Miley Cyrus' First Interview Since VMAs: We Knew We Were Making History

Miley Cyrus has opened up and given her first interview since her controversial performances at the 2013 MTV VMAs last week.

“Me and Robin [Thicke,] the whole time said, ‘You know we’re about to make history right now,’” the 20-year-old entertainer said during her interview with MTV.

“What’s amazing is I think now, we’re three days later and people are still talking about it. They’re over thinking it,” Miley said at the time of the interview. “You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn’t even think about it ’cause that’s just me.”

“I don’t pay attention to the negative because I’ve seen this play out so many times,” Miley added, “How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?”

Madonna‘s done it. Britney‘s done it. Every VMA performance, that’s what you’re looking for; you’re wanting to make history,” she concluded.

Let’s think of things we can shove in Mileys mouth. A cork? Stuffed toy? A bar of soap? A friggin 2×4?

I think people that say Madonna was so great should go back and look at her performance of Like a Virgin at the VMAs on youtube. Her singing wasn’t all that and Madonna wasn’t that great a singer or dancer ever. Madonna was a big show off, liked to shock, like to shed her clothes, liked to provoke, and wasn’t ever any great talent. Britney wasn’t any great talent either, just a good performer if you choreograph her well. Miley has a strong, distinctive voice when she feels like using it. She’s a bad dancer but she’s the only one out of the three that could sing well with simple guitar or piano accompaniment. Miley made history in the sense that the buzz she created was similar to what Madonna or Britney brought. That’s all.

I feel sorry for her, even her friends are starting to say WTF. She’s getting the attention, but after you’ve done so many outrageous things, it just becomes boring. She’ll burn out too quickly and that will be a pity because I do think she has talent and it shows when she sings the right songs for her voice.. It’s not the 90′s, it’s a time when people see someone like Ga Ga, I refused to call her Lady, go out in public virtually naked. After you practically stick your a$$ in your daddy’s face while dancing ( it was really too awkward to be called that), I don’t know if you can go much lower.
I hope she doesn’t end up getting shattered.

The problem is you are not even worth it Miley. Madonna, Britney or Gaga are legends of their own. But you? You can’t prove to be one of them… so stop it already. The more you wanted to be part of a history like them… the more you are becoming trashy.

    D Says:

DO NOT compare yourself to Madonna & Britney, you are nowhere near them! Not even close. Their performances were shocking but epic. Yours was just trashy and gross, nothing hot about it! Britney and Madonna, at least have something for people to talk about — a butt and boobs!

Just go hide for a while and come back later, it’ll be fine!

    Albus Says:

Come on people, whether you like it or not, you know she’s telling the truth. No one’s talking about Lady Gaga’s performance, or Katy Perry’s first live performance of Roar, or Justin Timberlake who was the big winner that night, that 2 second- NSync reunion, etc etc etc. No one is talking about that! ALL headlines were about Miley Cyrus and that dumbass performance lol.

I don’t like Miley, but you gotta admit that that piece of crap did make history cause it’s the only thing that stood out over everything else in all news, tv and social networks.

I get it. She’s high as a kite.

Is she taking a P.iss? History? This girl needs help…

    sluuuuuutttt Says:

You definitely made history by being slutttiest star to have been produced by Disney. Way to go!!!

    mjundt Says:

Make history? WWII vets stopping Hitler, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, nuclear bomb drop on Hiroshima/Nagasaki, Dr. Barnard’s first heart transplant, Dr. Fleming’s first penicillin — just a few examples of people making history. Miley just showed her ass on stage for a buck — something that’s been happening since the beginning of ‘history’.

    Sincerely concerned Says:

Liam needs to turn and walk away.

    jeannifer Says:

i think this girl never learn what the real meaning of history. I feel sorry for you girl, but seriously… your performance in the VMA was a crap, totally crap. period!

  13. 88
    yuck Says:

yea. making history. making history of the worst god awful performance of all time!

    MrsFudd Says:

This wasn’t history making, it was a pathetic cry for attention and notoriety. Sorry, Miley, but your actions were pitiful and wretched. Your actions will brand you forever as a *****.

    Claire Says:

The difference, in my opinion, is that Britney and Madonna never came off as doing something scandalous for scandal’s sake. Their performances always seemed to be for entertainment purposes. The kiss was interpreted as pro-LGBT. Obviously we don’t truly know what any of their goals were, but Miley’s performance seemed to push boundaries for the sake of personal publicity; so although she is quick to equate herself with Britney and Madonna, I am certainly not as willing.

    Jamie Says:

“I didn’t even think about it.” That’s clear, Miley. Hoping you find out who you are before you destroy yourself.

  17. 92
    meme Says:

She is leaving a mark in history… the history of dumbest and grossest people ever!

  18. 93
    Blu Says:

This was suppose to be about Music . . .

  19. 94
    angie Says:

if they made history the way SHE thinks they made history, they would be talking about robin thicke as well. she did indeed make history, but not in a good way. shes an annoying very immature girl and needs to work at growing up before shaking her **** and therefore pretending shes grown up. she will never be of the same magnitude as people that have shocked audiences in the past, twerking like a twat wont achieve that.

  20. 95
    HC Says:

Britney looked a million bucks at the 2000 show for her big striptease reveal. Miley looked like a mental institution patient at a football game. If you want to see an icon on the MTV VMA stage look no further than Michael Jackson in 1995. He dances and sings and outdoes all around him vying for attention by getting naked or being morons.

    Lucy Says:

yeah i think u didn`t think about miley i love u but it was Ewww

  22. 97
    classless wonder Says:

The next time she opens her mouth to stick out her tongue, can someone please shove a pair a socks into it? She looks like she’s trying to catch flies.

  23. 98
    phatarmywife Says:

OMG Miley honey, really… you are so out of touch with reality. You need to clean yourself up and figure yourself out before you end up in the same boat as Lindsey Lohan. You are a train wreck sweetie and NOT entertaining in the slightest. You have the opportunity of a lifetime to do something good and positive and make a difference and this is what you choose for yourself? Wow many of us wish we had been able to have what you have and are wasting.

    @So what: You’re so right!

    Voodah Says:

Clearly she’s embarrassed by it despite saying otherwise in the video. i keep getting her confused with Justin Beiber now. Who’s who? it’s all a familiar slippery slope.

Anyhow I’m sure Robin Thicke is writhing in horror as well> talk about the irony of Blurred Lines having attempted to debut the hit single only to have it upstaged by little miss Twerky Twerk.
