Kidd Kraddick Dead at 53 - Radio Host Dies of Cardiac Disease

UPDATE: The official cause of death has been determined to be cardiac disease.

Radio host Kidd Kraddick has tragically passed away at the age of 53 due to a reported brain aneurysm.

The official cause of death has not been revealed, but many reports are citing the aneurysm at this time.

“All of us with YEA Networks and the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning crew are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and leader. Kidd devoted his life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children,” his radio station said in a statement.

Kidd passed away today in New Orleans at a golf tournament organized to raise money for his beloved Kidd’s Kids charity. He died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him,” the statement continued. “We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and his colleagues. At the appropriate time, we will release more information about the cause of death.”

Many celebrities, including the Jonas Brothers and entrepreneur Mark Cuban, have already expressed their sympathies on Twitter. We send out our condolences to Kidd‘s family and friends during this difficult time.

This very sad to hear. I don’t listen to 106.1 in Dallas anymore but years ago I was a faithful listener. I use to couldn’t start my day w/o Kidd, Kelly and Al. I know the last two are very hurt because they have been with Kidd forever. For Kelly and Al it’s like loosing a family member.

God bless them all and I pray for comfort fof Kidd’s family and friends.

Ashes to Ashes, Dust To Dust. We’re all just dead and forgotten in the end. Everyone will remember for a bit but life goes on for the living. Be well.

My AM drive to work will never be the same! I so much loved his humor and sincere love for children. I hope his co-workers get a chance to keep the show going and keep his memory alive. SO SO SAD :(

Dish Nation won’t be the same without you KIDD RIP!

So sad he did so young!

This is absolutely terrible and he will be greatly missed. The only way I get my day going is by listening to Kidd Kraddick in the morning and laughing so hard at them. You will be missed RIP Kidd!!

I am so sad..what a great loss,KIDD we are going to miss you so much.

Now he can’t steal his bits from Russ.

This goes to show you life is short but sweet for certain. I grew up with my mother in radio all my life and she hosted the morning show on a country station while kidd and the others hosted the pop station in the same building. They actually were competitive with one another, but great friends. I have met him several times, and he was a great man. Our community, here in Meridian, MS is definitely going to miss him.

Kidd Kraddick believed in living life to the fullest, making a difference in the lives of others and leaving the world a better place than it was. My life has truly been touched by the difference he made.
