Leonardo DiCaprio Covers 'New York' Mag's Fall Preview Issue

Leonardo DiCaprio is featured on the cover of New York Magazine‘s Fall Preview issue, on newsstands now.

Here is what the 38-year-old actor had to share with the mag:

On making Wolf of Wall Street with Martin Scorsese: “I told Marty, ‘I don’t think we’ll be able to do a movie like this too many times in the future. Larger-scale, R-rated dramas, like Blood Diamond or The Departed, don’t really get financed anymore.”

On his real-life character Jordan Belfort: “There was nothing Jordan wouldn’t divulge, no matter how intimate or embarrassing. That was the attraction for Marty as well—it’s the kind of brutal honesty that got Marty into making movies like Mean Streets.”

On researching the role: “I wanted a close relationship with him so that I could weave intimate details into the movie, things that weren’t in the book. I was kind of the middleman between him and Marty, and I would bring pages of notes from my meetings with Jordan—things like this insane orgy on a 747 going to Vegas, chimpanzees in diapers that would skate through the Stratton offices, very intimate stuff about his relationships with women—and Marty was game to try everything. His approach was essentially to put everything onscreen and see what we responded to. It was old-school, really independent filmmaking on a larger scale.”

Gorgeous Leo!

Always here for my man says Lukas

Researching the role? I guess he didn`t need much research except for some Wall Street experience…
He looks good on the photos from the US Open yesterday but I already prefer this thread. Only him and he looks delicious on that cover!

# 4

I love how they used old pictures of jack Nicholson for the cover.

Im not crazy about this look on Leo but I really can’t wait for his performance in Wolf. Whether he’s playing himself or not, it’s just so nice to see relax and have fun with a role again.

# 7

He looks to be 55. All that smoking and boozing and carousing has caught up with him. He thought it never would , but he has.

Also, he is a very remote actor who doesn’t invite viewers into him.

# 8

@HAHA!@: Actually I like his hair – at least it’s not slicked back!

# 9

oops! HAHA12

its just the beard that I dislike haha. he looks a lot older in this cover, like he’s in his 50s. I think its the hairstyle that hurts him here because his forehead is pretty big and when he lifts his hair up it looks even worse! and itd be nice to see a smile from him :p

he looks great

@HAHA12: I like the goatee! He does have a huge forehead – not sure how he can wear his hair to hide that. When he slicks his hair back – I think it makes it even worse. Interesting how people are still posting on the old thread, don’t you think?

very total sexy photo——-

He could do with going a bit leaner; seriously he looks a bit porky these days. Sorry Leo. But your incredible acting make up for it somewhat. Genuine talent.

He’s looking very distinguished – and I mean that in a good way!

DeCraprio needs to hang up his “acting” hat. He a second rate B actor with limited ability. And I think he’s a closet gay. (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
