Emmy Nominations 2013 Announced!

The nominations for the 2013 Emmy Awards are finally here!

Early this morning, Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul was set to join Kate Mara to announce all of the nominees at the Leonard H. Goldenson theater in North Hollywood, however, late last night, she had airplane trouble and could not make the ceremony. Host of this year’s ceremony Neil Patrick Harris filled in for the announcement.

Hit Netflix series House of Cards made history as the first Best Drama nominee to be aired online and not on television. The series received a total of nine nominations.

American Horror Story: Asylum received the most nominations with a total of seventeen. Game of Thrones followed closely behind with sixteen.

    Sean Says:

Wow did anyone who picks these watch ep 9 of Game of Thrones Season 3? Michelle Fairley definitely deserves a nomination for her performance throughout the series but especially on that episode alone. Rude.

  3. 3
    Rose Says:

No nods for The Walking Dead ugh. Their performance was brilliant tbqh.

Same tired list every year for many shows virtually no one watches nor cares about.

    sarah Says:

@Rose: I completely agree with you. The Walking Dead is a GREAT show with outstanding actors and fantastic storylines.

  7. 7
    Jude Says:

    Hello? Dexter?

    nm Says:

I love Peter Dinklage but season 3 was Nikolaj’s season..And no Fairley? Not to mention the complet Walking Dead AND Hannibal snub..Where’s Lincoln, Dancy and Mikkelsen??And there should be more nomintations for Arrested Development. But no, nowadays it’s all about Homeland, Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Don’t get me wrong, great shows, but seriously there are other shows as well.

    And I forgot. Where’s Jennifer Caprenter’s nomination?She was thrilling in Dexter’s season 7.

    aquarius64 Says:

Congrats to Kerry Washington for Scandal. Expected more nods for Game of Thrones this year, but congrats to Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and Diana Rigg. Kaley Cuolo snubbed for Big Bang Theory? I guess she’s paying for her showmance with Henry Cavill. Congrats to Mayim Bialik.

    Mike Says:

@Sean Oh my god you my friend are so right, even know i’m happy with Emilia Clarke nom, but Michelle Fairley just need the final minutes of episode 9 to get a nom.

I think it was pretty disappointing this year nomination, I mean no Sofia Vergara, no Eric Stonestreet, no Melissa McCarthy for Mike and Molly

  12. 12
    Maryhadalittlelamb Says:

Where is the nomination for Parenthood’s Monica Potter? Also Lennie James (Morgan) for Walking Dead? He was incredible in that one episode last season. I also agree Michelle Fairley was robbed, Emilie Clarke’s performance doesn’t come close to hers IMO and she was nominated.

  13. 13
    Alliana Says:

What? No True Blood?! No Vampire Diaries?! LOL-no eye candy this year.

  14. 14
    Hester Says:

Where is The Mindy Project?! It’s been amazing.

And definitely Nikolaj for Game of Thrones.

    laura Says:

Not one thing for Justified ?!

  16. 16
    Sarah Says:

    YAY!!! FOR KERRY!

  17. 17
    Sean Says:

    @Maryhadalittlelamb:
Yeah I love Emilia she was great this season but in no comparison to Michelle. I was maybe pushing it if Richard Madden got a nom but I really thought Michelle would.

  18. 18
    Suri the meal ticket Says:

How can they leave out KHo again? KHo is robbed!

  19. 19
    LIL Says:

Claire Danes? Really? Again? Can’t stand her hysterical, annoying acting :/ I know more talented actresses, who’s never get any nomination and she’s promoted every year. Still don’t understand why :/

  20. 20
    muna Says:

    Where is walking dead….so annoying

  21. 21
    Kate Says:

No Kate Mara for House of Cards?! I’m so shocked. She’s INCREDIBLE as Zoe. Other than that, I’m happy Robin Wright & Kevin Spacey didn’t get snubbed.

  22. 22
    Kate Says:

Oh, and no Lily Rabe for American Horror Story?!?! :-(

  23. 23
    Lily Says:

    @laura:
    I know right…

  24. 24
    Mike Says:

I complained before because Sofia Vergara wasn’t nominated, but according to IMDB she’s nominated, Eric was the only one to not be nominated

  25. 25
    I wanna play too! Says:

Left a lot of great ones out this year.
