Olivier Martinez Buys Two Baguettes in One Week

Olivier Martinez Buys Two Baguettes in One Week

Olivier Martinez carries a big baguette out of Bristol Farms after doing some grocery shopping on Thursday (August 8) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 47-year-old actor was spotted earlier this week stocking up on more groceries, including another baguette!

Baguettes are commonly consumed in France, which happens to be where Olivier is from. Interestingly, the French recently started a campaign to get people to buy more bread as sales have been declining with the rate of obesity rising.

Olivier‘s wife Halle Berry has a birthday coming up! On Wednesday (August 14), Halle will turn 47-years-old. Happy early birthday, Halle!

In France, people buy fresh baguettes daily… why? Because in France, they don’t load their bread up with artificial preservatives the way we do in the USA. If Olivier is buying his bread at a bakery in LA instead of the supermarket, even in the USA, it’s probably preservative free too.

And yes, the French eat carbs… and are still thinner than Americans. What they don’t usually eat is junk food the way we do.

@mimi: Thank you mimi for saying every word I was going to. If anything, this amount is just a half days portion for a family of 3-4! Real French baguette has all of 4 ingredients; flour water salt and a riser. And don’t forget, they walk most places, eat hardly any processed foods, shop daily for their meals, eat smaller portions and earlier and take longer to enjoy the meal. NYC only place I know like this too. Eat bread, walk it off lol.

I know this is a gossip site, but how is buying bread news?

    Veep Says:

The french buy their bread fresh every day baguettes – made from refined white flour – deflate quickly. Baguette lack nutritional content anyway; buy organic and wholemeal and freeze it and toast it for best results. Speculation: the rising obesity rate is due to lfiestyle, not lack of baguette consumption.

Olivier looking good as always. Well you can take the man out of France but you can’t take the french out of him. It’s cool that the french refuse to eat old food, they have a pretty healthy diet and this explains why he can stay so lean and tone, but consume carbs everyday. Can’t wait to see him in movie The Physician, this winter he’s a good actor.

    Shelbethegreat Says:

@Love the shoes, I agree with you an @Mimi the french know how to eat and remain healthy. The food industry in this country supersizes everything to sell more product. A Big Mac is now twice the size it was when I was growing up, no wonder American’s have a weight problem. It’s the fault of the food industry with it’s lousy processed food, putting temptations to eat 24/7 every bloody place we look. The food industry has brain washed us to eat too much. We should eat fresh, food and if possible none processed. I’ll bet that Olivier buys those particular Baguettes because they are baked fresh at Bristol Farms.

    where's the brie???? Says:

A French man buying a baguette of French 2x /week—now if he bought brie etc to go with it—then it would be newsworthy

Yeh, but how many bottles of booze did he get in his paper bag this week? lol. Clear bag – baguettes. Paper bag – his booze!

    msirene Says:

Is it just me, but it appears that Mr. Martinez seems to look absolutely miserable in most of his pics, lately.. I wonder why. It would seem that with a new baby coming, and being a first time father, he would appear to be happier than he is. I don’t understand this. And I can say the same for Ms. Berry as well. Seems that since the marriage, they both look miserable. Has any one else noticed this?

    no irene Says:

@msirene: no, it’s no just you…one would think they both would ecstatic regardless of the pappis (normal for her/them) and her a few months away from her due date.
