Lily Collins & Jonathan Rhys-Meyers: 'City of Bones' Norway Premiere!

Lily Collins is stunningly sheer while attending the premiere of her latest film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones on Friday (August 23) in Fredrikstad, Norway.

The 24-year-old English actress was joined by co-stars Jamie Campbell Bower, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and Robert Sheehan, who were all seen pushing their hand prints into fresh concrete outside the cinema.

Earlier in the day, Lily and Jamie posed together while promoting the flick, which released on the same day, at a photo call.

FYI: Lily is wearing a Zuhair Murad dress and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Best JRM has looked in years. I hope this means he’s gotten sober!

# 2

when are they going to stooooopppp promoting this flop? i’m sick of seeing pix of them every day.

# 3

Why are they promoting this movie all around the world like it’s some HUGE blockbuster film? Where did they get all the money? They’re going to regret it when they see the Box Office numbers. $3 million on Friday? Geez. They’ll be lucky if they crack $10 million this weekend. I can’t believe they greenlit a sequel w/o waiting.

The movie was excellent. I hope they make the sequels.

# 5

Since the movie is bombing at the box office, I wonder if they can still cancel the production of the sequel, I heard filming starts next month?

@Tara: TMI is projecting to do $13.7 this weekend. For a 5-day haul it’s a bomb. Critics have tagged it as a Twilight knock off, which may be why people are staying home or checking out the other movies at the multiplex. I don’t see a sequel coming; and studios should wait for final numbers during a movie’s run before green-lighting and announcing a sequel.

@aquarius64: It was projected to do 13 million this weekend but based on Friday’s numbers, it’ll be around 8-9 million which is a huge disappointment. Sad in a way b/c it’s a better movie and book than Twilight. It costs $60 million to make and don’t they usually have to double that ($120 million) to break even? Eeks

Can this franchise disappear already, tired of seeing these bombs

# 9

I wonder if Jonathan and Jamie f*cked

this movie looked bad according to the ads and seems to be doing terrible. however they are really trying to market the heck outta it

@aquarius64: and the hunger games was a battle royale rip off yet it still did well even though to me the film was pretty boring and predictable

aquarius64 @ 08/24/2013 at 4:22 pm

@Tara: That sounds about right because the movie has to make back the marketing costs as well as the production costs. @talia – HG didn’t have any elements of Twilight in it; that’s why it did very well IMO.

Are they still trying to make Lily Collins happen?

call the bomb squad

Floppity, Flop, Flop, Flop. Lily Collins is not a movie star.

How many freakin’ countries are these guys promoting in?
If a film needs *this* much promotion, it can’t be any good.

@Verity: This is true. This is the third movie where she was the lead actress that tanked. Abduction & Mirror Mirror was before this. It shows despite her father’s name and her mother’s connections she can’t deliver the box office goods. I can see why the nepotism meme is alive..

Give it a chance People! You’re so MEAN with your comments! Why do you have to trash this article that way? Go see the movie instead. Maybe it will bring a smile to your sad lives!

Thanks for the Pictures of Lily.

Am I the only one who feels like its super embarrassing promoting a movie thats doing so bad?? Sure this series has a fan base and sure the book sales did well. But that doesnt guarantee a movie hit.

@B: because it sucks? the author sucks, the movie sucks and the actors suck? I find it hilarious that it’s bombing so badly, Jamie and Lily even tried to fake date for a while there, but even that couldn’t save this trash

JRM IS SO HOT ALWAYS.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is definitely a sober stud!!! looking so great since his Mission Impossible 3 and The Tudors days!!! Lily Collins looks great in Zuhair Murad, but needs sleeker hairstyle and she need to ditch the boring shoe for some sexy sandals!! Why they don’t have the movie premiere in London?? We have 3 British here!!! Hope they can return to London and have the last premiere there!! Great movie though!!

@Joanne. It isn’t a trash. The movie itself is quite dark and the actors were amazing in their roles, all of them. Just because it doesn’t meet your filmic criteria, that doesn’t turn it authomatically into something bad. Sad that people can’t see past their predjudices and appreciate CoB for what it is, a different film targeted for YA books readers who want more than just romance.

@B: no, it’s trash. Film critics gave it a 13% and that was rightly deserved. The actors also suck.
