Cameron Diaz Shows Off New York City Apartment to 'Elle Decor'

Cameron Diaz and her designer Kelly Wearstler pose inside her completely redone New York City West Village apartment in the October 2013 issue of Elle Decor, on newsstands September 10.

Here’s what the 41-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On her design loves: “I blame my love of sparkly, shiny things on my Cuban roots.”

On working with Kelly: “I’m really going to miss those four-hour-long meetings with Kelly. I got to look at, touch, and talk about beautiful things.”

On her new home: “I’m surrounded by things that mean something to me. That’s what a home is.”

From someone who knows about design, and btw is a big Diaz fan, i have to say this is awful. It looks like an old couples 1980′s vegas apartment. From all the gold paired with pastels?, to the heavy clumsy furniture with no design to them whatsoever. 20 mil a movie should by her something that at least match together.

This is drop dead ugly. This confirms it. People who have money can be easily duped into anything and they blindly go along with someone else’s horrible taste. I’m not suggesting she needs to shop at IKEA but that would be an improvement over these rooms. Clunky gaudy and dated. LOL.

I really like the decor, although it does have a bit of an 80s vibe which I would normally find repelling. I do like the pastels though… I’m guessing that maybe it doesn’t photograph nicely, perhaps it’s nicer in person.

No.3; Some day you will come to understand why Camy’s shag pad looks like the tacky interior of my BYU Italian professor, Filipo Spartano, via the University of Montana, circa 1976. Who always gave me straight As for being the smartest one in the room.

horrible taste or bad interior designer or she just buy it as it is .

yuck, very boring.

I love the living area….especially the yellow chair. Her bedroom is awesome! Happy for Cam.

This is a first: it’s the decorator that needs to lay off the plastic surgery. She looks like a mannequin in Century 21.

It´s a nice apartment, yep !
But Cam, HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS LOVED AND WHERE IT CAN GIVE LOVE.
And only persons can be loved, not things. You can LIKE things, but you can´t LOVE them. Only persons can be loved. Don´t forget that, Cam !

she has done fabulously with the appartment I must admit, there would be a dozen features such as the ‘top pink’ lounge (the coffee table is chunky, makes me think of making a table tennis table out of recyled railway sleepers).
an enlightening bathroom (in a relaxing way) with an octagonal sink basin (is that enamelled?), the other shower room’s tiles looks like a bottle of magnum was opened to add some glitz.
the bedroom allows a whole orchestra of light to ease through.
I s’pose one would wear blue or bright colors to contrast with the spacely designs (maybe they should make 12 tooth sprocket analogue clocks as well, with glowing numbers- digital wall clocks are meant for the train station).
well done cami and kelly, my congratulations.

@blinky:
Yep, it´s a fine appartment !

I would like to ask for you to pardon me as I am picky and somewhat negative and regret that I’m a newchum.
you should have picked up the word ‘of ‘ was used too much by me, I guess women notice that more.
another view point could be the lounge has a champagne and flow on effect.
gold and black are not seen much since unlit road markings became white and black, it’s a pity as gold and black helped motorists stay awake at night.
and I suppose that the bathroom could be a mint julep icecream, and a bedroom in a swathe of sunshine bands.
viva las vegas.

Yep, yellow road markings on unlit roads were the best !
