'Riddick' Opens at Top of the Weekend Box Office

Vin Diesel‘s Riddick has topped this weekend’s box office, opening to a solid $18.8 million!

According to THR, Lee DanielsThe Butler – starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey – continued strong in second place with $8.9 million, totaling $91.9 million in North America.

Coming in at No. 3 was the Spanish-language film Instructions Not Included, which grossed $8.1 million as it expanded to more than 700 theaters.

Rounding out the top five were Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman‘s new comedy We’re the Millers, and Disney’s Planes, which brought in $7.9 million and $4.2 million, respectively.

At the specialty box office, Salinger opened with $90,969 from four theaters in New York and Los Angeles, for a location average of $22,742.

Meanwhile, One Direction‘s docu-film This Is Us took a dive to sixth place, bringing in an additional $4.1 million.

    The Butler sounds good and so does the movie Salinger if it expands (have a hard time driving too far). Not interested in Riddick but all my best to the fans of it.
