Jessica Simpson's 'Fashion Star' Cancelled by NBC

Jessica Simpson‘s short lived reality competition series Fashion Star has been cancelled by NBC, according to EW.

The series suffered after original host Elle Macpherson left the show after the first season. Jessica, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos were judges, and joined by Louise Roe as host for the second season.

For its second season finale, the show only mustered 2.5 million viewers.

    Aw man. I did like this show! For a Friday fluff piece, I liked it – and the whole “buy the look now” concept. Boo. I thought it was just getting to the proper footing.

    pity. this was a reality show with a point. did not go by who was the most popular but real buyers from real stores. too bad.
