They are both wonderful. So I am not sure why one would be excited that Marion Cotillard replaced Natalie Portman in this role. Marion might be a bit of a better actress then Natalie. But who cares this film will only fine a small audience anyway,

@dddff: Probably because Natalie is not that great, and her playing the scheming, manipulative Lady MacBeth would’ve been laughable. She can only do Black Swan type roles.

Huge upgrade in my opinion. Not enamored with Natalie Portman’s acting in the least.

YES WE ARE! Marion is super talented, super beautiful and super nice person. I just love her. So, yes, I am very excited and I can’t wait to see her in this movie with Michael Fassbender!

They wised up and realized Natalie Portman is majorly overrated. Not much of a Cotillard fan, but anyone but NP will do.

LOL! Portman really wants to be Keira so bad. She needed a good period piece under her belt, other than being the other boleyn girl

Great news!

betting Portman is pregnant!

Portman is busy doing Thor 3.

@Mary . I completely concur . Most of today’s young A-list movie stars are not classically trained , and I can always notice their acting weaknesses . I see it in Portman , Jennifer Lawrence , Ashton Kutcher , Scarlett Johansson , Brad Pitt , the wooden Channing Tatum , etc….

I saw a live production of Henry V with Jude Law , and he was marvelous ( he is a very underrated actor ) . Also, I saw a live production of Shakespeare In The Park’s Twelfth Night with Anne Hathaway and Hamish Linklater , and they both were very good .

@Rachel:Why was little whiney jewish girl cast in this role to begin with?

@Rachel. Stop making excuses. Thor 3 is not filming. They just finished Thor 2 .

So great! Marion, love u!

Ouch. I hope they will also apply this rule as it comes to the upcoming Marvel movies.

Much better choice. Portman is too young, and her voice is undeveloped. Cotillard has more range.

@alaia:

That is a really unfair comment. Natalie has given some amazing performances throughout the years and is an excellent actress.

Obviously Marion is very talented though I have seen her give some rather mediocre performances. Hopefully she will be an excellent Lady Macbeth, especially because she is much older. Natalie looks far too young for the part.

@Bebe:

Why don’t you wash your mouth out with soap, you disgusting racist!

@Everhart:

“Be Keira” – nice one. Especially since Portman has about 100% more talent than Keira who can only give one performance which is constantly repeated from film to film.

@Seraphine:

How do you know she is so nice? Yes, she is an amazing actress but she has made some very anti-American comments on various occasions. Lucky she has such good PR people to cover up her political opinions.

@Ruth . I always see Natalie Portman acting . Great acting is never seeing the thespian act . It has to always feel real . That is why training is important .

“That play”, JJ, “that play”. The name is never spoken in theatre circles.

SunnyAutumn @ 08/21/2013 at 12:36 pm

She should’ve been the first choice. Marion looks the part.

Marion is so much prettier and more talented than that ugly Jew. Truth is, the only reason Portman is famous is because she’s Jewish. Those people disgust me.
