'The Butler' Tops Box Office for Second Consecutive Week
Lee Daniels‘ The Butler, starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, has topped its second weekend box office with $17 million!
According to THR, coming in at No. 2 was the Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis-led comedy We’re the Millers, which also stayed strong with $13.2 million.
Third place went to The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, starring Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower, which brought in $9.3 million for the weekend and $14 million total for its opening five days.
Rounding out the top five were The World’s End and Planes, which earned $8.9 million and $8.5 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Matt Damon‘s latest film Elysium brought in an additional $7.1 million, while Woody Allen‘s Blue Jasmine opened up to 1,200 theaters and grossed $4.3 million.
