are, how loved, how much money you have, how famous you are, how many awards you have, how many people follow you on twitter.. DO NOT DO DRUGS or that next hit, snort, toke, needle.. may be the last thing you ever do on this Earth.

It is si sad to die form something as stupid as a fake feeling provided by poison you put into your body. I wish we could take them all back and all the un-famous people that die from drugs every day.

heroin eh…? well its clear that he didnt get the help he needed then… why was she on vacation alone…?

@doll:

Lea was not an enabler. Reports are that he was on the straight and narrow- a hard and responsible worker in LA. But, when he was back in Vancouver with his old friends, his old habits were harder to fight. But, he was always trying very hard. He wasn’t constantly using and living a double life; he was very open to friends and coworkers about his struggles.

@doll:

It was his attention-seeking ex girlfriend who said she was in the dark. Don’t be an idiot.

I’m shocked, I dont know why I didn’t consider heroin being a possibility but it’s such a hard drug. People see what they want to see or what is shown to them and unless you actually know these people it’s very hard to understand whats happening behind closed doors. I am angry at his friends too because without them he would have found it much less of a temptation I’m sure but It could have happened anywhere at anytime. An addict is an addict and unfortunately it doesn’t have a preference on who it takes.
