Dr. Luke Not Joining 'American Idol' as a Judge

Contrary to reports, Dr. Luke will not be joining the American Idol judging panel for this upcoming season, according to THR.

The 39-year-old music producer, whose full name is Lukasz Gottwald, “wants to build an entertainment company” with his own label, and after much talking between all parties, decided it “was the best thing for all parties.”

Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban are currently on the panel for next year’s season. Randy Jackson is currently in negotiations to return to the show as a mentor.
