Bruno Mars: Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Performer - Confirmed!

It’s official – Bruno Mars is set to perform during halftime at Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2, 2014 at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

The 27-year-old entertainer confirmed the news with a YouTube video after rumors that he’d be performing surfaced earlier this week just as the season kicked off.

Beyonce famously hit the stage at the event last year, surprising viewers and fans with a Destiny’s Child reunion during her set.

I think Bruno is a great vocalist. I also find him to be a bit too Ricky Ricardo like and a tiny bit boring. I don’t think he’s the best choice for the Super bowl. Too new of an artist also.

I think Bruno is great, but, he is very new and he is NOT a performer. This is a big show that need a big showman/showgirl

We want JLo!! she ‘s a performer!

Finally a true talent and entertainer. Bruno’s concerts are incredible. I have no doubt he will win over the naysayers.

Seriously? I thought this was a bad joke. He has no voice so I guess we are lucky they lip synch the bowl. Unreal, sad.

I think by the time Superbowl gets here no one will remember who Bruno Mars is… should have picked a larger name for this

He is part Filipino that’s where he gets his talent though he channels Michael Jackson too much. Bruno is not an original performer.

Really? He’s a boring entertainer? He hasn’t been around long enough? He has no voice? He’s too much like Michael Jackson? Puhleeze. This guy has more talent in his pinkie than most of the artists in music today INCLUDING last year’s performer. He is an amazing artist and deserves your congratulations, not your armchair quarterback critiques. You are in for an amazing spectacle. This guy is the real deal and gives 110% in all of his concerts. His band performs completely live unlike last year’s performer who is well known for her auto tune performances. He writes and scores and performs his own music with his band. Anyone who thinks he isn’t a good choice just doesn’t know Bruno. Larga vida a Bruno Mars!

Bruno is great, but no as a enterteiner… Lady Gaga or even Jlo could deliver a better visual Show…

I can’t wait. He will finally be recognized as Entertainer of the Year! America is so behind on what a real artist he is. The other parts of the world got to enjoy his talent first and it had to take a Super Bowl to showcase his talent and and artistry for Americans to see.

Yes, he is an American, even though he was born in Hawaii.
