'The Wolverine' Wins This Weekend's Box Office!

Hugh Jackman‘s latest flick The Wolverine takes this weekend’s box office with a debut gross of $55 million!

According to THR, the X-Men spinoff fell a little under expected numbers, but is doing especially well overseas.

Coming in at number two, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson‘s super scary flick The Conjuring brought in an additional $22 million in its second week of release.

The animated sequel Despicable Me 2 took third place with $16 million.

Rounding out the top five were Ryan Reynold‘s animated flick Turbo and the Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups 2, which brought in $13 million and $11 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, a number of films did well at the speciality box office! Woody Allen‘s Blue Jasmine earned about $550,000 in only six theaters. Michael B. Jordan‘s Sundance favorite Fruitvale Station impressed, grossing $4.6 million for the weekend, while the indie coming-of-age dramedy The Way, Way Back took in $3.4 million.

WHAT DID YOU SEE at the movies this weekend???

I am glad Fruitville Station is doing well.

@Sayer: Me too! To do list didn’t do too well at all. Which people in it didn’t promote it well like they should have done. No one under 17 couldn’t see it at all. And tv couldn’t show the trailer until late at night.

    Wolverine was a HOT MESS!
