Lea Michele: 'Cory Monteith Will Forever Be in My Heart'

Lea Michele has spoken out for the first time since the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith.

“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart,” the 26-year-old actress tweeted on Monday (July 29), two and a half weeks after his death.

Last week, she and Ryan Murphy held a memorial service to celebrate his life along with the cast and crew of Glee.

We continue to send Lea our support throughout this difficult time.

# 2

That was really bittersweet but I hope she is feeling better and I like the way she is handling this situation with so much class and privacy.

# 3

It is hard for her to say that!

# 4

I miss you, Cory! I love you….. <3

# 5

Love u Lea, stay strong!

Love you Lea! I’ll continue to pray for you and Cory. I’ll support you forever. Stay strong.

@Oh: Can´t help yourself, can you? There is always some idiot.
Stay strong Lea. They say that time is the best doctor.

@Oh: That’s really unfortunate that you had to say that. He went to rehab, he tried his best. Addiction is a very hard thing. It’s no longer a choice; you don’t shoot up for fun. Your ignorance and lack of education shines through your comment. Grieving and death is not a game, it’s not hollywood. Cory isn’t here anymore. Lea, his friends and family and fans are going through a hard time and you should respect that.

@Kate: Sorry, but I am not an idiot. I would have waited for months before speaking.

All this is so sad. I was shocked when I knew about it so I can’t imagine Lea, poor thing.

@Oh: But you are not Lea and she is not you. Lea is famous and so people expect her to speak about the loss of her boyfriend. It’s one tweet, so what? Maybe she just wants people to know she is okay. Btw, you cannot speak for Cory so you cannot assume that he didn’t love Lea as much as she loved him.

how about we feel bad for his family first…his parents had to bury their child. let that sink in.

She’ll be dating in no time…next. Lets move on people, he wasn’t some icon…

Lea, I know you will grow from this and your talent will burn even brighter because you have felt this tremendous pain and been able to overcome it.

he may not have been an icon, but any person with a heart would mourn the death of another human being.

cheers to your life spent in the comments’ section and the zero people that will attend your funeral.

@becky: who isn’t feeling bad for his family? Most people are capable of feeling bad and for any people at a time.

I feel sorry for his family but he was a drug user. we should be focusing on drug prevention not lea michele.

RIP Cory. That’s all I can say

We mourn the loss of Cory but Leah stay strong you will grow from this…
