'2 Guns' Tops This Weekend's Box Office!

Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington‘s brand new action flick 2 Guns has won this weekend’s box office with a $27.4 million opening, according to THR.

Coming in at number two, Hugh Jackman‘s The Wolverine stayed strong with an additional $21.7 million this weekend, bringing its overall worldwide total to $255.2 million.

Smurfs 2, starring the voices of Neil Patrick Harris and Katy Perry, took third place with $18.2 million, compared to the $35.6 million opening of the original film in July 2011.

Rounding out the top five were Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson‘s horror flick The Conjuring and the animated sequel Despicable Me 2, which brought in $13.7 million and $10.4 million, respectively.

At the specialty box office, Lindsay Lohan‘s erotic thriller The Canyons only grossed $15,200 at one theater in New York City.

Meanwhile, Woody Allen‘s Blue Jasmine impressed with $1.9 million in about 50 theaters.

The film adaption of The Spectacular Now, starring Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley, averaged about $50,000 in four locations.

I saw The Canyons, yes I did! ) The movie is pretty bad, besides you can see James Deen’s **** for free – you know what I mean? Linds however is not that bad – even though she’s wearing really ugly underwear in this movie.

I have not seen a movie in about a year, since I am totally sick of sequels and remakes. Plus as a senior on a fixed income I have to be a little more choosy now than when I went to at least one movie per week.
